The Ogun State Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate, Otunba Deji Osinowo has vowed to defeat incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun and other candidates contesting next year’s election.
Osinowo, who disclosed this in an interview with reporters in Abeokuta, said he remains the candidate to beat for the governorship poll. He said Governor Abiodun, who is seeking a second-term mandate on the platform of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed the people, especially in the area of viable infrastructure and people-oriented projects.
The SDP candidate said the governor’s reelection bid is dead on arrival because of his low performance and mismanagement of the state’s resources.
Osinowo, who bragged that he will defeat and humiliate Governor Abiodun and the governorship candidates of other parties during the election said the people of Ogun State are tired of his government because it has failed to meet their yearnings and aspirations.
He said he is the only candidate that could change the fortune of the state for the better and deliver the people from insecurity, hunger and economic hardships facing the masses.
The governorship candidate urged Tony Ojeshina whom he defeated at the primary to stop parading himself as the party’s candidate because the court would soon declare him as the party’s authentic candidate.
He said: “I will humiliate the current governor and other opponents at the poll next year. I do not doubt that I am the best man for this job. Those underrating my popularity are doing so at their peril. I will prove to them on the day of the election that I am the best man for the job.
“For my opponent at the primary, he is just wasting his time. I have gone to court and my candidacy is not in question. By the grace of God, I will emerge as the next governor of Ogun State.”
