BBNaija All Stars housemate Cross has alleged that he has a romantic history with former winner of BBnaija show, Mercy Eke while opening up on his flirtatious moves in the house.
Cross made the confession during a conversation with Tolanibaj after the second Saturday Night party in the BBNaija All Stars house.
Cross revealed that he and Mercy Eke have some sort of romantic history outside the BBNaija house.
The shocking revelation is yet to be confirmed by Mercy Eke, who until now is oblivious of the confession.
Cross went further to clarify the female housemates that he’s longing to be with in the house. He mentioned Angel, Alex and Ceec in particular as the girls catching his fancy at the moment.
Noticing that Cross omitted Ilebaye’s name, Tolanibaj told Cross that he was leading Ilebaye on.
In response, Cross stated that he is just having fun and is open to having anything in the house.
He expressed that he sees Ilebaye just as a friend and stated his suspicions that Angel might be interested in having something with him.
In a conversation with Ilebaye, Doyin revealed that Cross is flirting with her, a move she finds weird because he knows about her friendship with Ilebaye. Upon hearing this news, Ilebaye stated she doesn’t care about Cross’s interactions with the girls in the house.
Giving her opinion to Ilebaye, Angel expressed that Ilebaye should confront Cross, even if she does not care about him.
The BBNaija All Stars’ second Saturday night party was an amazing night rave filled with energetic steps from all the housemates currently occupying Biggie’s house.
The atmosphere was electric as the housemates danced and sang along to their favourite songs, creating unforgettable memories. The night was a perfect blend of music, entertainment, and pure joy.
The vibe from the party continued into the house, with the housemates carrying on with excitement, and for the first time, no fight was recorded after the Saturday night rave.
The positive energy from the party seemed to have a lasting effect on the housemates, as they were seen bonding and laughing together throughout the night. It was a refreshing change to see them enjoying each other’s company without any conflicts or arguments.
Uriel used the opportunity of the moment to open up about her crush on Neo and how she really liked him to Cee-C. This was coming fresh from the heels of Neo speaking about wanting to be in a relationship.
Ilebaye at a ‘Cross’-road
The relationship talk continued with Angel, Doyin, and Ilebaye, who had a conversation about Cross asking Doyin out. The conversation stirred Angel and Doyin, who advised Ilebaye to speak with Cross or not entertain him, since he seemingly has his eye set on other girls in the house.
Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate Neo Akpofure has bragged about his masculine charms saying it is almost impossible for ladies, most especially his exes, to resist him.
He boasted that all the women he has been involved with romantically always come back to beg him to take them back after their relationships hit the rocks.
The 29-year-old said he knows his worth and so never took any of his exes back.
Neo said: “Every single one of my exes, anytime they leave, they come back. And by the time they come back, it’s always too late. I know my worth right now.”
Uriel has confessed kissing Neo. She told another housemate, Cee-C that she and Neo had kissed in the early days of the ongoing reality show.
Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai was conspicuously absent when Bello, his eldest son, got married to his second wife, Aisha Habibu Shuaibu, on Saturday.
El-Rufai was reported to have jetted out of the country while awaiting security clearance for his confirmation by the Senate.
The Senate last week confirmed 45 out of the 48 ministerial nominees of President Bola Tinubu.
But El-Rufai and two other nominees – Stella Okotete (Delta) and Danladi Abubakar (Taraba) – were not confirmed as the senate said they were awaiting security clearance.
The former Governor met with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja, on Tuesday, after which he flew abroad, with sources saying he was off to Europe, but would be in Egypt first.
Imams fault Senate over non-confirmation of El-Rufai’s ministerial nomination
Bello, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Banking Regulations, had a private Nikah with the daughter of a former Military Administrator for Plateau and Niger States, Col. Habibu Shuaibu, in Abuja on Saturday.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, whom Bello served as legislative aide when the Governor was a Senator, stood in as the father of the day.
In Hausa tradition, the Wakili (representative) of the groom’s father receives the bride at a wedding, while the waliyyi, representative of the bride’s family at a wedding, gives out the bride.
However, this tradition does not stop the parents of the couple from witnessing their children’s wedding as Hajia Hadiza Isma El-Rufai was on ground.
