OAP-cum-comedian, Chinedu Emmanuel popularly aka Nedu has stated there really exist a great disparity in the amount paid to artistes for shows.

He explained a couple of years ago, Wizkid and another artiste, whose name he intentionally withheld, were paid differing amounts for shows.

According to him, while Big Wiz received $200,000 for just one show, the other artiste got only $80,000 for three shows.

He also claimed the ‘Essence’ crooner vehemently refused to show up to perform for a gig because the organisers were offering lesser than his demand.

The broadcaster stated these while they discussed issues, including ‘if the entertainment really pays like that or there’s more to it’ on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast with actor, Kunle Remi as their guest.

“How much were they begging Wizkid with? Was it N32 million or twenty-something million.

“They were begging Wizkid to come and perform with N32 million. Baba no gree. E say if dem no give am 40million, he no they come. We are talking about years ago o!

“I went to Dubai, money that they paid one artiste, I will not mention his name. They paid him $80,000 to perform. They paid Wizkid I think $150,000 or $200,000.

“That $80,000 was for three shows. Wizkid performed $200,000 for one show. Years ago lan so bayi o (we are talking about years ago o,” he said.

Actor Kunle Remi has narrated his encounter with a gay celebrity before he sprung into the limelight.
Popularly known for his ‘role’ as Saro in Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Aníkúlápó’, the movie star claimed he was told by this unidentified celebrity that he needed to be ‘disvirgined (officially deflower him as a homos3xual)’ to make it big in the entertainment industry.

Remi made this known during an interview with Nedu with others on ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast.

He said: “Before I got into the industry, a friend in U.I. Then when I was in U.I, said there is one of his friends who is an entertainer, he can guide you into the entertainment industry.

“I got there, this nigga starts to call out names, starts to talk. That why do I think they didn’t select me for the ‘Ultimate Search’. It’s because I’ve not paid my dues.

“This guy sells the whole fruity shit to me in a big way. That I’m just there like…He paints this whole picture like if I don’t bend my ass over, you ain’t gonna make it bro. You know when person dey talk to you, I dey look as say, ‘My nyarsh?!’

Giving more details about his experience, the actor added: “This guy comes downstairs with a candle and a jar of oil and tells me, I should….because he says I am virgin.

“I should put the candle in the oil as a lubricant and make it go through. That after he’ll now come, take it. And from there, he’ll now connect me and I in my first month, I’ll be driving a Benz.”

Sharing the interview excerpt on his Instagram page, Nedu wrote: “FRUITY (GAYbriel) MEN IN THE INDUSTRY.

“On this episode of @thehonestbunchpodcast. We had the finest man in NOLLYWOOD @kunleremiofficial and we discussed ENTERTAINERS AND ENTERTAINMENT MONEY…

“DOES ENTERTAINMENT REALLY PAY LIKE THAT OR IS THERE MORE TO IT?”

Reacting to the video, Mavin boss, Don Jazzy wished Remi could disclose the name of the gay celebrity now that he’s finally made it to stardom.

“Now wey you don blow boss. You for tell us the person o so that we can make sure he doesn’t molest innocent young upcoming people like that o,” Don Jazzy wrote.

Former OAP Daddy Freeze has explained why he has never given his mother money.

He was reacting to a tweet that blasts mothers-in-law who expect their sons to prioritise them over their wives.

Daddy Freeze said his mother is too busy making money herself to expect anything from him.

He tweeted: ”Shey na my mama wey be Professor of Law, Vice Chancellor of ABUAD wan get time put mouth for my matter? Sometimes one week sef, my mama never pick my call.
“My mother is too busy with her career and doing well financially. I have never, as a matter of fact, given my mother money before. The woman holds her side pieces…”

But one social media user identified as ‘lovelymoodflowerz’ faulted Daddy Freeze over his claim of not having given money ever to his mother simply because she’s doing well financially.

She said: “This is not an excuse for not giving your mother money. You that look hardheaded and troublesome like this must have given her a financially hard time, abeg reciprocate her kindness.

But the 46-year-old biracial addressing his ‘critic’ informed her that his mother has never needed his money and never will; and took her to the cleaners thereafter.

“@lovelymoodflowerz my mother does not need my money. She has never and never will,” he stated.

“You have to understand that poverty did not find permanent residence in every home. Some people are well off and don’t need your money.

“You can’t understand that when money is your god and poverty is your sibling.”

Popular media personality Ifedayo Olarinde aka Daddy Freeze has claimed giving one’s rich parents money is devoid of the attached blessing.

He argued an individual can only be blessed for giving his/her parents money if they are poor or struggling.

The ‘scripture teacher’ wrote: “There is no blessing in giving your rich parents money. The blessing is when you give to the poor.

“If your parents are struggling then you are blessed when you give them money or assist them. ‘Honor your father & mother’ should not be monetised. Stop normalising entitlement behavior.”.
A debate sparked off after comedian Emmanuel Ogonna Iwueke, aka Craze Clown or Papa Ade made an assertion about a mother who has failed in her duties.

The content creator posited a mother has failed in her capacity if the son places her way above and treats her with more importance than his wife.

Corroborating Craze Clown’s assertion, Daddy Freeze said: “@crazeclown is making sense. My mama no go even gree me prioritise her over my wife. Mothers should know their place in their son’s lives and it’s in the back seat! His nuclear family comes FIRST! ~FRZ

House of Representatives member Akin Alabi said: “A mother that has a life will not even want you to prioritize her over your wife.”

DJ Cuppy has made excuses for her fiancé Ryan Taylor after he threw in the towel during a recent boxing match.

The popular disc jockey explained her beau’s eyesight is certainly more important than any boxing match any day.

Ryan sparked outrage after quitting within a minute of his crossover boxing bout against Swarmz.

He had gone head-to-head with Brandon Scott, aka Swarmz, at the OVO Arena in Wembley on Saturday night.

Swarmz’s first clean jab within the first minute of the first round left the 29-year-old Taylor with swelling so bad that the referee adjudged him unfit to continue with the match.

After the fight, Taylor’s eye began to swell up badly with many suspecting that he had broken his orbital bone.

Taking to his Instagram story after the match, the amateur boxer said he immediately lost his sight after the punch, which informed his decision to quit.

“The glove caught my fucking eyeball. I can’t see shit. Mad …,” he wrote while adding a laughing emoji.

Hours later, via his Twitter handle, Taylor added: “Thank you for everyone checking on me really the support is outstanding.

“Regardless of what we do to hype up these fights. When we get in that ring anything can happen!

“I’ve put my body through things 1 million times worse than this so I’m still confused how it happened.”

But while many social media users disagree with the YouTuber star’s claim, deriding his boxing ability, his lover took to her Twitter handle to express relief about his eyesight being in good condition.

Choosing the love of her life’s sight over any boxing match and unremorseful about his decision to quit the contest, the 30-year-old entertainer shared a photo capturing her locking lips with him after he exited the accident and emergency department.

She wrote: “The LOML @RyanTaylorBMX THANK GOD your eye is recovering. You scared me from ringside straight to A&E.”

“Sorry fans, I pick his eyesight OVER any boxing match ANYDAY! #SorryNotSorry.”
