Never will. And I’ve also never use somebody as a rebound. If I still love somebody, I’m not involving myself in anything else.

“Like I said, if this was ‘Shine Ya Eye’ 2021, that is a valid point. I’m 23-year-old now. I literally do not have time for all of those stupid shenanigans. I don’t care about that n*gga Cross. I’m really confused by this revelation that you are telling me now that Mercy said.

“If I was so spiteful, would I talk to him [Cross]? No. Today, he gave me rags. He changed my microphone. I talks to him during tasks. If he makes a funny joke, I laugh. She also noted that being scandal free can affect one’s career negatively but being herself and focusing on growth has been her watchword.

Speaking in an interview with The Nation, she said: “Being scandal free affects one’s career. You know they say there is nothing like bad publicity. So when one remains scandal free, people don’t really hear about one. The public likes bad news, they like to hear that this happened, that happened. And when such things to hear that this happened, that happened. “I don’t really have controversies, so I am just being myself. There is no particular strategy or personal principle that I follow. I am just myself. I just go to work, come back, live my life. I am lucky that I have not been enmeshed in controversies.”

Uzoma also revealed that she has had to sacrifice relocating abroad for Nollywood.

“I have sacrificed moving abroad for acting. If I am not here acting, the only place I know I will be would be out of the country. I know that in the other movie industries, an actor cannot particularly grow there. Some actors even relocate back home and make it big here. I know I can make it big here, that is why I have stayed here.”

Speaking further, she noted that consistency is an important trait needed to succeed in Nollywood.

“Consistency is key. We are rejected ninety percent of the time. Our job is full of rejections. Imagine going for auditions and about fifty are there fighting for the same role. So many that I started out with gave up, they tried so hard and it seemed like they were not making headway and they decided to go do something else that would bring in money. Since I came into the industry in 2014, I have been consistent in spite of the rejections.”
