Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has vowed to deliver the state for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, as well as all other candidates of the party during next month’s general elections.
Sule stated this while flagging off the campaign of the party’s senatorial candidate for Nasarawa West, Shehu Tukur, in Kokona local government area of the state.
The governor emphasized that APC Northern governors will use their resources to ensure that Tinubu emerged as president of the country, stressing that, if there is anybody that wants Tinubu to become president, it’s the APC Northern governors.
While noting that, it’s only God who gives power to whom he wills and at the appointed time, Governor Sule said he is prepared to face any form of opposition.
“Only God can stop Tinubu and Abdullahi Sule from becoming president and governor respectively. We are determined to commit our resources and strength to conquer any form of opposition,” he assured.
The Governor, therefore, called on the people to ensure they vote for candidates of the APC from top to bottom.
“Our goal is to return Tinubu, our three senators, five houses of representatives and 24 state assembly members as elected,” he said.
The governor dismissed insinuations in the media suggesting that 11 APC governors are secretly holding meetings with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
“These are blatant lies. The APC Northern governors stood firm for Tinubu to emerge, they will do anything to make him president. Disregard any of such lies emanating from people who are seeking favours from Tinubu,” he stated.
APC National Chairman Senator Abdullahi Adamu called on the people to vote for all the candidates of the party.
According to Senator Adamu, it will not augur well for Tinubu and Governor Sule to emerge president and governor respectively but to have members of the opposition as members of the national and state assemblies.
The former Senator used the opportunity of the event to unfold his successor, in the person of Shehu Tukur, the APC flagbearer for Nasarawa West senatorial district.
Minister for the Environment, Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, cautioned against divided loyalty, urging the people to vote only for APC candidates.
