  • #BBNaija: Again, Seyi wins Veto Power of Chance

Housemate, Seyi Awolowo has won the Veto Power of chance badge in the ongoing BBNaija season four.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this was the second time Seyi won the badge, weeks after the controversy that trailed his first win.

In July, Seyi failed to use his chance card to save himself from nomination, causing Biggie to ban him from participating in the challenge till the end of the show.

He was also fake-evicted alongside Tacha as part of punishment for refusing to use the power of the card. Soon after, Seyi was returned to the house and allowed to participate in future challenges.

On Sunday night, he joined the other housemates to test his chance at winning the coveted badge.

As usual, the Veto Power Game is a Game of Chance with each Housemates having an equal probability of winning.

For having the least amount of marbles at the end of the Game, Seyi has become the Veto Power Holder for this week.

There were twelve stools with a silver cup on it. The Housemates were to pick a stool and stand in front of it for the game.

Once they chose their playing stand, they were not allowed to change or swap position. Housemates were to pick a card from the magic hat which housed two types of cards.

The first type of cards was those with single digits’ zero to six while the second type of cards had the instruction “pass two marbles to the person next to you.”

Having understood the rules of the Game, the Housemates proceeded to pick a card and place the corresponding number of marbles into their cups.

In the first round, the Housemates with the most marble were eliminated. In this case, it was Ike and Mike.

The process was repeated in the second round and the Housemates collected marbles which were added to the previous ones they had.

When this round was over and the scores tallied, Venita and Omashola were out of the game for having the most marbles.

The third round saw Frodd, Seyi, Tacha, Cindy, Khafi, Elozonam, Mercy and Diane go through the card and marble process again.

At the end of the third round, there was a tie between Seyi and Tacha. Both Housemates had three marbles each which made the game extend into another round.

This time, Seyi won as he had the least amount of marbles. With his position, he also earned 100 Bet9ja Coins and bonus coins for his teammates.

The Veto Power Holder will make a Save and Replace decision on Nomination Night on Monday.

  • Mixed feelings over moral effect of BBN on youths

Some concerned mothers on Sunday, expressed divergent concerns over moral impact of ongoing Big Brother Naija (BBN) TV reality show on the children and, especially, among youths in the country.

They spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) bordering on the alleged recent repeated dexual actions by some members of the house during the programme.

Some of them said that the recent sex plays going on among the house mates had raised concerns over the future moral status of youths in the country.

The immediate past president of the Christian Mothers at SS. Joachim and Anne Catholic Church Ijegun, a suburb of Lagos, Mrs. Josephine Eguavon, told NAN that the ongoing programme would implant some immoral values in most children and youths.

“Personally, I see it as breaking the seed moral discipline had already planted in our youths.

“For our country Nigeria, I feel when the child leaves the home front, the society that should have improved on the much the home had instilled in the child. Unfortunately, it has nothing to offer,“ she said.

According to her, the handiwork of our leaders and those who directly or indirectly fund BBN should be censored and see the content value more than the economic value.

A fashion designer and mother of two, Mrs Juliet Edozie, told NAN that the programme had no moral value, adding that it was adding more problems to the challenge of rape.

“We are trying to curb the frequent rape cases in the country and another programme is bringing back such thoughts, it should be trashed before our children become loose,” she told NAN

Also speaking, a pastor, Mr Tunde Awofade, said that such programmes should be aired only late at nights when children and youths would have gone to bed.

“It is very difficult to control what our children watch in this age of technology, the best thing is to restrict the programme to very late at night when our children must have slept,“ he told NAN.

However, Mrs Patricia Orji, a grandmother, described the project as a vocation rather than a moral disadvantage to the youth.

Orji, popularly called, `Ezinne` said the participants went there for economic gains and were ready to do anything that would earn them a win.

“Who will spoil, will spoil, though a few just go there to do rubbish, but nobody was forced to go there. What about children in school, do you know what they are doing?

“These ones see it as a job that will put food on their tables; children of these days, it is the grace of God they need not to go astray even when you lock them inside the house .

“In fact, I don’t see anything wrong in it, who will spoil will spoil.

“Even some married people live reckless lives, talk less of people who came out to struggle to get this opportunity and people will say it is bad,“ she said.

Two BBN housemates were alleged to have indulged in the immoral act on three occasions since the reality show commenced about two months ago.

As a consequence of her disregard and insolence towards authority, Big Brother issued Tacha her second strike in the game.

According to Biggie, he found her guilty of disrespect as well as undermining the world of Big Brother.

He also mentioned that she showed continuous disrespect and rudeness to the Authority, like when asked ‘why’ and thinking it was witty to describe the letter ‘Y’.
