Two persons have been confirmed dead and another injured in a lone accident that occurred along the Ondo-Ore Road in Ondo State.

The two dead victims were said to be personnel of the Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

They were said to be returning from the burial ceremony of a mother of one of their colleagues in Okitipupa.

Witnesses said the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and somersaulted into a ditch.

Spokesman of the Ondo NSCDC Command, ASC, Olufemi Omole, who confirmed the incident, said it was a moment of sober reflection for the command.

The injured were taken to the Ondo State Trauma Centre, Ondo, while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the Ondo State General Hospital, Ondo.
