Charles Okocha rages after housekeepers offer ‘phenomenal daughter’ fufu

The housekeepers of comedians Charles Okocha drew his ire after they offered his ‘phenomenal doura’, Mercy a big bowl containing over a dozen wraps of large fufu to consume.

The excessively doting daughter, agitated by the sight of the meal, reprimanded the men for offering his ‘doura’ such ‘shit’ and reached for his phone to call the medics so as to ensure his precious child was alright.

“Hey, my phenomenal doura(the exact way Okocha pronounces the word, daughter)! Mama, I’ve been looking for you, common! How are you doing? I love you, mama. That’s my phenomenal daughter right here,” he stated, climbing down the stairs into the living room and planting a kiss on the child’s forehead who sat on the sofa, drinking water from a glass.

As he conversed with the daughter, the cook walked in with several wraps of fufu and egusi soup, placed them on the table in front of Mercy, and said; “Phenomenal, your food don ready o!”

Turning his back to look at the food, Okocha was alarmed at the sight of fufu leading him to inquire about to whom the meal belonged.

Okocha proceeded to probe the cook and called out to another, screaming at the top of his lungs as he questioned them over the mountainous ‘fufu’ placed before his child.

They maintained the enormous meal belonged to small madam, leaving the dotting father aghast as to how the ‘shit got into the crib in the first place’.

‘Daddy I’m craving for fufu’ was the next statement that was uttered startling the actor seeing it came from his ‘phenomenal doura’

He lets out a loud signature scream which he accompanies with a hilarious facial expression.

Then he said to the daughter, ‘Listen your cravings die right now. Ain’t no way you’re gonna eat this. Listen, what’s the difference between this and human hair?

He faces the men, accuses them of wanting to ‘kill his doura because they ain’t gat kids’, reaches out for the china ware with the fufu, and threw them on the floor.”

‘My phenomenal doura, ain’t no way she’s eating this shit, ain’t no way’, he continued to rant.

“I’m calling the doctors right now, my daughter is traumatised; she can’t see me.”

While waving his hand in from of his daughter, he asked, “Mama, can you see me?” While his teenage daughter simply let out a smile.”

  • Onoh hits Atiku over Tinubu, says PDP almost destroyed judiciary

Onoh hits Atiku over Tinubu, says PDP almost destroyed judiciary

President Bola Tinubu’s former spokesman in the south east Dr Josef Onoh has reminded the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar the party that attempted to destroy the judicial system.

He also assured Atiku the President does not intend and will not interfere in any way with judicial processes.

Onoh, in a response to Atiku’s allegation that President Tinubu’s Democracy Day speech was a veiled threat to the judiciary, said that he expects Atiku, the PDP or any other presidential candidate in the past election, including many Nigerians to know better.

Tinubu, in his first Democracy Day speech as 16th President, said: “It has become imperative to state here that the unnecessary, illegal orders used to truncate or abridge democracy will no longer be tolerated.’’

Atiku said President Tinubu had no constitutional powers to determine what an illegal or legal court order is, alleging the President’s speech has shown that he planned on running an autocratic government.

But Onoh reminded Atiku that the PDP destroyed Nigeria and the former Vice President played a major role while President Tinubu fought to entrench democracy which Atiku benefitted from.

He stated that Atiku’s attempt to misconstrue President Tinubu exposed the former vice president’s lack of knowledge and a poor student of history.

“In a nutshell the president’s statement simply meant ‘inconsistent court orders that can create conflict which in turn could truncate democracy,” Onoh educated Atiku.

On the issue of the judiciary and its precedents, Onoh told Atiku that the Judiciary is being threatened by incessant contradictory and conflicting court orders/decisions which not only cause problems amongst judiciary officers but raise serious concern and suspicions for those outside the bench which he said was what President Tinubu’s statement is encouraging to stop.

He said: “Atiku Abubakar should go down memory lane with the adventures of his political party, the PDP’s role in attempting to truncate democracy with their litany attempts at using the courts to create an epidemic of conflicting injunctions and ex parte orders on political cases.

“Finally the President will never interfere with the judiciary as hopelessly promoted by Atiku, rather President Bola Tinubu’s administration will engage all stakeholders and support the judiciary to ensure they strengthen disciplinary measures both at the Bar and on the Bench, as well as administrative steps taken by the NJC with the issuance of the Policy Direction of 11 May, 2022.

