An All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart in Sokoto State, Hajiya Munawwarah Yazid has described her party’s presidential candidate in next year’s general elections, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a game changer who can transform the country if elected.

Yazid who spoke to reporters in Sokoto, the Sokoto State capital, said Nigerians will enjoy more dividends of democracy and good governance if they elect Tinubu and Shettima next year.

She said the APC candidate has carved a niche for himself as a true democrat. She said: “The Tinubu and Shettima ticket will certainly change the narrative if elected.

Yazid described Tinubu as an achiever and accomplished technocrat with a tested and trusted political track record.

The party chieftain said the combination of the duo of Tinubu and Shettima is a good omen for Nigeria. She added: “They are achievers in their own right as former governors and senators who rendered selfless services as servants to their people and Nigerians.

“They did well in transforming their respective states as governors and I am confident that they will replicate the same feat if given the mandate by Nigerians.”

Yazid said Tinubu would build on and sustain the legacies and achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari. She added: “He will even surpass President Buhari’s achievements because the foundation has been laid.”

Yazid assured the APC candidate that she will mobilise no fewer than 20,000 votes in her community. She explained that it will be carried out via her group, the Zuhaf Strategic Alliance.

She said: “I have facilitated the defection of over 13,000 members of other parties into the APC from 14 out of 23 local governments in the state and still counting.”

She added that the combination of Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and Idris Gobir as the party’s governorship candidate and running mate in the state is also a good combination that symbolises resilience. She said the duo have the capacity to revamp Sokoto State if given the mandate.

She said: “They have an unbeaten record that will stand them elected to replicate the eight years indelible record of achievements of former Governor Aliyu Wamakko on infrastructural developments and peoples’ welfare.”
