    American actor, Charlie Sheen attacked by neighbour in Los Angeles

    Prominent American Actor, Charlie Sheen, was attacked and assaulted by his neighbour, Electra Schrock, at his Malibu home in Los Angeles.

    The police on Friday, confirmed the Schrock’s arrest, saying that she was with assault and burglary.

    Officers were called to the “Two and a Half Men” star’s home for a “battery/disturbance,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

    “Upon contacting the parties involved, deputies identified Charlie Sheen as a victim of assault,” the statement said.

    Suspect Electra Schrock was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, force likely to create great bodily injury, and residential burglary, the sheriff’s office said.

    According to Entertainment outlet, TMZ said Schrock, 47, is one of Sheen’s neighbors, who had “forced her way into his home and attacked him when he opened the door.”

    “We’re told she ripped Charlie’s shirt and attempted to strangle him,” the title reported, adding that Sheen was seen by paramedics but not taken to a hospital.

    TMZ said this was not the first confrontation between the neighbors, reporting that previous incidents had included a sticky liquid being squirted on Sheen’s car.

    Sheen has appeared in numerous films including “Platoon,” “Wall Street” (alongside his father) and “Young Guns.”

    His television career has included “Spin City” and “Two and a Half Men,” a series loosely based on his hard-partying reputation.

    The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has reiterated the determination of his administration to reform the hospital operations in the Territory.

    Wike said no effort would be spared to enhance the health and well-being of the Territory’s residents through efficient service delivery, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

    Dolapo Fasawe, the Mandate Secretary of Health Services and Environment Secretariat, in a statement on Saturday by her Special Media Assistant, Bola Ajao, affirmed this during an on-the-spot assessment of the 14 General and District Hospitals under the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

    Fasawe, who noted that the move becomes imperative to promote effective service delivery in line with world best practices, was quoted as saying, “These on-spot assessment visits were at the directive of the FCT Minister, Barrister Nysom Wike and crucial in our ongoing efforts to strengthen public healthcare in the FCTA.

    “The initiative aims to evaluate the current state of all healthcare facilities, identify areas for improvement, and ensure the delivery of quality healthcare to the public in line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, she said.

    Stating that the visit reflects the commitment of the government to foster a healthcare system that meets the evolving needs of the community, she added, “We are focused on identifying challenges, implementing necessary reforms, and ensuring that citizens receive the best possible care available at all times.

    “There is a need for quick interventions in areas such as facility infrastructure, human capacity, medical equipment, staffing, and standardization of operations.

    “Our future initiatives and reforms will be guided by the insights gained from the visit while appealing to the public to desist from attacking health workers and assuring them of the commitment of the administration to bequeath to them a responsive and effective healthcare system”.

    The Mandate Secretary commended the healthcare workers and pledged further support while emphasizing the government’s dedication to building a resilient healthcare system for citizens and families.

    During the first phase of the visit that took the team that included the acting Director General, Hospital Management Board, Dr Olugbenga Bello and others to Rubochi, Kwali, Abaji, Zuba, BWari and kubwa general hospitals, Fasawe interacted with the healthcare professionals, inspected the facilities, reviewed operational procedures and identified challenges for prompt interventions

    The statement indicates that the assessment tour’s second phase for the remaining eight hospitals is scheduled for next year.

    Tope Alabi’s Mardebra foundation gives Christmas presents to widows

    The Mardebra foundation established by the gospel musician, Tope Alabi and her family, organised an event to support widows on Friday, December 22.

    The event tagged, “Comforting widows hearts for Christmas” was held at Room 22 event centre, Abiodun Kuye rd, new Oko-Oba, Abule-Egba, Lagos.

    The founder of the foundation, Tope Alabi, said the gesture was to reduce hunger and help out widows during this Christmas period due to the current economic situation.

    Presenting the raw food items, popcorn making machine and cash to the less privileged, in Abule Egba, Lagos, she said the foundation exists to give back to the society.

    The musician also spoke about the fact that part of her motivation to help out the less privileged is because she grew up in poverty and that she “knows what poverty is.”

    Speaking on the vision of the foundation, she said: “Every year since its inception 11 years ago the foundation has organized events to help widows and orphanage homes.”

    She further highlighted that the goal of the foundation is to “lay down a template for her kids who the foundation is named after in the first place.”