Expressing delight over being the father of the day at the wedding, Governor took to his verified X account (formerly known as Twitter) to share some pictures of the ceremony with caption.
“On Saturday, August 12th, 2023, I had the honour of standing in as the father of the groom at the wedding ceremony of my former Senior Legislative Aide, and House of Representatives Member (Kaduna North Fed. Constituency), Hon. Bello El-Rufai and his beautiful wife, Aisha Shuaibu. I wish them a happy married life and I pray that Allah makes theirs among the best. Ameen.”
A ray of hope for a peaceful resolution of the standoff between the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the military junta in Niger Republic has appeared as the coup leaders have accepted to open their doors to dialogue and diplomacy.
The man at the head of the junta, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, gave the indication on Saturday during a meeting with Nigeria’s Intervention Team, consisting of prominent Islamic scholars across Nigeria led by the National Chairman of Jamatul Izalatu Bida Waikamatu Sunnah, Sheikh Bala Lau.
The body of Ulammas (Islamic scholars) met with President Bola Tinubu on Thursday and had offered to intervene in the escalating crisis in Niger, especially between the country’s coup leaders and other West African regional body, a situation that had already raised global tension.
In a statement by the leader of the Nigeria’s Intervention Team in the standoff, Sheikh Lau, and made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday, Tchiani told the Ulammas that the junta’s doors were open to explore diplomacy and peace in resolving the matter.
“Nigeria’s Intervention Team comprising prominent Islamic scholars in the country at the weekend met with the coup leaders in Niger where both parties agreed to intensify the option of dialogue in resolving the political crisis in that country.
“The Islamic Ulammas led by Sheik Bala Lau met with General Abdourahmane Tchiani for several hours in Niger’s capital Niamey during which they deliberated on all the issues including the demand by ECOWAS leaders that former President Bazoum be reinstated.
“Bala Lau, who is the National Chairman of Jamatul Izalatu Bida Waikamatu Sunnah, said the clerics were in Niger on behalf of President Bola Tinubu who accepted their request to intervene.
“Sheik Lau said the team had earlier told President Tinubu who is also the Chairman of Authority of ECOWAS Heads of State and Government that their position is that the political impasse in Niger be resolved through dialogue.
“He therefore told General Tchiani that the visit to Niger was to engage in constructive dialogue to encourage him and other military leaders behind the coup to toe the path of peace instead of war to resolve the crisis.
“Responding, General Tchiani, who accorded the team warm reception, welcomed their intervention.
“He said their doors were open to explore diplomacy and peace in resolving the matter.
“General Tchiani, however, said it was painful to the coup leaders that the ECOWAS leaders did not hear their side of the matter before issuing ultimatum to them to quit office.
“He claimed the coup was well intended, stating that they struck to stave off an imminent threat that would have affected not only Niger Republic but also Nigeria.
“He also apologised for not according the team sent by President Tinubu, led by former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), the required attention because they were angry about the ECOWAS ultimatum.
“While tracing the historical ties between the two nations, he said Niger Republic and Nigeria were not only neighbours but brothers and sisters who should resolve issues amicably,” the statement reads.
Speaking with journalists in Niamey after the meeting, another member of the intervention team and Chief Missioner of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Sheik Ahmad Abdulrahman, said contrary to reports in some sections of the media, the team was well received by General Tchiani and both parties had fruitful discussions.
“We will now go back home and report to President Tinubu what we have discussed and press it on him that war is not an option in resolving the matter.
“We believe that war is an ill wind that will not blow any good and that peaceful resolution should prevail”, he said.
The team comprised scholars from various Islamic sects in the country.
Among them were Sheik Kabiru Gombe-Secretary, Jamatul izalatul bida waikamatul sunnah, Sheik Yakubu Musa Hassan Katsina-Director Daawah, JIBWIS, Sheik Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi- Rep Sheik Ibrahim Bauchi and Dr Khalid Aliya- Secretary General, Jammatul Nasril Islam.
