A tricycle operator, Sunday Amaje, yesterday appeared at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft of a tricycle valued at N665,000.
He pleaded not guilty.
Prosecuting Inspector Victor Eruada said Amaje committed the offence on May 6, at Isheri Garage, Pen Cinema, Agege, Lagos.
He alleged that the stolen tricycle belonged to Mrs. Florence Aigbe.
Eruada said Amaje collected the tricycle on hire purchase from Aigbe.
“After the defendant collected the tricycle, he called the complainant later, saying it had been stolen,’’ the prosecutor said.
Magistrate M. I. Dan-Oni granted the defendant N200,000 bail with two sureties in the like sum.
The case was adjourned till June 4.
