OYO State Governor-elect Seyi Makinde has vowed to review new contracts awarded and appointments made by Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s administration from March 11 till date.
He spoke in a statement by his aide, Prince Dotun Oyelade, yesterday.
The governor-elect alleged that new contracts were being awarded and new appointments made in a frenzy as part of last-minute activities of the Ajimobi administration.
Makinde also warned that civil servants found to be cooperating with the outgoing administration in the alleged contracts and appointments would be reprimanded.
The statement read in part: “Accounting Officers of MDAs, Permanent Secretaries and the office of the Accountant General that are being used as conduit-pipes to perfect the dubious acts will have to explain their roles in the very near future.
“With the frenzy of malfeasance going on, all contracts awarded since March 11, 2019, and all fresh appointments within the same period will come under special focus, all options are on the table as none of these actions are cast in stone or binding on the new administration.”
Makinde said any attempt by the outgoing government “to stifle, frustrate or stop the in-coming government from performing” will be resisted by all legitimate means.
But Ajimobi had emphasised that no amount of campaign of calumny would prevent his administration from working till its last day in office.
