THE Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (PPA) has issued new guidelines for registration, renewal and upgrade of registration of contractors, suppliers and consultants with the agency.
This is to ensure the ease of doing business, particularly during the lockdown ordered by the Federal and Lagos State governments to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking about the guidelines yesterday, the General Manager, Mr. Fatai Idowu Onafowote, said that the agency released the guidelines to further enhance the state government’s policy on the ease of doing business in Lagos.
He said that since the government must provide services for the people despite the lockdown, there was need for the agency to develop a creative system that would enable contractors, suppliers and consultants doing business or desiring to do business with the government to do so, to enable the government provide goods and services for the people.

Onafowote noted that the guidelines would provide details on the steps to follow by contactors, suppliers and consultants to register, renew or upgrade their registration with the agency.
stressing that the Law setting up the Agency makes it mandatory for Contractors, Suppliers and Consultants to register with the Agency to be eligible for participation in bids for award of contracts in any Ministry, Department or Agency of the State Government.
He added that the Guidelines also lists the steps to follow by Contractors, Suppliers and Consultants who transact business with the State Government for the payment of Development Levy, Administrative and Agreement fees.
