In an Instagram post, the singer revealed that the concert idea came on a whim, driven by her desire to connect more closely with her fans, the “SimiArmy.”

Joking about sponsorship, Simi said she and her husband, Adekunle Gold, would serve as the event’s sponsors since her team had little time to secure external partners.

Tickets are fixed at N10,000 with no VIP options, as Simi explained the pricing was to regulate access due to the venue’s limited capacity.

Simi urged fans to get their tickets early, warning that space at the venue is limited.

She wrote on Instagram, “I was tired of letting you down. A promise is a debt and I decided to do this a couple weeks ago, because one of my strengths (flaws) is that I’m impulsive (yay?).

“I didn’t give my team any time to find sponsors so my sponsors are me and my husband #marrywell.

“The tickets are N10,000 flat for everyone. No VIP seats. I would do it for free, but we have to manage access somehow.

“It’s not a big space, so get your tickets early. Even if there are 10 people there, we’re starting early. I just want to sing with you – so go and listen to the albums again and refresh. I know I’m going to cause I don’t be remembering my lyrics. Uhm…what am I forgetting…I love you SimiArmy”.

Falz stressed that while he remains cautious, he believes it is better to be honest about one’s intentions and level of readiness for commitment.

“I’ve not found anybody who likes me. In all sincerity, it’s incredibly tough. It’s incredibly tough to sort of have that. When I say that, I mean a healthy love/ family life and being in entertainment. Right. It’s incredibly tough.

“Not knowing how to navigate that, coupled with feeling like I don’t want to just scatter things up, has resulted in me just sort of staying away. You know, some people will say he’s running away from commitment. Yes. Is it? To an extent, I wouldn’t lie, yes. Yes.

“But it’s one thing to know that you are not prepared for commitment. It’s another thing to deceive yourself that you are, and mess things up both for yourself and the other person. So it’s me just being cautious. Too cautious, maybe, possibly. I would admit that could be. But yeah, I would say it’s me just being cautious,” he said.

  • Hilda Baci to cook world’s largest jollof rice pot with 250 bags of rice

Hilda Baci to cook world’s largest jollof rice pot with 250 bags of rice

Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has revealed that she’ll be using 250 bags of rice, weighing approximately 5,278 kilograms, to cook the largest pot of jollof rice on September 12, 2025.

The giant pot designed for the event measures six meters in width and height, with a volume of 22,619 litres, aiming to fill it up to 80% capacity.

To make the jollof rice, Baci, in an Instagram video, said she would need 1,583 kilograms of tomato paste, calculated based on 0.30 kilograms of paste per kilogram of rice.

She added that she’ll also be using pepper chicken paste and jollof paste to create the most delicious Nigerian jollof rice.

The event, scheduled to take place at Muri Okunola Park in Lagos, promises to be a grand celebration of Nigerian cuisine, music, and community spirit, with live performances planned and free attendance.

Baci’s record-breaking attempt has generated buzz on social media, with many fans and followers expressing excitement and admiration for her culinary skills and mathematical prowess.

“My goal is to fill this pot up by at least 75 to 80 per cent. That means I will need about 5,278 kilogrammes of raw basmati rice to achieve the yield.

“I am making the executive decision to do 250 bags. For one kg of rice, you would need between 0.20 to 0.35, but because it’s Nigerian jollof, I’m going to use 0.30.

“That means I will need 1,583 kilogrammes of Gino tomato paste,” she said.

Baci added that the tomato base would be shared evenly across tomato paste, pepper chicken paste and jollof paste to make the “most delicious, largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice you have ever tasted”.
