    Stop avoiding your responsibilities by using paternity test excuse – Mary Njoku tells men

    Actress and filmmaker, Mary Njoku, has expressed her concern about men using DNA tests to evade responsibility for their children.

    She shared her thoughts on this issue on her Instagram page, where she observed the ongoing controversy surrounding DNA tests.

    Mary stated that for the results to be confirmed, the man must have carried out the test in at least three different hospitals to ascertain the accuracy.

    She said that many hospitals misdiagnose a lot of illnesses, adding that the probability of doing so for a DNA test is not far-fetched.

    In the video, she stated that she believes a responsible and loving father should not be afraid to carry out multiple tests to ensure that he is not disowning his biological children.

    She said: “Oga! Stop avoiding your responsibilities by using the paternity test excuse. Consider seeking second and third opinions. Misdiagnosis is very common. What if you are wrong.”

    Bewaji Ewatomi, the wife of controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has taken swift action following her husband’s demand over a social media post on her birthday.

    The Nation reported that Bewaji, in the post shared on her Instagram page, described herself as a ‘self-made’ queen and thanked God for the incredible journey of another age.

    She wrote: “Still my day ( The queen of herself), I am grateful for the incredible journey of the life and the person I have become. On this special day.”

    Portable who expressed his dissatisfaction in the caption, scolded his wife for taking pride in her achievements, stressing he is behind her success.

    The ‘Zazu Zeh’ hitmaker also warned his wife to calm down and avoid being used as a tool by his enemies against him.

    Also, during an Instagram live session, Portable threatened to send his wife packing from their matrimonial home if she did not edit or delete the social media post.

    In a new twist, a quick check on Bewaji’s Instagram page shows that she had deleted the birthday post.

    Bewaji also edited her Instagram profile bio to reflect what her husband demanded.

    Media personality, Oladotun Ojuolape popularly known as Do2dtun has spoken on the enormous backlash he received for stopping a DJ from playing his ex-brother-in-law, D’Banj’s song at his birthday party.

    Recall that the OAP who turned 40, held a birthday party over the weekend to celebrate his new age.

    In a video that made rounds online, Do2dtun had stopped a disc jockey from playing D’Banj’s songs.

    He said: “If I need to chase clout, I’ll use the big 3, not that… I say it as it is. it’s my birthday party & alternate sounds were the ones performing. I love them & they might not know how I feel but it’s best I set the record straight. It’s my party.. my rules

    Hip-hop star, Vic O, has announced his retirement from the music industry, citing the feeling of being undervalued by Nigerians.

    Speaking in a video message shared via his Instagram page recently, the rapper lamented the lack of support from fans and low patronage from show organisers.

    He said he deserves better than what he gets from Nigerians.

    May Edochie, the estranged wife of controversial actor, Yul Edochie, has penned down a comforting message to the families of those who lost their lives in the river including Pope Odonwodo known as Junior Pope.

    The Nation reported that Junior Pope’s death left the industry in shock when reports emerged that the actor drowned while filming with producer Adanma Luke.

    On Instagram, May Edochie spoke about the pains of losing a dear one while praying for strength for the bereaved families.

    May prayed that helpers will locate the bereaved to help them go through the dark time and speed up their healing process.

    Having been through the pains of losing her first son, the now mother of three said some pains can never go away because they are unforgettable.

    May Yul Edochie on Instagram, wrote: “Some pains can never go away. They are simply unforgettable. The only option is to find a way to live with them because we have to keep existing, which is an extremely difficult thing to do.

    “Dear Lord, please grant eternal rest unto the souls of the JP, the other tragic victims, and all the faithful departed.

    Big Brother Naija reality star and disc jockey, Tolani Shobajo popularly known as Tolanibaj, has claimed that some powerful individuals exploiting influencers for “sexual favours” in the country

    She alleged that some influencers are involved in questionable activities that they are not proud of.

    Taking to his Instagram page, Yul congratulated him for surviving death, offering prayers for his well-being.

    Speaking to Punch in an interview, she revealed that she aspired to inspire other women to break out of their comfort zones and embrace new experiences.

    Pelumi recounted facing various challenges during her journey, including an accident at one stage, before ultimately reaching Lagos on April 7th, 2024.

    She said: “I wanted to inspire more women to step out of their comfort zones and do things that were challenging for them. I wanted to explore the two places I consider home London and Lagos; as well as tour West African countries because not much is known about such places. It was important for me to do this and inspire other travellers so that they could step out of their comfort zones too.

    “The most difficult border to cross was the longest one I stayed at, and that was Liberia. I stayed there for two nights. Other challenges I faced included navigating it all on my own as a woman. I did not have a team, so I had to wear multiple hats and do it all flawlessly. I had to constantly keep people updated on social media, which was also a very important part of the trip, to inspire the next generation.”

    Speaking on her plans, the travel enthusiast said travelling is something she enjoys doing and will continue to do.

    She added: “I have always been a traveller, and I have been to over 80 countries. It is something I will continue to do, especially as regards the educational service and policy changes in border control. We need to do better to make sure it is freer to travel around Africa.”

    Adanma Luke, the producer of the movie ‘The Other Side of Life’, has broken the silence over the death of Junior Pope and three others.

    The Nation reported that Luke has faced intense criticism since the incident, which occurred when their boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State while returning from the location of the movie

    Adanma claimed that Junior Pope was provided with a life jacket but rejected it, citing its uncleanliness.

    Speaking in a video message shared via her Instagram account, she said: “My director was on a life jacket, Emeka the DOP was also on the life jacket. There was still one life jacket available, I don’t know who took it.

    “My producer manager said they saw life jackets hanging and they took them. He said he even asked late Friday to take one to Junior Pope but Junior Pope said it was dirty so he didn’t take it.

    “Those with life jackets survived the boat mishap. And they also told me that when they were in the water trying to survive, Junior Pope was also there asking, ‘Is everybody okay? Hope everybody is fine.

    “They said they even threw a gallon to him to use and hold himself which he was holding but all of a sudden they didn’t see him again.

    “It was when they came out that they noticed that he was no longer there. They said divers came and reduced some of them while other divers were still there trying to rescue others.

    “I said what could have caused this accident? They said they don’t know but TC was standing on the speed boat rigging bell.”
