Why I’m putting production on hold, says Specialborn

Fast-rising Nollywood movie director and producer, Oluseyi Muyiwa Akanbi, known as Seyi Specialborn, who presently resides in the US, has said he has not produced any movie because of his Phd programme abroad.

Speaking on the recent independence celebration, the producer said he wants a country that works for their kind of field.

“I want a country that attracts foreigners; one that her citizens will not beg for US/Canada visa,” he said.

He also revealed that he will not be producing any work this year, until next year, revealing that his love for creativity will not let him end his dream of putting messages across to people with his works.

“My motivating factor has been a quest to produce internationally acceptable movies and my goal has always been to leave an indelible imprint on the surface of African Movies and thus create a “path to tread” for the upcoming practitioners.

“My aim is to breathe freshness into the film industry in Africa and thus set a new pace for the coming generations. I strongly believe that our yesterday maybe poor but our today is better and what happens tomorrow depends on what we are able to correct today”.

The producer who relocated about five years ago, had work with some top names in the movie industry such as Bukky Wright, Lola Idijie, late Olamide Bakare, among others.
