‘You’ll pay for misconduct by juniors’

Enugu State Police Commissioner Ahmad Abdurrahman has said officers will pay for corruption in their jurisdiction.

Abdurrahman spoke on Tuesday at a meeting with area commanders, divisional and departmental heads in the command.

He said officers would be punished for misconduct in their jurisdictions.

“Henceforth, any officer in whose domain extortion is recorded will be vicariously punished with his personnel. We can effectively police our areas without causing pains to road users through extortions.

“…I am directing the X-squad and monitoring units, as well as provost units … to checkmate this ugly trend. I urge officers …to remain professional and … police with humane face.”
