A 14-year-old girl kidnapped for nearly a month in Anambra State has been rescued, the police said.
Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, said in a statement on Monday that three suspects, Onyemechi Aniobi, 23, Elochukwu Okudo, 25, and Pauline Elechi, 24 have been arrested in connection with the abduction.
The victim, who was abducted in Onitsha on January 12 and reportedly raped repeatedly, was rescued by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) at the hoodlums’ hideout in the Ogidi area of the state, Mohammed said.

“On the 30/1/2020 the syndicate contacted the victim’s mother through SMS and demanded for ransom of N10 million which was later reviewed downward after much pleading by the victim’s mother,” the police document said.
“The suspects equally sent a First Bank account number 3120904371 bearing one John Blessing to the victim’s parent to deposit the ransom.”
Mohammed said the suspects would be charged to court after investigations.