    One of the beneficiaries of the event, a widow with three kids Mrs. Adeyemi Rachel said that “she was grateful to Mrs. Tope Alabi for her heartfelt love for widows and she prayed that God will promote and make her greater.”

    Another widow with five kids, Mrs. Sola Olajide said she learnt about the event from her church, she also prayed for the gospel musician expressing appreciation for her gesture.

    The event was attended by over 300 widows who were given Popcorn machines, rice, and cash. Many of the other attendees were grateful to be in attendance and sang along to the musicians worship songs.

    Lateef posted loved-up pictures of the duo on his Instagram account on Friday to mark two years of marriage.

    The 39-year-old who described Bimpe as caring, added that no greater light illuminates his path more than the love and change she brought into his life.

    Shatta Wale blasts colleagues for calling for reduction of Nigerian music on Ghana airwaves

    Popular Ghanaian artist, Shatta Wale, has blasted his countrymen musicians for clamouring for the reduction of Nigerian music on Ghana’s airwaves.

    The ‘Dancehall king’, in a series of X posts, expressed his belief that even if Ghanaian media implemented the local content policy, Nigerian music would still overshadow them.

    He said the policy won’t have much effect in the streaming era as the government can’t force Ghanaians to stream Ghanaian music even if the local content policy is implemented for airplay.

    The singer claimed it will take Ghana “roughly the year 5050” to catch up with Nigeria in terms of music.

    Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, has taken to social media to announce that she accomplished everything she set out to do at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates amid large criticisms she received.

    The Nation reported that there was pandemonium on the internet space over Toke Makinwa’s inclusion in Nigeria’s 1411-man delegation to COP-28, with many questioning her role at the summit.

    Speaking in the latest episode of her podcast, TokeMoments, Makinwa said she started taking the backlash seriously when “important people” started calling her.

    Her guest on the show, actress Ini Edo asked: “How did your attendance of the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai go? Did you get into the conversations from the panels?”

I walked into this hotel in Dubai where they were a lot of important people, all of them have seen the backlash and they started calling me ‘item seven’ and it was funny. We all just laughed. It was so funny.”

    Actor Martini denies alleged love affairs with Toyin Abraham

    Nollywood actor and movie producer, Martini Animashaun, has denied allegations of having a romantic affairs with his colleague, Toyin Abraham.

    Recall that Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, in a post via Instagram, alleged that Martini, a manager to Toyin in 2016, was having a romantic relationship with the actress.

    However, in a statement via Instagram on Friday, Martini slammed Yomi, saying he was never involved in an alleged affair with Toyin Abraham.

    He noted that his colleague, Yomi, was being petty and seeking attention with a false narrative about him.

    He wrote: “Attn: @realyomifabiyi Yomi Fabiyi, aka, Ikebe Super Clarification Regarding Recent Rumours Peddled By Yomi Fabiyi

    “Recently, I was reliably informed by a relative known to my colleague, Yomi Fabiyi and I about my involvement in an alleged affair with actress Toyin Abraham and ‘our’ participation in running a blog (Gistlover). I want to address these rumors.

    “While I am aware of Mr. Fabiyi being an attention whore and a petty human devoid of reasoning as to how his behavior can affect another human, I have decided to clarify things.

    “I maintain a professional relationship with Toyin Abraham. I managed Toyin’s career in 2016. Nothing besides a working relationship exists between me and Toyin; Yomi, your tales are baseless and lack any factual foundation.

    Media personality and TV host, Frank Edoho has claimed that a man can cheat on his woman with another lady but still has overall love for his woman.

    He asserted that while a man can cheat freely without no strings attached, it is “impossible” for a woman in love to cheat.

    The legendary presenter was featured as a guest in the latest episode of the Bahd And Boujee Podcast co-hosted by actress Moet Abebe and reality star Tolanibaj.

    Edoho said: “A man can cheat and still be in love with his woman, not the woman he cheated with. But a woman can’t be in love with someone and go and cheat.”

    The co-host, Abebe rebuffed: “I disagree. Uncle, no! I feel that there are women who can cheat without any emotional attachment. They are just cheating for whatever reason because they want to. And they also exude masculine energy.”

    Edoho also disclosed during the show that he has never been sacked from any job before.

    He stated this while reacting to speculations that he was “fired” by the organisers of the popular television quiz, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’.

    According to him, he stopped hosting the quiz because the organisers rested on the competition.
