It’s better for ladies to marry older men – Nedu

Media personality Nedu has argued it is better for ladies to date and marry older men instead of their contemporary.

According to him, marrying an older man would give a lady peace of mind and financial security.

He stated this on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast co-hosted by him.

Nedu however said ladies should only date or marry older men who are rich and can take care of them.

According to him: “Please, let me encourage you. If you have that older man that is eyeing you, that wants to marry you; he is 45, he is 50 and you are still 20 or something, you are an adult. Does he have the wherewithal to take care of you? If he does, go ahead.”

He said marrying a young man could be catastrophic as the man may still be exhibiting youthful exuberance.

He argued: “It’s suffering if you go for an older man that does not have money. You are wasting your time. Better go for a young guy.”

  • Court dissolves businesswoman’s 19-year-old “loveless marriage”

Court dissolves businesswoman’s 19-year-old “loveless marriage”

An Upper Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja, has dissolved a 19-year-old marriage between a businesswoman, Fawzah Alimi and her husband, Jibril Aladejana.

The Judge, Garba Gambo dissolved the marriage according to Islamic Law, following Alimi’s prayer for divorce on grounds of lack of love.

Gambo said that Aladejana refused to appear in court for once and did not send a message or representative to the court.

He held that the attitude of the respondent clearly showed he had no respect for the court nor love for the petitioner but wanted to torment and oppress her.

The judge however ordered the petitioner to pay the dowry of N20,000 to the registry of the court which would be kept for the respondent to collect and dissolved the marriage under “khuli” in Islamic law .

Khuli is a procedure through which a woman can divorce herself from her husband in Islam, by returning the dowry and everything she received from him during their life together, or without returning anything, as agreed by the spouses or judge.

Gambo said that filling a case of custody of children or maintainance while in marriage is premature and ordered the petitioner to file same afresh.

Earlier, the petitioner had told the court she got married to the respondent under Islamic law in 2004 and is blessed with six children ages 19, 18, 14,12,9 and 4.

She said that since she got married, the respondent had been living in Ekiti state while she stayed in Abuja where he visited from time to time.

Alimi further said she was tired of the marriage and all efforts made to make it work proved abortive.

She however begged the court to dissolve the marriage on grounds of lack of love under Khuli, in order to protect her faith.

The petitioner also sought the court to mandate the respondent to take responsibility of providing shelter, food, clothing and other necessities for their children.

The Executive Director of FAME Foundation and award-winning journalist, Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, has been appointed as the Representative of the President-elect on Media and Publicity Sub-committee of the Transition Presidential Council.

She remains one of the patriotic and unapologetic fans of President-Elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Shortly after the former Lagos Governor was announced as the winner of the 2023 Presidential polls by INEC, the energetic activist wrote on her Twitter @aderonkew wall:  “Tinubu will not give you assignments and sit down to watch. Tinubu is Mourinho, Klopp, and Guardiola in one person. He is a technician, tactician, strategist, and serial winner. He is reliable and will deliver the trophy of success and good governance. Congratulations, Nigerians……”

Despite being a journalist of repute, the gender rights advocate and sports development enthusiast, she took the responsibility of tackling fake news attempting to discredit the president-elect.

She could be described as one of the most versatile APC social media influencers with an interest in ensuring renewed hope in the country. Her Twitter page is a weapon of response to wailers, especially the ‘Obidients’ who are purveyors of fake news.

Recently, Aderonke confidently affirmed that the President-Elect will select at least 35% of women into leadership positions in the country following the number of women listed in the transition committee.

This followed Tinubu’s announcement of the Executive Director of Nigeria Export-Import Bank, Stella Okotete; APC National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu; and Zainab Marwa-Abubakar, daughter of the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), in the Transition Committee ahead of the May 29 inauguration.

Aderonke is a fighter and could be described as a strong woman in the midst of millions of active men. A multi-tasking woman of many parts with rare managerial skills and an unquenchable knack for success. Also, a regular facilitator of women’s empowerment across the country.

Her appointment as one of the sub-committee members of the Presidential Councils defines her level of capacity in handling issues.

Her responsibility on social media in addressing facts shows her class of Renewed Hope.

Arabirin Aderonke occupied the space of media when she boastfully declared her undying passion for the President-elect who is taking the oaths of office in a few days.

A fluently spoken Aderonke said: “I’m a woman and one of the reasons I stand for Asiwaju is because of his position for women. I support anybody that stands for women to get the necessary support, the needed freedom, empowerment, and mentorship. I can say to you that I am impressed and convinced that Asiwaju will take women along in his government,” she declared.

This declaration and support has taken Arabirin Aderonke a step further in becoming one of the true face, bold and vibrant women in the Presidential Transition Council.
