Zamfara: INEC reschedule elections in 29 wards

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rescheduled elections of 19 wards in Kwari and Kurya towns of Shinkafi local government of Zamfara state.

Reasons giving for the adjustment according to INEC director voter education and enlightenment, Alhaji Garbs Galadima is insecurity.

Elections did hold in Kawaye town of Anka local government area of the state, locals of the area when contacted disclosed that they did not vote because they’ve been promised by the government that their people who were abducted recently will reunite with their families and further promised that security personnel’s will be deployed to secure the area and no such promises have been fulfilled.

It could be recalled that Shinkafi was among the nine local governments INEC rescheduled their elections to the following day in Zamfara state because of insecurity threat.

Already INEC has started today’s rescheduled election in time and voter turn out was commendable.
