    Abductors laughed at our N1.2million contribution – AGN President

    The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas has stated abductors of two of their colleagues, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, did after they were informed of the amount contributed for their ransom so far.

    The abductors demanded $100,000 ransom for the movie stars kidnapped on their way back from a movie location on Friday in Enugu State.

    Rollas said the abductors laughed and mocked them after revealing they had only raised N1.2million for the ransom.

    According to him, they asked why the other celebrities busy posting them on their Instagram pages hadn’t contributed.

    “Good morning esteemed colleagues. This is to brief you about the happenings over five days now concerning our two colleagues who were abducted few days back”, he said.

    “The situation still remains the same but we are believing God to do His miracle and do wonders at this point in time.

    “Yesterday, while talking to the abductors, we were trying to explain to them that we were putting some funds together; we were contributing.

    “And we said we had about N1.2million and they started laughing at us. They started mocking us and said, “All those your celebrities posting us on Instagram, why haven’t they contributed?

    Upon the abductors’ reaction, Rollas noted: “And immediately, it got to me that these people are watching us. So, it’s not the best time for us to begin to circulate this information on Instagram.

    “Therefore, we have dedicated an account, the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu State chapter account, Zenith Bank for us to make little contributions.’’

    He further appealed to all actors to contribute to the cause and prayed such never befell anyone again.

    “I urge all of us to see to it that we make contributions because we do not know who will be in this kind of situation again. But we pray to God that none of us will have this kind of experience.

    I want to thank all of you for the calls, advice, contributions; showing that it’s our own problem. Thank you and God bless you,” he added.

    I’m not a Nigerian – Actor Aguba

    Actor Kenneth Jideofor aka Aguba has stated his ‘real’ citizenship, claiming he’s certainly not a Nigerian.

    Aguba, who was recently rescued from the streets of Enugu and given a home by General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, in one of the church’s free estates in Port-Harcourt, raised eyebrows after he revealed the kind of woman he desires to marry.

    This was right after the cleric pledged to sponsor the actor’s wedding to any interested woman.

    Aguda insisted on marrying a virgin from Israel even after a number of ladies expressed interest in him.

    In a recent interview with one Lucku Udu, Aguba claimed he wasn’t an Igbo man from Nigeria but an Israel citizen.

    Below is the conversation that ensued between the Udu and Aguba.

    Udu: Are you married?

    “I’m not married. I plan to marry but if it’s my choice. Marriage is choice, it is not anyhow,” he replied.

    Udu: Do you have any woman in mind?

    “Yes, I have a woman in mind. My place because, I’m not Igbo. I’m not an Igbo man. I’m not Nigerian. I am from Israel,” Aguba responded.

    “You’re from Israel?”

    The actor stated; “Yes!”

    Udu: So, you’re not even a citizen of Nigeria?

    Aguba returned: “At all! I’m not a citizen. I’m Israel citizen.”

    Udu: So, you have somebody in Israel that you’re looking at?

    “Yes, I need a woman in Israel because God created men and women. He didn’t say, “Na only this you marry…..just choosing…choose anyone you like”, Aguba retorted.

    Udu: So, the one you like is an Israel woman?

    Aguba replied: “Yes, Israel woman with virgin.”

    “Should she be tall or short?” Aguba answered; “Very tall and slim.”

    Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal on Tuesday approved the postings of five newly appointed Commissioners and the redeployment of others.

    Tambuwal, according to a statement by Muhammad Bello his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, appointed : Hon. Dahiru Yusuf Yabo as Commissioner for Water Resources; Hon. Akibu Dalhatu Commissioner for Information and Orientation; and Overseer of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development and Hon. Bashir Muhammad Lambara Commissioner of Solid Minerals.

    Others are: Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Dange, Social Welfare and Hon. Abdullahi Yusuf Hausawa, Home Affairs respectively.

    Multiple award-winning singer Tems has shared the story behind her song: “Mr Rebel”.

    The music star, during a recent performance in London with her mother in attendance, told the audience how they were going through a really hard time as a family.

    She got emotional during the show narrating how her mother suffered a broken leg after some burglars gained access to their residence and held them at knife point.

    Despite the hard times coupled with quitting her job, she informed her mom about her decision to release a song and got her full support.

    Eventually in 2008, the song, “Mr Rebel” was released, which she dedicated to her mom during her performance.

    She said: “My mom is here. Before I quit my job. My mom had broken her legs. We were really in a tough place and someone broke into her house and held her at knife point”, she said.

    “So I told her I wanted to do this thing. I want to actually release a song, I want to try. And even though we were struggling, she said, “Yeah I’m with you. I think this is what you’re meant to do.

    “It took me a lot to see my mom suffer. And so, I released a song called “Mr Rebel. And I’m dedicating this song to my mom.”

    Actor and producer, Yomi Fabiyi, has stated he is not worth $2.5m as reported by a blog.

    The controversial film star, reacting via his Instagram page denied having such an amount in his name.

    He stated he was born on May 1 and not May 31, noting he is over 40.

    Fabiyi further called on the blog to adjust the information especially the net worth or take down the report entirely.

    “1. Net worth here is fake 2. Age is wrong 3. Marital status is wrong. 4. State of Origin is correct,” he wrote.

    “Anyways, the focal point here is the net worth. Please, every actions and decisions taken on our behalf online have adverse effect I have never opened fake account in my life nor live a fake life. I travel with my truth, hardwork and guts only.

    “I am no much fan of excessive or over-blown packaging. 2.5million dollars, kuku kee me. I am not hungry and I’m not full either. Please oh whoever put these kind of info up should take it down or edit net worth as ‘Moderate’.

    His reaction is coming a few days after two movie stars Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel were kidnapped on their way back from a movie location in Enugu with their abductors demanding $100,000 ransom.

    Some of their colleagues aghast at the outrageous sum demanded said it was a direct result of the way kidnappers viewed actors based on the lavish lifestyles, a ‘farcade’ being exhibited by a good number of them on social media.

    Lizzy Gold had also denied claims that she wasn’t as affluent as the information on Wikipedia suggests about her.

    Tagging online publications as ‘exaggerations,’ the film star urged individuals to stop accepting them.
