The board and management of West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE) on Friday announced the appointment of Molade Adeniyi as the organisation’s new Chief Executive Officer.
This is as Misan Rewane, former CEO and Founder steps aside but will continue to serve as Founder and Board Member.
The appointment, the company said, represents its continued commitment to WAVE’s vision; “a world where every young African has the skills and opportunities to become all that they imagine.”
According to a statement by the Board and management of the organization, the appointment is with immediate effect.
Molade according to the statement, has extensive experience in Business Development and supporting organisations through their growth phase, “just the competence that our organisation needs at this time.
“There is enormous opportunity for WAVE that lies ahead, and we couldn’t be happier with Molade joining our family and supporting us as we achieve our goals and vision.” The statement reads.
Commenting on the appointment, Misan Rewane, the former CEO who has in the last six years led and contributed to the growth and development of the organization said “It has been a tremendous honour to serve as the CEO of WAVE since founding the organisation and I am extremely proud of everything our team has accomplished together in just six years.
“We have made meaningful progress toward our top organisation priorities and the Board and I am confident that Molade is the right person to build on this momentum and steward WAVE through its next stage of growth.’
The management appreciated the achievements of the outgoing CEO, “We cannot thank Misan enough for her visionary leadership and contributions.
“To us, she is a true pioneer and visionary and will miss her day to day leadership tremendously.
“Today’s announcement follows another strong year in which WAVE reached over 500 young people directly and an additional 6000 people indirectly through our strategic partners with an overall job placement rate of 40% with an additional 20% finding employment on their own. WAVE’s alumni also recorded an income transformation of x2.
