“Furthermore, it is a rare chance given by the people to the new leaders to tackle, headlong, the factors militating against socio-economic development in the country. The Nigerian state must be administered true to the acclaimed federal status. The Government and the people of Ondo State hope to engage the Federal Government, vigorously, on these issues. There will be no compromise on this stance.”

“The people of this country expect a paradigm shift. The results of these elections represent their eloquent rejection of the politics of prebendalism which has made become despondent. The pervasive anger in the land dictated the voting pattern, largely. We must be courageous enough to dismantle all structures which stifle development.”

Former Secretary of Afenifere, Basorun Seinde Arogbofa, in a statement, described Tinubu’s victory as the emergence of a true federalist.

Arogbofa said the Yoruba leaders were convinced that Tinubu would be able to prevent the swallowing up of any of the major components that constitute the Federal nature of the country.

He said: “As Afenifere, we believe that Tinubu will be able to keep to our presentation to him during his campaign/courtesy visit to our Leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti.

“Our concerns of address are security economy, restructuring of the country, and restoration of unity in the country.

“We promise to work with him to turn things around for the better. We want to be vindicated at the end of the day.”

President, Ondo State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Otunba Olumide Araoyinbo, said Tinubu’s presidency would usher in prosperity for Nigerians and a new regime of prosperity for all Nigerians.

Araoyinbo, a former Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, the large turnout of voters and their peaceful conduct all throughout the period of the election was proof that the people of the state truly understand the meaning of democracy.
