United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has presented information materials to the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) on basic facts about COVID-19 to educate NCoS workers and inmates on the virus.

A statement by UNODC said the materials were produced in English, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo and would be disseminated in the 244 custodial centres in Nigeria.

Receiving the materials on behalf of Nigerian Correctional Service, Comptroller General Ja’afaru Ahmed said: “This noble donation will assist the service in its prompt response to curtail and control spread of COVID-19 and ensure the service maintains its zero COVID-19 related deaths. At this period of health challenge, any effort made to make life easier for others is appreciated.”
