Nkechi Blessing decries use of influence to sabotage others’ progress

Actress and producer Nkechi Blessing has condemned those who use their connections and influence to frustrate other people’s success, urging them to desist from such acts.

In an Instagram video shared on Wednesday, she reflected on the struggles many face, including depression, illness, and untimely death, questioning why anyone would deliberately try to hinder another person’s progress.

“There you are, putting calls to terminate people’s contracts, badmouthing others, taking food from people’s mouths… all this influence and power you think you have, it only takes one sleep you’ll never wake from, and everything is gone. So to what end?” she lamented.

Blessing stressed the need for kindness and forgiveness, reminding people that no one leaves life alive.

Bracket urges Psquare brothers to reconcile amid feud

Popular music duo Obumneme Ali also known as Smashbracket, and Nwachukwu Ozioko known as Vastbracket, have urged the Okoye brothers, Peter, Paul and Jude to reconcile.

Speaking on the Afrimma Podcast, Smashbracket advised the brothers not to allow anger to affect their relationship.

“The thing is, there’s one saying, they say it in Igbo language. You know, what it means is that the anger of a brother doesn’t get to the bone. Do you understand? So no matter how angry you are, like you want to… It shouldn’t get to the bone”, he said.

He also recalled how close they were to the Okoye family before the rift.

“The thing is, you know why? Because we’ve been to, like, it’s not like they are not telling me. Every day, even before they had the first issue, we are in the house all the time. If you listen to Peter, listen to Paul, listen to Jude, you just, you’ll be so confused, you don’t even know where to come in. So you start, it’s like, okay, how can you guys solve it? Yeah.”

Vastbracket stressed the importance of family unity and urged them not to listen to the public.

“Forget about what people say. You are brothers. You know how you started this, you know, yeah, you are twins, the twins, and then your brother, you know, you lived in the same house for a long time. You know how you started, then why are you going to pay attention to people for Christ’s sake?” Vast added.

The music duo admitted that the fallout had gone too far and would take God’s intervention to bring them back together.

“Both of them, all of them, they’ve crossed the line. They’ve crossed the line. All of them. You’re getting your brother locked up. There’s no more brotherhood. So it’s going to take the divine grace of God and the intervention of God for them to ever get back together. Exactly.”

Vastbracket further appealed to the Okoye brothers to ‘swallow their pride’.

“We’re una fans o. We are not happy the way things are going, honestly,” Vast said.

“And unfortunately, the ones that even pain me the most are the people that don’t even know them from Adam, and they choose sight. Now they will say, Oh, Peter is this, Paul is this. And they don’t even know nothing. They don’t even know this. What you see on social media, that’s what you’re judging.” Smash concluded.

  • Cardi B wins $24 million assault lawsuit, confronts reporter

Cardi B wins $24 million assault lawsuit, confronts reporter

American rapper Cardi B has been cleared of assault charges in a $24 million civil lawsuit filed by security guard Emani Ellis.

The lawsuit stemmed from a 2018 incident outside a doctor’s office in Beverly Hills, where Ellis claimed Cardi B attacked her with fingernails and spat on her.

However, the jury deliberated for less than an hour and found Cardi B not liable for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and false imprisonment.

During the trial, Cardi B denied the allegations, stating that Ellis followed her, filmed her on her phone and refused to give her personal space.

Cardi B was four months pregnant at the time of the incident and was trying to keep her pregnancy private, which led the medical office to close for the day.

After the verdict, Cardi B expressed relief and emphasised that she works hard for her money and won’t settle for frivolous lawsuits.

She also urged her fans to respect Ellis’ privacy.

Following the verdict, Cardi B spoke to reporters, saying, “I work all day and I work hard for my money, for my kids, for the people that I take care of. So don’t you ever think that you’re going to sue me, and I’m just going to settle.”

In a separate incident after the trial, Cardi B confronted a reporter who asked questions about her personal life, including her pregnancy and potential paternity issues with children.

“Cardi, insiders are claiming that Offset is publicly bragging about getting you pregnant for the 4th time. Do you foresee any paternity issues with Stefon Diggs?”, the reporter questioned.

Cardi B sharply responded by throwing a pen at the reporter, demanding respect and challenging the reporter’s line of questioning.

“Stop disrespecting me. Don’t disrespect me,” she said.

She went on to challenge the reporter directly: “Do you see women asking those types of questions to me? Why do you feel, as a man, that you get to ask me those kinds of questions? Act like you have some manners. And your mama taught you to respect women.”

The confrontation drew mixed reactions, with some praising Cardi B for standing up for herself and others criticising her for resorting to a physical gesture after being cleared of assault allegations.
