    Don’t bury Ifeanyi yet, take him to solution ground – Prophet

    A prophet, Christian Shola of Solution Family Worldwide, has begged that Ifeanyi, the three-year old son of singer Davido and Chioma should not be buried yet.

    He instructed the parent via his Twitter handle to take the toddler’s body to ‘solution ground’ on or before 21hrs from when he passed his message.

    Shola expressed faith that the three-year-old who’d been confirmed dead would live again.

    He wrote: “I am Prophet Christian Shola, please don’t bury that boy yet, he is a destiny child.

    “Take Ifeanyi Adeleke to Solution Ground on or before 21hrs after this message and see what will happen, God of of solution can never fail (2king5v10). Olórun Christian Shola Agbayé.”

    Ifeanyi drowned at Davido’s Banana Island home on Monday night when his parents travelled for a family function at Ibadan.

    He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

    Legendary musician and first son of Afrobeat pioneer, Femi Kuti has relieved his childhood experience during a recent interview where he opened up on his growing up while in school.

    The saxophonist and Afrobeat star disclosed that he suffered hatred from some of his school teachers who knew he was one of Fela’s children.

    Kuti said that while he expected to be treated fairly, some teachers would pass aggression on to him because of their dislike for Fela.

    “School was a very depressing time for me because you had the teachers that liked him and teachers that didn’t like him so if I get into trouble with the teachers that didn’t like Fela they would beat me more because they don’t like my father,” said Femi Kuti.

    “I later got to know they had a vendetta against my father. They have rich children in the same school and they didn’t like me because I was Fela’s son, they say your father smokes Indian hemp and I also tell them their father is a slave.”

    In the early hours of Tuesday, November 1, 2022, the three presidential aspirants took to their social media accounts to commiserate with the Adelekes and send their condolences to the parents of the three-year-old, who reportedly drowned in a swimming pool and died on Monday, November 31.

    Tinubu, in a condolence message, asked that God grant Davido and Chioma the fortitude and strength to deal with this painful tragedy while describing the death of late Ifeanyi a tragic loss.

    Sympathising with the family,  Atiku wrote, “My thoughts and prayers are with Davido and Chioma and the Adeleke family at this time. I pray for God to strengthen and comfort them.”

    For Obi, Ifeanyi’s death is a sad occurrence that can’t be imagined nor the pains Davido and his fiance are going through. He prayed to God to grant the parents healing and strength in their trying times.

    In commiserating with Davido and his fiance, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Osun State suspended political activities for the week. A statement by Osun Caretaker Chairman of PDP, Dr Adekunle Akindele, expressed sadness over the incident and prayed with the family for God to console them.

    In the same vein, Senate Chief Whip Kalu canceled all his scheduled official engagements in honour of the late Ifeanyi.

    Meanwhile,  celebrities all over the world have been mourning the death of Ifeanyi. Many of the celebs have been writing eulogies while sending condolences to the late Ifeanyi’s parents.

    AMAA 2022: P-Square, KSA thrill African film practitioners as Nigeria leads with eight awards

    The memories of the 18th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards are incomplete without the scintillating performances of leading Nigerian music stars, King Sunny Ade and the P-Square duo.

    The 2022 edition of the AMAAs was held on Sunday, October 30, and had five Nigerian films winning a total of 8 awards. The entire show was aired live on StarTimes channels between 6pm and 1am.

    The Nigerian flag shone like a bright star with films by Nigerians and Nigerian directors winning a total of eight awards. The Nigerian films that won the eight awards are Bolanle Austen Peters’ ‘Man of God’ with two awards, Kunle Afolayan’s ‘Swallow’ with two awards, Tope Oshin’s ‘Here love lies’ with one award, Tunde Aina’s ‘Underbelly’ with one award, Ogo Okpue’s ‘A Song from the Dark’ with one award and Walter Banger’s ‘Jolly Roger.’

    At the awards ceremony that had King Sunny Ade serenading nominees, African film enthusiasts, and practitioners, Tanzania’s ‘Tug of War’ and South Africa’s ‘Surviving Gaza’ came after Nigeria with four awards each while ‘Borga,’ a film shot by a German director in Ghana came next with three awards.

    Other films that won different categories include Somalia and Kenya’s ‘Ayaanle,’ Senegal’s ‘Astel,’ Uganda’s ‘No way out’ and ‘Tembele,’ USA’s ‘Contraband’ and ‘Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story’ and Peru’s ‘The Rumba King.’

    The 2022 edition of the film awards ceremony was held at the Jewel Aeida Hall, Lekki, Lagos, with Funnybone, Chigul, and Kachi Offia taking the host position.

    With several nominees from different parts of Africa and the diaspora in attendance, the 2022 AMAA also had thrilling performances from Choc City’s Young Jon and Candy Bleakz, Zadok, and Yinka Davies.

