Three housemates, including Yerins, Beatrice and Niyi have been evicted from the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye edition at the first eviction show on Sunday night.

Four new housemates also made a surprise entry into the house on the same night.

The host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, introduced them as Michael, Kayvee, JMK and Queen.

Meet the new housemates:

•  Michael

Full name: Michael Chukwuebuka Ngene

“A bad boy with magnetism” and “open minded,” are some of the words Ebuka uses to describe himself. This 28-year-old musician and aspiring filmmaker was born in Lagos, then moved to the United States of America as a teenager – but is currently based in Abuja.

Calling himself a “curious participant of life”, Ebuka likes to explore interests and people with an open mind and maintains he is dedicated to growing into the best version of himself. He believes being the product of two different societies; America and Nigeria, has created an interesting perspective on life that many viewers will be able to relate to.

In his free time, you will find Ebuka writing, creating music or pursuing his interests in cinematography.

•  Kayvee

Full name: Gbolahan Ololade

Originally from Ogun State, 26-year-old Kayvee currently resides in Lagos, where he works as a photographer. His hobbies include playing football, clubbing and playing cards.

He believes he is innovative and fun to be around, and says people call him handsome. Kayvee says his career high point is when he had the opportunity to photograph one of Nigeria’s biggest artists.

While he likes to experiment with styling and colouring his hair, he says that harassment in the streets has put a damper on this aspect of his life.

•  JMK

Full name: Jumoke Zainab Adedoyin

A 23-year-old law graduate from Kwara State, JMK has aspirations of becoming a certified member of the Nigerian Bar. Apart from music, dancing and traveling, she enjoys cooking and the simple pleasures of life.

She describes herself as “a sexy, confident and adventurous foodie” who loves to help people.

She believes her presence in the Big Brother Naija House will help build her brand and will help position her to advance further in her career.

In addition, she wants the exposure and life changing experience that the platform provides, to assist in her advocacy for social issues.

•  Queen

Full name: Queen Mercy Atang

Queen, 26, is a philanthropist and aspiring politician. She hails from Akwa Ibom State and has a mom she adores and three beautiful siblings that she loves.

She is a Tansian University graduate and an international beauty queen. Queen describes herself as “beautiful, courageous, and fearless” and reckons being raised by a single mother taught her a lot about life.

An ambitious and driven person who values everyone around her, she considers herself a true leader and an excellent communicator who is very calculating, loyal, and peaceful.

Yerins aka Polymath has been evicted from the BBNaija Shine Ya Eyes House after polling the lowest votes from viewers and voters.

The housemate will join ex-housemates evicted first in their respective editions.

Yerins’ eviction was announced by the show host, Ebuka Obi Uchendu during the second BBNaija Shine Ya Eye Sunday Live eviction show on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

In a new twist, two new housemates, Kayvee and JMK, were introduced into the house after 14 days.

Yerins survived 13 days in the BBNaija Shine Ya House and participated in two Head Of House games, four diary sessions and two Saturday night parties.

On Monday, August3, 2021 after the 22 housemates had spent a total of seven days, five housemates were put up for possible eviction by the two wildcards, Pere and Maria, who had nomination edge over other 20 housemates for managing to conceal their identities for one whole week.

The housemates up for possible eviction as nominated by the two wildcards were Beatrice, Yerins, Whitemoney, Yousef and Niyi.

The sixth edition of the BBNaija reality TV show tagged Shine Ya Eye, kicked off with a double opening ceremonies on Saturday, July 24, and Sunday, July 25, 2021.

The second Saturday night party in the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye produced many dramatic events and twists.

For the party, interesting activities went down at the purpose-built club after the 22 housemates dressed in Abeg customised attires.

At the first party, housemates were described as boring and not totally in sync with the music despite a good performance from DJ Big N.

However, the story changed as DJ Nana’s performance at the second Saturday Night Party was complemented by the ceaseless flow of Gordon’s dry gin mixes.

After 13 days in the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye house, the 22 housemates have let down their guards.

Drinks flowed ceaselessly and it is believed that some housemates – most especially the females – had too much to drink.

Here are some of the activities that happened at the Saturday night party.

 

• Saga stuck to Nini

All through the three hours of the second Saturday night party, Nini and Saga were inseparable. The two danced and rocked the party in their own world. Even when other housemates tried distracting the two, they quickly find a way to return to each other’s arms as they danced like a couple waiting destined the altar.

• Niyi ignores marital status to rock the party

Niyi ignored his marital status after 12 days in the house to enjoy the party. He had refused to dance with the female housemates at the first Saturday night party but that changed as he not only drank ceaselessly, he took turns in rocking female housemates like Nini, Saskay and Jackie B.

• Beatrice drank and danced to satisfaction

Beatrice was a lone ranger at the second Saturday night party. However, she had fun in her bubble. Sparingly dancing with other housemates, Beatrice kept consuming the freely flowing alcohol and showcasing her ability to groove all through the three hours of fun. She seemed to have gotten over missing home and gone all out for the party.

