The Bauchi State Police Command is investigating the murder of 20-year-old Hajara Isa, who was allegedly killed by her co-wife in their home on February 28.
The incident came to light on March 3, when Sale Isa of Anguwan Sarakuna, Bauchi, reported the death to the police.
While the motive remains unclear, family members suspect that Hajara’s co-wife, Fatima Mohammed (28), may be responsible.
Acting on the report, Commissioner of Police Auwal Musa Muhammad deployed detectives from the C Division Police Headquarters to investigate the matter.
In a statement, the Command’s spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police Ahmed Wakili confirmed that their findings led to Mohammed’s arrest.
