BBNaija Lockdown: Wathoni in a war of words with Vee over bed space

    Gbenga Bada

BBNaija Lockdown Housemates, Vee and Wathoni, recently gave viewers and fans a drama to talk about after their fight over bed space.

On their 16th day in the House, Vee and Wathoni ignored their manners and threw caution into the air over bed space and arrangements.

Vee had attacked Wathoni for not following her procedures to keep the bed space and arrangement.

The mettle Wathoni won’t let this slide as she took on Vee to reciprocate to the best of her ability.

Both Housemates were shouting as they exchanged expletives over the bed spaces and arrangements.

Those who share the same room with the warring Housemates, tried to calm their nerves.

Earlier in the show, Wathoni had recoiled into her shell after she got into a fight with Ka3na.

The two had gone at each other but Ka3na wouldn’t let her have her way which got at her until the exit of Ka3na on Sunday, August 2.

The drama in the BBNaija lockdown is beginning to excite fans and viewers as Nengi has succinctly defined her relationship with Ozo.

On their 16th day in the House, the 23-year-old ex-MBGN finalist bluntly told Ozo, whom many viewers believe is her crush, they are just friends and nothing more.

During a conversation, Nengi clearly stated she isn’t ready for any relationship in the House.

“I told you I don’t want to be in a relationship,” Nengi said to Ozo.

Responding to Nengi’s declaration, Ozo simply noted he wasn’t asking her out saying, “I get that part though but who wants to date you?”

Nengi continued: “You don’t want to date me, but why are you catching feelings?”

Nengi went further to inquire why Ozo stopped talking to her because Prince declared his interest in having a relationship with her.

Nengi however insists that they only had a platonic conversation so she doesn’t expect Ozo to see her as his lover.

“I think all our conversations were purely platonic, I just found you cool. I mean I’m friends with all the guys. I felt like I could be closer to you.

“You don’t have to stop talking to me. It’s immature. So many people ended their birthday wishes to Prince with “I love you”, so why’s mine different?

“It’s hard to know who’s your friend. I can’t be friends with you now because there’s always some tension”.

  • Five juicy gists from BBNaija first Saturday party

Five juicy gists from BBNaija first Saturday party

    By Gbenga Bada

The first edition of the highly -anticipated Saturday night party of #BBNaija Lockdown edition has come and gone but not with juicy gists and memories.

The party – as always – was not devoid of characteristic dance moves, binge drinking, and misbehaviours, most especially the after drama.

Here are five of the juicy gists from the party:

*Neo couldn’t hide his joy for groove

Neo is one of the Housemates that couldn’t hide his joy and love for a good groove. With OmahLay and DJ Sarz hitting the Housemates with good vibes and jams, Neo threw away caution to enjoy the best of the night.

The sheer madness of the moves Neo considers to be dancing on the party is a memory that will linger on for many editions of BBNaija yet to come.

From his ground thrusts to side twerks, Neo’s rhythmic gyrations are anything but conventional and utterly unforgettable.

    *Bright O strips for Dorathy

Who would have thought that after all that preaching and those deep intellectual thoughts, Bright O could become the wildest party animal at the party?

Bright O’s behaviour during the party had Housemates and viewers wondering what went wrong. Bright O shocked fellow Housemates and viewers on the dance floor when he removed his shirt and began dancing wildly.

He seemed to have enjoyed himself as he strips for Dorothy during their wild dance. However, in the middle of the dance, he stopped abruptly and wore his shirt again as quickly as he took it off.

    *Erica, Kiddwaya and the party

It is unsure why but Erica made Kiddwaya look unserious on the dancefloor. Kiddwaya attempted unsuccessfully to make a play for Erica but he failed spectacularly.

However, Kiddwaya’s affections were sought after by TolaniBaj who kissed him as they danced slowly but this only scared him away for the rest of the night.

Some viewers felt it was disrespectful while others thought it was a regular part of the courting process. After the party, the couple spent the rest of the evening in the kitchen wrapped around each other before falling asleep on the same bed.

    *Eric leaves Lilo breathless

It’s without a doubt that Eric and Lilo are into each other. Aside from forming the earliest ship – relationship – in the house, the pair had the party to thank for totally unwinding without hindrance.

Just as Eric couldn’t get enough of Lilo at the party and on the dance floor, Lilo was left breathless with the moves and signals from Eric. The two retired to bed early and didn’t catch much of the after- party drama.

*Nengi ends rivalry with Erica on the dance floor

Nengi and Erica seem to have buried the hatchet on the dance floor after what seemed like a love triangle involving Ozo.

Nengi and Erica grew to appreciate each other because of their mutual twerking talent.

This led to a conversation after the party that completely changed the dynamic of their previous understanding and cemented a new concrete bond between the lovely ladies.

The pair used the quiet time after the party to affirm their mutual respect and assured one another that there is no jealousy or malice between them.

  • #BBNaija: Ka3na, Kaisha, Lucy, Wathoni in first-week drama

#BBNaija: Ka3na, Kaisha, Lucy, Wathoni in first-week drama

    By Gbenga Bada

One of the major highlights of every edition of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show is the drama.

The drama in the BBNaija House varies from little or inconsequential reasons to emotional reasons and most times, the need for survival.

And for the BBNaija Lockdown edition, the drama began just a few days in the House – even though the Housemates claim to be showing so much love to one another.

Here’s a quick recap of the dramas in the house so far:

    *Lucy vs Kaisha

On their sixth day in the House, a drama ensued between Lucy and Kaisha following a used and abandoned sanitary pad found in the bathroom.

