Twenty-four hours after 21 persons were shot dead at a wedding in a village in Kaduna State, gunmen invaded Gora Gan village in Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of the state, killing the village head and nine others.
A six-year-old boy was among the dead, while many other villagers were wounded, it was gathered.
Eyewitnesses said the gunmen numbering about 20 invaded the village around 7.10 on Monday night, shooting randomly.
Vice-chair of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Zango-Kataf council, Pastor Isaac Ango-Makama, who confirmed the incident, said several houses were burnt during the attack.
“The villagers are still searching for their missing relatives,” the cleric said.
Secretary of the Mercy Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp, Zonkwa, Ezekiel James said they need help to cater for displaced persons.
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state condemned the attack, saying that the spate of attacks on Southern Kaduna villages was unacceptable.

The party’s state Publicity Secretary, Abraham Catoh in the statement, said the state governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai was not doing enough to curb the insecurity in the state.
Police spokesman Muhammad Jalige did not respond to the reporter’s phone calls.
On Monday 16 persons were kidnapped, more injured when gunmen attacked Magani and Tungan-Bako communities in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
Eight people were kidnapped at Magami, six at Tungan Bako.
The Nation learnt that the kidnappers stormed the communities on motorcycles.
The Kidnappers went from house to house, selecting those to abduct and robbing the people.
A source said one of those kidnapped at Tungan-Bako was released by the bandits in order to get the ransom demanded since none of the victims had phones for the abductors to make contact with their relations.
Director-General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Inga confirmed the story but did not give details.
Gunmen also attacked a general hospital in Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, killing a security guard, while a policeman and three other persons suffered machete wounds.
The Nation gathered that the gunmen stormed the hospital at about 10pm on Monday, shot the security guard at close range and attacked a policeman with a machete after disarming him. Three other persons were wounded.
“Men of Operations Safe Haven arrived at the scene shortly after the gunmen had fled into the bush,”a witness said.
Police spokesman Ubah Ogaba said he was “yet to get details of the attack on the hospital”.