“Those paid to protect the guardrails of democracy hardly look in the direction of the courts for enemies. Nor do most people suspect that judges could become facilitators of authoritarianism and subtle promoters of anarchy. As custodians of the rule of law, judges and the courts over which they preside are the insurance for democracy’s ultimate good.

“The entire edifice of democracy thrives because the judicial system is expected to act in a manner that reassures ordinary men and women that the excesses of politicians will not be allowed to endanger law and order or the presumed equality of men.

“Hence President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will ensure that these rights and expectations are protected and preserved under his watch.’’

  • Alleged false claims: Court fixes Oct 18 for Ifeanyi Ubah’s arraignment

Alleged false claims: Court fixes Oct 18 for Ifeanyi Ubah’s arraignment

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos Tuesday fixed October 18 for the arraignment of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and his firm, Capital Oil and Gas, for allegedly making false claims to the Assets Management Corporation (AMCON).

Justice Nicholas Oweibo fixed the date following the Federal Government’s complaint that Ubah had repeatedly absented himself from appearing to take his plea on charge FHC/L/383C/2019.

The judge directed that a summons be issued to Ubah and his firm, through his counsel, for the lawmaker’s appearance in court on the adjourned date.

Justice Oweibo declined an application to issue a warrant for Ubah’s arrest, as requested by prosecution counsel Mr. Tunde Lawal of the law firm of Kunle Adegoke SAN & Co.

But the judge warned that the senator risked an arrest warrant should he fail to appear on the next date of adjournment.

The Federal Government initiated criminal proceedings against Ubah in 2019 in an eight-count charge on account of his indebtedness to AMCON.

The counts included conspiracy in making false claims in relation to the actual value of certain assets transferred to AMCON under a consent judgment obtained in 2012.

In previous proceedings, the Federal Government told the court that it had been unable to serve the defendants their October 30, 2019 charges, alleging that Ubah had been evasive.

When the matter came up on June 13, 2023, Lawal informed the court that the defendants had been served with the amended charge and hearing notice.

He reminded the judge that on the last adjourned date, Ubah was absent despite receiving the hearing notice.

On that basis, Lawal sought the issuance of a bench warrant against the lawmaker.

But defense counsel Mrs Ifeoma Esom opposed the prayer. She informed the court that the matter was for a report of settlement/plea adding that her team had only just been informed that the settlement had failed and that it was on the basis of settlement that Ubah was absent.

Countering her, the prosecutor noted that a settlement could not be reported on the matter, as it was a criminal case

He said parties could choose to settle outside the court but could not make that part of the business of a criminal court.

Lawal added that the best that could happen was a plea bargain while also noting that a settlement outside a court did not give 1st defendant Ubah, the authority to be absent from court.

Ruling, the court declined to issue a bench warrant but ordered that the summons be served on Ubah through his counsel.

The court also stated that if on the next adjourned date, Ubah failed to appear in court, a warrant would be issued for his arrest.

It adjourned proceedings till October 18 2023 for arraignment.

Counts one, three and four of the charge against Ubah read:

    COUNT 1

“That you, Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah, and Capital Oil and Gas Industries Ltd, sometime between 2012 and 2018, conspired in making false claims in relation to the actual values of certain assets transferred to AMCON under the consent judgment delivered in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/714/2012 on the 1st day of July 2013 in partial payment of the Indebtedness of Capital Oil and Gas Industries with a view to defeating the realisation of the said judgment debt of Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited to AMCON, then standing In the sum of N135billion.”

    COUNT 3

“That you, Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah, and Capital Oil and Gas Industries Ltd, sometime between 2012 and 2018 in Nigeria, being guarantor and debtor respectively, negligently, willfully or recklessly made a statement or gave information knowing it to be false in relation to the actual values of the assets transferred to AMCON in partial satisfaction of the outstanding loan of N135 Billion Naira owed to AMCON.”

    COUNT 4

“That you, Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah, and Capital Oil and Gas Industries Ltd, sometime between 2012 and 2018, did obstruct the implementation of the provisions of the AMCON Act vis-é-vis the realisation of part of your outstanding debt of N135 Billion Naira by frustrating the sale of the landed property at Banana Island to Dayspring Development Company Limited, which property you both transferred to AMCON.”