Lucy picked a fight with Kaisha over the act and while everyone tried to make her see reasons why she shouldn’t have made the issue public, Lucy was ready to shout to whoever cared to listen that she’s the last person other Housemates would want to pick a fight with.

Spoiled for a fight, Kaisha – who many saw as the victim – threw caution into the air to drag Lucy hurling unpalatable words at Lucy.

“Don’t try me o, you don’t know me, old cargo,” Kaisha shouted back.

Viewers started noticing the tension between Lucy and Kaisha on their second day in the House when Lucy alleged that Kaisha and Laycon were always moody and keeping away from others.

She stressed Kaisha was always trying to keep her space. Though Dorothy rose to Kaisha’s defense, Lucy sounded unconvinced.

    *Lucy vs Lilo

Another drama that had involved Lucy again is with Lilo. The first fight of the BBNaija Lockdown edition was brought to viewers by Lucy and Lilo during a get-to-know-me- session. Lilo was sharing her life story when she overheard Lucy say “abeg, this thing should be over.”

An angry Lilo couldn’t hold her anger and confronted Lucy, who claimed she wasn’t referring to Lilo.

Lilo and Lucy exchanged bitter words with each drawing the line. Lucy, whose loud voice doesn’t help in most of the dramas she has gotten herself into, finds it hard minding her business.

    *Ka3na vs Wathoni

On the fifth day in the House, Ka3na was caught in a shouting match with the current Deputy Head of House, Wathoni. The two got into a heated argument over a Trivia question, which saw the Black team winning.

“Am I your mate?” She kept asking Wathoni and went on to say, “I’m not the one to be played with, I’ll finish you.”

The meek Wathoni couldn’t hold back her emotions, crying for the better part of the day. She also refused to eat the delicious noodles meal prepared by Ka3na.

BBN: Minister did not order stoppage

Reports that Information and Culture Minister Lai Mohammed ordered the popular reality show, Big Brother  Naija (BBN) yanked off the airwaves are not true, sources said on Friday.

The reality show, which entered its fifth season on July 20, remains one of the most watched programmes on cable TV in Nigeria.

The report had alleged that the minister directed the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to shut down the show, for fear that it could help in spreading COVID-19 because of the close interacting among participants.

An official of the ministry who does not want to be named told The Nation yesterday that the programme would not be running by now if truly any such directive had been given.

The source also said that government’s approval for the programme was sought by the company running it and was duly given.

“That the programme is still running shows that there is no iota  of truth in the report,” the source said.

The 20 Housemates of the BBNaija Lockdown edition lost their first Wager presentation on Thursday.

The wager loss is due to their failure to earn enough points during the presentation in the arena on Tuesday night.

The Thursday Night Wager presentation allowed the Housemates to double their BB Naira and get other emoluments from Biggie.

The wager task is the first in the many in the coming weeks as Housemates will start weaning off the show.

Lockdown Housemates will be tasked with various challenges to earn their weekly wager used to purchase and secure groceries, clothes and other items for the following week.

Following the loss of the wager challenge, the 20 Housemates were unable to increase their BB Nairas.

For the first wager task, they were tested on their knowledge about one another in line with the get-to-know-me theme of the week.

One would have thought this task would be a walk in the park as they seem to be bonding so well but the reverse was the case.

However, Biggie asked Neo and Bright O to apologise to their fellow Housemates for incurring a fine before reversing the action.

The offenders were pardoned by Biggie, who lifted the penalty and forgave the two housemates.

  • BBNaija Lockdown: Nengi emerges first House head

BBNaija Lockdown: Nengi emerges first House head

    Gbenga Bada

Twenty-two year- old Rebecca Nengi Hampson from Bayelsa has emerged head of the BBNaija Lockdown edition Housemates.

She emerged after all the Housemates gathered to vote for a ‘Head of House.’

As requested by Biggie, Nengi chose Wathoni to be her deputy.

It was a game of dice rolling and boxes with instructions to determine the first HoH in the BBNaija Lockdown edition.

All the 20 housemates took turns in throwing the dice and participated in the game at the kick-off.

At the end of the participation, Neo and Nengi became the two major contenders for the HoH title.

Neo and Nengi became the two Housemates, who were in contention for the most important position in the House after they tied at box 18.

The two candidates rolled the dice again but ended in another tie. Yet again, the two contenders ended in a tie.

    Nengi eventually won the game.

With this development, Nengi heads the House into this week’s task and activities.

Earlier in their second day in the BBNaija house, Biggie reminded the 20 Housemates that they’re in competition with the launch of the first Head of House challenge in the season.

As usual, the Head of House (HoH) title comes with some extra privileges. Nengi gets to sit on the throne-like HoH chair, gets information directly from Big Brother, and even reads out the day’s task to the other housemates.

In the previous editions of the show, the previous Heads of House would get a tastefully designed room to themselves. This privilege was one of the reasons the HoH challenge is usually hotly contested for.

Here’s what BBNaija Lockdown First HoH will enjoy

This year, the HoH’s privileges will see some major upgrades.

From today, July 20, the first Head of House, , will get to enjoy a lounge all to himself or herself.

The HoH lounge will have a living room area, bedroom, fitted bathroom, and a private bathroom.

Additionally, whoever emerges will be allowed to select a deputy to assist in the execution of duties and might get to add some BBNaira to both HoH and Deputy’s Betway Wallets.
