Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of an Ikeja Special Offences Court on Tuesday sentenced a Yahoo boy, Adekaunsi Kayode, to six months imprisonment for possession of false documents.
Justice Taiwo fined the convict N200,000 in lieu of imprisonment.
The court also ordered that items found with the convict, including an iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro Max and MacBook be forfeited to the Federal Government.
The sentence followed Adekaunsi’s ‘guilty’ plea to a two-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
EFCC counsel, T.J. Banjo had earlier told the court that the convict committed the offence between July and August 2021 within the jurisdiction of the court.

Banjo said the convict was found in possession of several documents containing false pretences and titled “Missing Direct Deposits” and which he knew to be false.
Banjo said that the defendant entered a plea bargain with the commission and prayed the court to sentence him as charged in accordance with the terms of the agreement.
Defence counsel, Kehinde Adeyemi, ìn his allocutus, pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.
He said the convict was remorseful and had promised not to commit the offence again.
Delivering judgment, Justice Taiwo sentenced the convict as charged.
