Top gospel music acts, including Tope Alabi, Bisi Alawiye, Laolu Gbenjo, Ife Odogiyon, and Dare Justified, will storm Ibadan on July 14 and July 19 to celebrate the 50th birthday of veteran gospel minister Evangelist Bukola Akinade aka Senwele Jesu.
The two-in-one golden jubilee celebration will honour the life, impact, and over two decades of ministry of the renowned singer, whose music has become a staple in homes and churches across Nigeria.
According to the event coordinator, Seyi Sokoya, the celebration is not just a birthday party, but a moment to recognise Senwele Jesu’s consistency, spiritual impact, and dedication to gospel music.
“Senwele Jesu is a respected brand,” Sokoya said. “She has remained steadfast and consistent in her calling to populate the Kingdom with her God-given talent. Reaching this golden age is a testament to special grace, and she deserves to be celebrated in grand style.”

The celebration begins with a music concert tagged ’50th Jubilee Praise’ on Sunday, July 13, at Christ Apostolic Church Eagle’s Wings Assembly, Wakajaye Road, Iyana Church, Ibadan, Oyo State. The concert will feature thrilling ministrations from some of Nigeria’s most celebrated gospel artists.
The grand finale takes place on Friday, July 19, starting with a Thanksgiving Service at the same church venue by 10:00 a.m. This will be followed by a grand reception at Jogor Event Centre, Liberty Road, Ibadan.
Bishop Funke Felix-Adejumo, co-founder of Agape Christian Ministries and one of Nigeria’s foremost female ministers, will deliver the keynote message at the Thanksgiving service.
Senwele Jesu’s husband, Pastor Joseph Akinade, will serve as host of the event, which promises to be a celebration of grace, purpose, and decades of musical ministry.
“We are thankful for the grace upon Senwele Jesu’s life,” Sokoya added. “Her music and ministry have touched lives across the globe. This celebration is not just a birthday, it is a recognition of her commitment, service, and enduring impact in gospel music for the past 25 years.”
