Aminu Tambuwa is having a new experience with love when he picked a second wife few days ago. He got married to popular Lagos big girl and IT expert, Hajia Maryam Mairo.

    The Sokoto State governor was all smiles, as he was united to his new heartthrob. The first leg of the wedding Fatiha kicked off on Thursday, February 4, 2016, in Kano, while the wedding Fatiha proper comes up between February 19 and 21, in Kano, Abuja and Sokoto. Tambuwal and his new wife met a few years ago during the period he served as Speaker of the House of Representatives. He proposed to her shortly before he contested for the Sokoto State gubernatorial election.

    However, their plan to marry was deliberately delayed until Tambuwal left office as Speaker. Tambuwal’s new wife, Mairo, is a native of Kano city, Kano State. Her father, the late Malam Mustapha Balarabe, was a political gladiator and a member of the House of Representatives during the Second Republic (1979-1983). Mairo’s mother, who passed on in February 2011, was half-Sierra-Leonian and half Nigerian. She is the third of her parents’ four children. Well-educated, unassuming, kind and accomplished woman, Mairo garnered years of work experience in telecoms, oil and gas, IT, and energy sectors.

    She has an insatiable appetite for acquiring knowledge on every issue of life. Fondly called M-Black or MMB by her close friends, Mustapha attended the Federal Government Girls College, Kazaure, and Bayero University, Kano. She has attended various courses in management and business, at the London Business School, Lagos Business School, Harvard University, Wharton Business School, Pennsylvania, and some other top class universities in South Africa, France, Malaysia and some other countries.

    Chief Nelson was born in Lagos 60 years ago to a Lagos-born mother and an Ijebu father. She had her secondary school education at the Anglican Girls Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode, and her tertiary education at the University Teaching Hospital, Ibadan, where she trained as a nurse and midwife. She attended the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Lagos, where she bagged a diploma in law and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. She is married to Mr. Adeyemi Nelson, a retired director of the Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs, with three children.

    Abimbola’s response to this, was “Go back to Kano and be with your family. You are not part of our’s and aren’t entitled to anything. Didn’t dad tell you he wanted to be buried back home? Why are you legally battling his heirs?” Halima responded to Abimbola’s comment with a laughing smiley and the words, “Touched a raw nerve did I?”

    Since these conversations between the two on twitter, Abimbola has taken every opportunity to attack her father’s last wife. At the moment, all is not well between the two and there is no telling when their differences will be laid to rest.

He advised the couple to be their brother’s keepers and to always settle disputes without involving a third party. According to Fagbaro, there would always be disagreement in marriages, but couples need to know how to solve disputes, while malice should never be an option.

Hajia Shagaya, who is the closest ally to former Nigeria first lady, Patience Goodluck Jonathan, has now concentrated on oil and gas business.
