Some students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, who protested the new policy of payment before examination on Wednesday, have been arrested for alleged illegal procession and public disturbance.
The school was shut down on Wednesday and students were asked to vacate the campus.
However, some students yesterday morning allegedly regrouped to foment trouble and the police arrested them.
Efforts to speak with the Akungba Divisional Police Officer (DPO) proved abortive, but one of the students, Tobiloba Ajagunna, who was wrongly arrested while on her way to board a vehicle to Ikare, her town, said those arrested were taken to Ikare Akoko Police Station.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Ikare, Yinka Agboola, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), confirmed the arrest of students at Akungba for alleged unruly behaviour.
