Fast rising singer, Uyinmwen Omosigbo, popularly known as Don VS has said he settled for the traditional genre of music owing to its mileage in sending messages to audiences.

The Benin-born artist also added that the richness of his Edo dialect informed his decision to connect lyrically with his fans in indigenous language.

“My genre of music is traditional pop. Why I love the traditional pop is that it’s easy to pass message to the world as well as to make people enjoy our priceless Edo language,” Don Vs says.

In opting to embrace mother tongue in the furtherance of his craft, Don VS joins the league of legendary Edo musicians who carved a niche for themselves in traditional music such as Sir Victor Uwaifo, Joseph Osayomore, Nowamagbe among others.

Music is one hell of endeavour to make both name and fortune from but for Don VS, the foot is already on the throttle, as he is bent on powering his dream to fruition regardless of threats and hurdles.

“My plan is to work hard and focus more,” Don Vs says, an indication of the big dreams before him. Hard work pays and the singer says going the whole distance is a task that must be done.

One of the few musical stars doing the nation proud oversees, Don VS is a multiple award-winning performer whose star is fated to shine in the years ahead..

Perhaps, the biggest takeaway from Uyinmwen Omosigbo songs is the promotion of Bini language across the world, much as Nigerians are promoting the English language today at schools, offices, markets, churches to mention but a few.

“I sing mostly in my mother’s tongue, which is Bini. It’s important to stay connected to one’s heritage even if one is living in the diaspora, ” said Don Vs.
