Mo Bimpe slams online troll over harsh comment on childbirth

Actress Adebimpe Adedimeji popularly known as Mo Bimpe has slammed an Instagram user who made harsh remarks about her childbearing.

She posted this on Instagram, alongside screenshots of the user switching roles in her comment section and direct message.

The user, identified as @wahalastation, had earlier reached out to Mo Bimpe privately, pleading for help and at the same time commented publicly with hateful words about childbearing in one of her posts.

“I no go cry your mata and God go bless everybody. You can help me only if you want to do that. I don’t beg for help, but I need. Sexy Divaaaaa” the user wrote to her dm.

However, the same user went further to make a hateful remark in her comment section in relation to her new movie, ‘My Miracle’.

“Your miracle should be the birth of your child, but the normalcy of you being celebrated without a child has made it more reasonable to you that kids are actually useless, but that’s dummy reasoning from you @mo_bimpe. You’re a b@rren and w@mbless woman! Only God can repair your womb because it’s more than reconstruction.

“Tell the world what actually happens to your womb!!!! The clock is ticking!!!! Tell the truth!!!!!! You don’t have any womb again!!!!! @mo_bimpe you’re wombless!!!!!!!!! @mo_bimpe, you don’t have a womb, na the day you born pikin dis world go end,” the user commented.

Mo Bimpe, in response, described the user as a ‘nuisance’ and ‘fool’ for initially mocking her for begging and hyping her with sweet words as ‘Sexy diva!’ in her direct message.

“See the nuisance stressing my fans… the fool is in my DM switching from being a hater to a fan, even begging for help. A confused maggot.

“I know you need attention, but dropping hate comments will only make you a failure,” she wrote.

She explained why she doesn’t take trolls seriously despite suggestions from fans to either block or respond to them.

“Trolls are sad, frustrated, unloved, poor and insecure; they have low self-esteem and crave attention so badly. I love to keep them so they can continue to choke on my happiness,” she added.

She finally urged her fans not to waste energy on the negative vibes, but instead channel their support to her new movie.

“Over here na joy only,” she added, making it clear no troll can discourage her.

  • Juliana Olayode questions high cost of Aso-ebi in Nigerian weddings

Juliana Olayode questions high cost of Aso-ebi in Nigerian weddings

Actress and content creator Juliana Olayode has expressed concerns over the rising cost of Aso-ebi at Nigerian weddings.

She shared this in an Instagram video on Sunday, questioning why couples can’t provide an affordable purchase price.

“Good evening, folks, happy Saturday to you. To those getting married, why is your Aso-ebi so expensive? I think you people need to start picking colours because we have all the colours, ombre, onion red, pink, and purple.

“How can you be selling your asoebi for 500,000 Naira for just three yards? After spending so much to buy the clothes, you still expect us to spray/give you money at the party. The thing is that even the party clothes you can’t wear after the wedding. Why can’t you sell your asoebi for 25,000 or 20,000? We can make lovely styles with it. What’s wrong with that?” she said.

She also highlighted the challenges guests face at weddings despite the heavy spending.

“People get married every other day, so why can’t we just make it easy for people to attend the wedding, or is the money for the asoebi you want to use for the wedding? When you get to the wedding, there’ll be no seats. Everywhere is packed with content creators. What is it?” she questioned.

She finally told the couples to either pick the expensive asoebi or have the guests spray them at the party.

“Then you expect them to spray you. For what? Because you pick one. Either you pick your asoebi, or you pick the spray. I don’t think asoebi has to be that expensive. Make the price reasonable. We want to come and celebrate with you. Don’t make us tired,” she concluded.

Cee C speaks on struggles of instant fame from BBNaija

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Cee C, has opened up about the challenges that come with the sudden fame gained from the reality show.

In a chat with fellow ex-housemate Boma, she described the rapid nature of the attention as a major disadvantage, noting that contestants often have little time to prepare for life outside the house.

“One of the disadvantages of coming into fame through Big Brother is the fact that it is quick. You know nobody today, and then you go into the show and come out, and they know you. You haven’t built the relationships you need to survive in the industry…” she said.

On her personal life, Cee C revealed that she remains open to dating within the entertainment industry, stressing that what matters most is finding someone who fits her type rather than their profession.

“I don’t mind. I’m not very picky. If you’re my type, you’re my type; if you’re my spec, you’re my spec. It doesn’t matter…” she said.

Biodun Stephen advocates reshaping storytelling in Nollywood

Award-winning filmmaker Biodun Stephen has advocated the need to reshape the art of storytelling in Nollywood narratives.

In a candid interview with BellaNaija, Biodun stressed the need to go beyond old film narratives and empower writers.

“We have a lot of budding writers and we need to begin to shape them or reshape how writers think about stories. We’ve gone past this constant narrative that we’ve seen over and over and over in films. And I think that the world is changing,” she said.

She also highlighted the power that writers wield in controlling the narratives of Nollywood.

“We also, as a culture, as a race, as individuals, must evolve. I think that this is very, very important that we also realise the kind of power that we wield as writers, you know, and how much of a part of it is controlling and reshaping these stories. And so today’s panel was very enlightening for me, and I’m hoping that it begins from this moment, begins to help…” she added.

“Women are reduced. And I think that it’s a tragedy because we have a lot of capacity. We’re not just wives and mothers. You understand? We’re everything else in between. And I think that this conversation is going to help us shape the trajectory of storytelling in the future,”  Brenda said.
