Yomi Fabiyi hits back as Jaiye Kuti’s blasts begging movie veterans

Controversial actor Yomi Fabiyi has responded to colleague Jaiye Kuti’s criticisms of veterans begging fans for money online.

The Nation reports Jaiye Kuti, in a viral video, expressed displeasure over the recent trend of veteran movie stars begging fans for financial support and car gifts online.

According to her, such act is tarnishing and giving the Nollywood community bad names.

She stressed that Nollywood is not a pension-based industry and thespians are supposed to prepare for their future during their young and active years.

She further implied that some of those begging fans online may have recklessly wasted their earnings during their younger days.

Responding to this, Yomi via his Instagram page said many of the veterans begging for arms had been exploited in the past and the recent trend should not bother anyone.

He wrote: “If anybody needs help and indeed comes public with his or her brand, name and face only, I don’t see why it should bother any. If you cannot find means to recover all these veterans’ losses via piracy and exploitation by capitalists, then let them breathe. We new millennium actors are a little luckier but not better.

“We must learn to respect people’s decisions, choices, and actions. All man for himself. Comparison is proof of nothing. I prefer these veterans’ stars to seek charity than go into drug Trafficking, Fraud, Rituals etc just to survive their present hardship. Maybe these charity should be in a more packaged means because truth be told, MANY OLD ACTORS ARE SUFFERING IN SILENCE AND LIKELY TO DIE DISGRACEFULLY IF THEY DON’T SEEK HELP.

“Let it be clear, no matter how uncomfortable and displeased you are with someone’s actions or decisions, if it is not against the law of the land and falls within the rights of the person, it is an outright arrogance, crime and grandeur of delusion to attempt to rubbish such person. Caveat!

“Nigeria sef they beg and borrow. I HATE PRETENCE, ARROGANCE, AND FAKE LIVES”, he said.

Bimbo Ademoye appreciates veteran actress Shaffy Bello for support

Actress Bimbo Ademoye has penned an appreciation note to senior colleague, Shaffy Bello.

Bimbo, in a lengthy post via her verified Instagram page, stated that despite her gangstar personality, she is a  very emotional person.

The screen goddess recounted how she reached out to the veteran to work with her in her latest production and she accepted.

Bimbo was amazed and grateful that despite the series of production delays and procrastination, Shaffy was still eager to work with her and cleared a schedule for her sake.

The AMVCA award-winning actress was left more shocked when Shaffy refused to collect any fee and prayed for her like a mother would to her child.

    In gratitude, Bimbo wrote:

    “Emotional Appreciation Post!

Yeah, I’m a gangsta but sometimes I can be very very emotional.

“So I reached out to Aunty Shaffy. @iamshaffybello that I wanted to shoot a series. She said call me whenever you need me. I didn’t quite understand the extent to which she meant those words. Don’t get me wrong Aunty Shaffy is one of the most supportive humans on earth (story for another day).

“I had hoped and prayed my budget would be something she’d accept. Because why would you call the Queen and underpay her? I sent the script and asked her fee. She responded,

“Bimbo send the date and let me know when you’re ready. I was scared. We moved dates due to some situations. Still, she cleared a day she was meant to be resting to come on set.

“Shoot day, Aunty Shaffy calls to assure me she’d be there (not that I ever doubted). She came on set with everything. I mean everything!! Hair, clothes, makeup. In fact, all that we got for her was almost useless because she came fully prepared for her baby.

“She shot till nighttime and didn’t complain for a second. After the shoot I asked her again “Aunty how much should I bring”, she said Bimbo leave me alone and focus on your shoot. I broke down. Why did she think I deserved such love?

“Then she held me close and prayed for me. Prayed as a mother would to her child. Please help me tell @iamshaffybello I’m grateful. I had no idea my producer was recording. But thank God she did. Aunty Shaffy, I love you for life!”.

She came on time didn’t even panic and let me use her car. And she didn’t charge a dime. @lillyafe thank you, sis. I’m always on standby for you, I promise.”

  • Mmesoma: JAMB to sanitise nation’s public examination sector

Mmesoma: JAMB to sanitise nation’s public examination sector

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the report of the Commission of Inquiry set up by the Anambra State Government, as demanded by some Nigerians to look into the Mmesoma saga, has vindicated the board.

This is disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen by the board’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin in Abuja on Saturday.

Benjamin said that the report had further reinforced the position of the board that its system is not and cannot be compromised.

”It is to be noted that the board has built a reputation in terms of the conduct of credible examinations over the years and cannot afford to fail the nation at this critical juncture of its development.

