A woman has died, her mother rushed to hospital after an explosion in their Aba, Abia State residence.

It was unclear whether the explosion was from a cooking gas or a lantern burning on adulterated kerosene.

The explosion resulted in a fire which left two other persons with injuries, and rendered the tenants homeless.

The father of the deceased was buried a month ago, The Nation learnt.