• Cross is a party beast

When Cross told viewers he could party six days in a week non-stop, not many believed him but he has shown that he’s nothing but a party beast. Cross, who had so much to drink and kept serving others like one with an intent to get all the housemates inebriated, rocked all the female housemates to spice up the party.

 

• Between Maria, Pere and Cross

Saturday night parties in BBNaija house come with fun and drama and one was between Maria, Pere and Cross. Maria had barely enjoyed dancing time with Pere but with caution when Cross, at different times, engaged Maria in some salacious moves. Wriggling her waist and body to the demands of Cross got Pere a tad jealous. Pere’s move to enjoy such erotic dance moments with Maria was not granted and the two returned hostilities.

• Jackie B, Saskay, Peace threw caution to air

Three housemates who truly threw caution into the air for the second Saturday night party are Jackie B, Saskay and Peace. They danced and drank with little or no caution all through the night. Almost all the male housemates had a taste of their erotic dance moves at one point or the other.

 

• Whitemoney, JayPaul, Boma rocked

Whitemoney, JayPaul, and Boma were also some of the male housemates that gave life to the second Saturday night party. While JayPaul kept exhibiting his dancing abilities with Whitemoney and Liquorose, Boma kept enjoying the different erotic dance moves by female housemates while consuming alcohol, which flowed ceaselessly. Whitemoney, on the other hand, kept drinking and acting goofy all through the party.

Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye entered its second week on Sunday, August 1 after fun-filled activities. The 22 housemates set viewers’ tongues wagging from the first week and the second week had them taking it to another height.

Here is a quick recap of the first and second week of the show.

 

Week One

After a double opening ceremony, 22 housemates got into the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye house. The week kicked off with the male and female housemates reconciling after a prank that almost went wrong on the female housemates.

In the first week, Peace emerged as the first Head of House of the season six edition of the show. Peace picked Yousef as her deputy and she steered the week to the best of her knowledge.

In the first week, Peace formed an accord with housemates that included Saga, Nini, and Arin. She also extended her grace towards Boma, Pere, Maria, Jackie B and Sammie.

Beatrice had a very traumatic first week in the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye house. She seemed to be the target of the HOH and her clan as they attacked each of her moves, even when she was perceived wrongly.

The wildcards were another highlight of the first week. The 22 housemates struggled to find and reveal the two wildcards but to no avail as the wildcards, Pere and Maria, smartly evaded suspicion from most of the housemates.

In the first week, some of the housemates toyed with the idea of a relationship even as it was revealed that many of the housemates were either divorced or single with a child. From Sammie and Angel to Pere and Maria, the housemates tried to get to know themselves while revealing their emotions to their preferred housemates.

The week ended with the housemates winning their first Abeg week task even after being rewarded with different amounts of Abeg Nairas that left Emmanuel the richest after winning a bonus pay from Biggie.

The housemates also had their first jacuzzi party in the house with drinks and barbeque flowing ceaselessly after Biggie was impressed by their accomplishments in the first task.

 

Week Two

Week two of the BBNaija Shine Ya Eye kicked off with the revelation of the two wildcards – Maria and Pere – by the live eviction show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

After the revelation of the two wildcards, the housemates transferred their anger to the most traumatised housemate in the first week, Beatrice. Her crime was that she was perceived to have wanted to stand up when Ebuka asked the two wildcards to stand up only to find out that she was merely adjusting her microphone.

Second Sunday night also had a history in the journey of the housemates as it witnessed the first truth or dare game after Ebuka advised the housemates to cheer up and stop being boring. Taking to Ebuka’s advice, some of the 22 housemates decided to enjoy a game. Niyi had opted out of the show saying he wasn’t ready to do anything that will jeopardise his marriage.

Pere’s decision to go through with the dares that include kissing Beatrice and allowing Angel to ruminate inside his trousers left a dent in his relationship with Maria. The dent, which was manifested in the second week, seems to be permanent even as Pere confesses his love to Maria to other housemates.

The same game got Sammie thinking again over his relationship with Angel, so much that he decided to profess his love for the first HOH, Peace.

The Head Of House game saw Boma emerging as the winner. This is coming a week after Boma found it hard to roll a six in the die game and looked helpless when the game was over.

In the second week, Biggie also expressed his powers and a low tolerance for disobeying his house rules as he gave the housemates a taste of how drastic he could be.

He kicked off with a punishment for the 22 housemates for failing to heed Angel after he had instructed her to tell the housemates to prepare for the first Sunday live eviction show. In the same week, Maria got the first warning for the famous microphone infringement after less than 14 days in the BBNaija house.

Another highlight of the second week was the nomination edge that the wildcards had over other housemates. Biggie chose only the two wildcards to nominate housemates for possible eviction. This saw JayPaul, Whitemoney, Beatrice, Yerins, and Niyi emerging as the nominated housemates. However, Boma, who had emerged the second Head Of House and first male in the second week, used his veto power to save JayPaul and replace him with Yousef.

The second week ended with a Saturday night party that was spectacular and had DJ Nana entertaining the housemates.