”Therefore, we will not despair in spite of the painful realisation that some Nigerians would do anything to cast aspersions on the good name of the board.

”However, in spite of all the posturing of its detractors, the board remains resolute and uncompromising in its commitment to give Nigeria the best as far as credible and fair assessment is concerned,” he said.

Benjamin said the board is more than ever, determined to continue to forge ahead unmindful of the shenanigan of those who desire its fall.

”For the benefit of those who are still doubting the capacity of Ms. Mmesoma to commit this egregious crime and those who are pushing the narrative that the girl is just 16 years old even against all available data that indicate her age as an adult of 19 years, Ms. Mmesoma has owned up to committing the heinous infraction.

” This infraction was carefully crafted to destroy the very foundation of one of the nation’s agencies charged with the critical role of apportioning the limited educational resource of the nation based on fairness equity and integrity.

”It is, therefore, highly regrettable that some Nigerians, who do not believe in the strength and resourcefulness of their nation’s institutions, would latch on to any opportunity to pull the board down to their level of perfidy,” he added.

He called on Nigerians to learn from this as well as appreciate the genuine efforts of their critical national institutions to chart the course of national rebirth.

According to him, this attitude of attacking everything that makes the nation proud even by people who should know better is disheartening.

”The flip side of this is to infer that some ethnic jingoists had perhaps been elevated to public office and recognition beyond their mental and emotional capacity.

“The board would continue to be guided by the principles of inclusiveness and fairness as demonstrated by its seamless and unprompted deployment of a dedicated software called the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

”This, not only eliminates human interference in the admission process, but also engenders equity, fairness, transparency to all as we do not know tribe or religion,” he said.

He assured the public of the unwavering commitment of the board to upholding sanctity of the fabric of the nation’s educational system.

He appealed to well-meaning Nigerians, who may wish to support and encourage healthy competition by awarding scholarships and other honours to deserving candidates not to be discouraged.

He urged them to always endeavour to verify from the board any claim put forward by candidates.

He, therefore, warned candidates to stay away from fraudulent Apps that promise to enhance their scores as the end result will always be anguish and misery.

”The Mmesoma case should serve as an eye-opener especially to those who hold the view that anything goes in Nigeria.

”Ours is a great agency with great potential, which requires everybody’s collective and patriotic support as no nation develops beyond the wishes and trust of its people.

”The board, on its part, will continue to appreciate the unalloyed support of those who even risked being attacked  by the social media mob to stand on the side of truth.

”To those who have sent apologies after seeing the truth, we call on them to continue to believe in the capacity of the board to deliver.

”We commend Anambra State Government for its patriotic and unbiased posture all through the period of the national challenge.

  • Guru Maharaj Ji knocks EU on 2023 polls report

Guru Maharaj Ji knocks EU on 2023 polls report

The Founder of One Love Family Satguru Maharaj Ji has condemned the European Union (EU) Election Observation Mission (EOM) 2023 general elections report.

He described the report as biased, presumptuous, unsubstantiated, absurd, and unacceptable.

The Chief Observer of EU EOM, Barry Andrews, presented its final report on the 2023 elections in Abuja last week, highlighting areas where the electoral system should be reformed.

But Maharaj Ji, in a statement, noted the EU report shouldn’t have come after leaders and Presidents of various countries commended the election and congratulated winner of the election, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He stated with little coverage by the EU electoral mission during the elections across Nigeria, the reports by the mission were based on rumours, hearsay, unverifiable, and unsubstantiated orchestrated social media commentary.

According to him: “We receive with dismay and consternation the European Union Electoral Observers report on the 2023 general elections. It was biased, presumptuous, unsubstantiated, absurd, and unacceptable.”

“The report was in consonance with their desire. The report should not have come when all leaders and various presidents of various countries of the world have congratulated our president, Bola Tinubu, for winning the elections, including the judicial bodies and the Bar Association of Nigeria.”

“With the European Union Electoral Observer mission’s very little coverage and monitoring of elections in over 176,000 polling units across Nigeria, the report was based on rumours, hearsay, unverifiable, and unsubstantiated orchestrated social media commentary.”

“We want to totally disregard it. It is completely condemnable. It is wrong for them to give any final report when they know that the presidential election petition tribunal is still sitting and on course.”

“Therefore, they want to pervert the course of justice by coming at this time with a baseless, fraudulent, unsubstantiated report to thwart and influence the verdict of the tribunal. Nigeria is a sovereign nation, and they are not to teach us how to conduct our elections and govern ourselves.”

“Democracy has been our system of political administration since the beginning of creation. We have known them to play hide and seek where they have interests.”