    Speaking at the event, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, the founder of AMAA and Chief Executive Officer of the African Film Academy chided African filmmakers for shunning ego and embracing more collaborations to enhance the growth of the African film industry. She stressed the need for film practitioners in Africa to unite and chart a pathway for African leaders in supporting the creative sector.

    The event had in attendance Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Pharmacist Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf with her husband, Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Education, Tokunbo Wahab, the Jury led by Keith Shiri, Shaibu Husseini, Steve Ayorinde, and several film practitioners that include Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, Idowu Phillips, Bimbo Manuel, David Akande, Wole Ojo, Daniel K. Daniel, Enyinna Nwigwe, Deyemi Okanlawon, Yemi Blaq, Osas Ighodaro, Denrele Edun, Tony Akposeri, Osita Iheme amongst several others.

    I pour it all out on stage, says Beautiful Nubia

    Singer and instrumentalist Segun Akinlolu aka Beautiful Nubia has revealed the secret of his youthful looks while on stage.

    The 54-year-old band leader of the Roots Renaissance disclosed that whenever he is on stage he pours out all his knowledge, talent, and all he has.

    Beautiful Nubia made this known at a recent event to celebrate 20 years of his third studio album, ‘Jangbalajugbu.’

    During his performance at the event, Beautiful Nubia midway shares his thoughts with the attendees.

    “A lady told me that she has been at my last three shows, and whenever I come on stage, I look 34 but by the time I finish, I look 54. It’s normal. When I’m on stage, I pour my knowledge, talents, and everything out, that’s how it’s supposed to be. You don’t leave anything, you pour everything here. So that when you (fans) leave here, you can feel good, positive, and strong.

    “And when you go out there to the world, everybody will notice there is something different in you because this is a powerful show, a life-changing concert where we share wisdom and knowledge that will keep reverberating in your mind.

    “The words will guide you and you’ll be an angel for change in your environment, teaching people how to honest and truthful, how to be strong in love, how to be humble and patient, how to be hardworking, how to be contentment and all. That is why I love seeing people around to share knowledge among ourselves.”

    Beautiful Nubia is popular for his 2002 classic project which has songs like ‘Baba Mimo’, ‘Seven Lifes’, ‘Owuro L’ojo’, ‘Jangbalajugbu’, ‘How do you do?’, and ‘What a feeling.’

    Gospel Icons Africa reality show targets the youth

    To divert attention away from secular music, a music recording outfit, M&E Music Company has announced the premiere of its gospel music reality show tagged, ‘Gospel Icons Africa.’

     The initiative, the firm said, was borne out of a vision of grooming and nurturing young talents in a God’s way.

     The reality show, organisers say, has gospel artists including Mike Abdul, Efe Nathan, BeeJaysax, and music director Bode Afolabi as judges.

     Speaking about the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of the music outfit, Esther Oladeji said the show was created to solve the rate at which many Christian youths are dumping gospel music for the secular music industry.

     “Many secular singers have their roots from church most popular artists evolve from the church but with this show, we strategically want to contain the youth in the church so that they won’t go astray,” she said.

    Continuing the CEO said, “We are putting structure and resources in place to address the issues of these youth opting for secular music. Let me hint you, the prize for the competition is nothing less than N15million with a brand new car including record label deals.”

    According to Oladeji, the show is open to all the youth in Africa youths as the audition process would be online. Thereafter, selected candidates will be invited to participate in the show and they will undergo rigorous training to become the next gospel music superstars.

    On his part, its Executive Director, Martins Bamidele expressed that the mission of ‘Gospel Icons Africa’ is geared towards changing the narration of the youths about the gospel music industry by making them realize that anything they want in the secular music can also be achieved in the kingdom of Lord.

    Similarly, the Chief Operating Officer of the project, Segun Oluwayomi noted that the programme will be organised annually to achieve its primary goal.

    “This programme is going to be a yearly event. It’s a big project that is bigger than us because we’re going to be giving out franchises. That is why we call it Gospel Icons. Africa to continuing rising stars for the kingdom,” he said.

    “We all know what is going on around the world today that we are losing our youth gradually through the weapon of music. And we as Christians, we want to try as much as possible to bring them back to the Lord through the means of music to bring them back to God himself and that is that’s the essence of creating the Gospel Icons Africa.”

    The judges of the show promised an exciting show for fans and viewers of the gospel singing competition.

     “I want to make a song that I will feel content when I leave the studio like “Damn I just made something immaculate,” and that’s what it was with ‘Rush.’ I felt so relieved, I felt like God had used me to create this sound, so ‘Rush’ had to be in the Deluxe no matter what. It had to be there,” she said.

     Ayra Starr, is a Nigerian singer, who was born in Cotonou, Benin, and began a fashion career at the age of 16 with Quove Model Management before deciding to pursue music.