Others included Sheik Karibullah Nasiru Kabara- Leader Khadriya group Nigeria, Sheik Ahmad Abdurahman, Professor Salisu Sheri- Deputy Secretary-General Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Sheik Nasiru Abdul Muhayuid- Director Admin, JIBWIS Jos, Professor Mansur Sokoto, and Alhaji Mele Kyari.
The National Judicial Council (NJC) has distanced itself and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, from a letter purporting to empower the Governor of Kebbi State to appoint the Chief Judge of the High Court.
The NJC, in a statement on Sunday by its spokesman, Soji Oye, stated that the said letter, dated July 14 did not emanate from it and was not signed by CJN, who is its Chairman.
The statement reads: “The attention of the National Judicial Council has been drawn to a fake letter dated 14 July 2023, purported to have emanated from the council, and signed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman, National Judicial Council, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON.
“The fake letter titled: ‘Order of Seniority of Judges of the High Court of Kebbi State and recommendation of Justice Umar Abubakar as the substantive Chief Judge of Kebbi State,’ addressed to the Chief Judge, stating ‘that under section 10 of the existing law of Kebbi state 1996, His Excellency, the Governor, has the power to determine Seniority of Judges and the National Judicial Council has no power to override or reverse the decision of His Excellency.’
“It further stated that ‘the office of the Head of Court/Chief Judge is purely a political appointment to be decided by the Governor of a state.’
“For the purpose of clarification and avoidance of doubt, the National Judicial Council hereby emphatically disclaimed the letter as there is no iota of truth in it, and no such letter ever emanated from the office of the Chief Justice of Nigeria or the council.
“The public is hereby advised to discountenance the letter and its content.
“Meanwhile, the council has reported the unfortunate case to the relevant security agencies with a view to investigating and bringing to book whoever is behind this dastardly act.”
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has dismissed insinuations on the social media that the Armed Forces received a request for coup in the country.
It described as concerning, false and distrubing, the reports that have awashed the social media space.
A statement on Sunday by the Director, Defence Information, Brig.-Gen. Tukur Gusau, said the military believed such false claims came from those who do not mean well for the country.
He said: “The Defence Headquarters is concerned about a false and disturbing social media reports twisted to state that the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) received request to effect change of leadership in the country.
“We want to use this opportunity to reiterate that the AFN never received nor made such declaration at any time to anyone or any group.
“We believe this statement came from those who do not wish the nation well. It is surely the wicked imagination of a few who are not happy with the progress and well-being of our dear country.
“The AFN is very comfortable with democracy and remain loyal to the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
“The military is always willing and ready to defend the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We urge those peddling such falsehood to desist from such or face the law.
“The Military and indeed other security agencies are on the look out for these agents of doom. We must all all join hands to strengthen our democracy.”
A former presidential candidate Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim has cautioned the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) against using military might to force the reinstatement of the ousted civilian government in the country.
Olawepo-Hashim’s Abuja media office explained that though “the invasion of Niger Republic may achieve the objective of removing the military Junta in Niamey, it has the potential of escalating the security problem in the North West and North East of Nigeria as the remnant of the fleeing men loyal to the Junta will hibernate in forests between Nigeria and Niger to escalate what the bandits have been doing to Nigeria in the past few years.”
Olawepo-Hashim however reiterated the fact that “nations go to war primarily to protect their national interests, but in this case, there is no national interest of Nigeria at stake in Niger to warrant a commitment of Nigerian troops,” adding that the problem in Niger is an internal problem of Niger and at best a Francophone problem.
According to him: “Nigeria must return to its traditional foreign policy of pursuing peace and security in Africa, policy of Non-Aggression and Non-Alignment.
“We must remain Non Aligned to the interests of any foreign power at the Global stage as formulated by our founding fathers at independence. The policy of Non-Alignment championed by Nigeria and India earned the nation respect and friendship all over the world.”
He stated: “Africa cannot afford another security mess similar to what happened after the invasion of Libya and overthrow of Muammar Gadaffi in 2012 that destabilised the entire Sahel region, and Nigeria is still battling with the consequences in mounting security problems in the North West and North East regions.”
He noted that military intervention is regarded as an aberration around the world, he nevertheless, urging the ECOWAS to employ “constructive engagement and diplomacy” in ensuring that democratic structures are restored in the country.”
