  • Has Israel forfeited her right to exist?

Has Israel forfeited her right to exist?

The genocidal monster and strange little creature that appears in a video which I posted on X boastfully proclaiming that “every single Gazan is an enemy of Israel” & that “every man, woman & child in Gaza should be killed”, proves that the Jewish state is now a nation of demonically-inspired souls that are in the grip & power of satan.

The creature, whose name is Eliyahu Yossian and who is a former member of an elite Intelligence Unit of the Israeli Defence Force, spoke with the same murderous intention and homicidal obession that his Jewish forefathers did 2000 years ago when they insisted on the cold-blooded murder and crucifixion of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and when they proudly and foolishly proclaimed,

“Let His blood be upon us and upon our children”.

For those that have not seen or heard the creatures vile, venomous and incendiary contribution the video can be found on my X handle (@realFFK) or @intifada.

In case his display of madness was not enough to invoke your boiling and inconsolable rage, consider the words of yet another mentally ill malefactor.

This time it was a serving Israeli Army officer, fresh out of Gaza, who was recorded whilst proclaiming the following with a big smile on his face.

    He said,

“we are looking for babies to kill! I have killed a girl who was around 12 but I want to kill a baby”.

For those that doubt that anyone could speak like this and are skeptical about my representation of his sentiments, kindly view them yourself on my X handle (@realFFK) or on @tparsi and @Khaledyoursy22.

If one is looking for good examples of what the English common law describes as “a diseased mind” & what Romans 1:28 of the Holy Bible describes as a “reprobate” one, these two troubled, twisted souls readily provide them.

Sadly this depravity is not limited to them alone and does not stop there.

It is a general, widespread malaise which is shared by most Israelis and particularly by those in the ruling Likud party, the Government, the Parliament (the Knesset), the security and intelligence agencies (Mossad and Shin Bet) and the Israeli Defence Force.

Permit me to share a few examples of their barbarous disposition.

Palestinian men, women and CHILDREN who have been arrested by the Israeli Defence Force in Gaza are routinely stripped naked & paraded through the streets before being spat on, tortured, mocked, defecated & urinated over & finally murdered.

Even in death they are not spared but are subjected to even more humiliation as their bodies are desecrated and mutilated and their vital organs are skillfully and clinically carved out and sent back to Israel for sale on the flourishing international and national black market for human parts!

I will not speak of the mass rape and group sodomy that Palestinian men, women and CHILDREN are subjected to by the Israeli Army.

I will not speak about the fact that the Israeli Army are using shells containing internationally-banned white phosphorus and that they have launched more than a thousand artillery strikes on densely populated areas since the start of their bloody war on the Gaza Strip on 7 October.

I will not speak about the fact that they burn little children from head to toe with their flame throwers, Nepam bombs and white phosphorus shells and the fact that the few that are left alive suffer the most excruciating form of unbearable pain before they eventually die.

I know this because I have seen the videos and they are far too troubling and graphic for me to post or share.

They were sent to me by my friend and brother His Excellency Abdullah Abu Sawesh, the Palestinian Ambassador to Nigeria.

After watching them in absolute shock, horror and disbelief I wept for the children of Gaza and the people of Palestine and I told him that I honestly believe that all the demons had fled hell and had relocated to the State of Israel.

These are just a few of the unspeakable things and abominable atrocities that are being committed against innocent and defenceless Palestinians in the name of waging war against Hamas by the Jews and frankly it beggars belief and is  utterly mind-boggling.

They are targetting and killing women, infants and babies as if they were shooting fish in a barrel.

All this yet the world sits back and does NOTHING whilst what is fast developing into the greatest massacre of non-combatants and civilians by one of the world’s most powerful armies is taking place right under our noses and before our eyes.

What a tragedy this is and what a terrible stain on humanity.

Yet despite the horrors that the Jews are subjecting the Palestinians to they insist on rejoicing about their shameless barbarity and unconciable cruelty with loud roars of triumph and wild, far-fetched notions and claims of victory.

Unknown to them, this so-called “victory” comes at a great cost.

I say this because given the savagery and barbarity that we are witnessing in Gaza, many are of the view that the Jewish state may have proved her historical and modern-day detractors right and FORFEITED her right to exist.

The notion that she should be wiped off the face of the earth is beginning to gain traction and appear attractive to millions of people throughout the world.

The relentless madness and murderous disposition of Prime Minister Bibi “Satanyahu”, the blood-lusting barbarity of the Israeli Defence Force and the insidious and malevolent intention of the Zionist lunatic fringe to unleash the worlds second holocaust on the Arabs of Gaza and the West Bank and effect what Adolf Hitler described as the “Final Solution” by eliminating and exterminating every single Palestinian man, woman and child on the face of the earth have made many reconsider their position and come to the chilling conclusion that Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, Iran and all the other notable individuals and state and non-state actors in world history and from time immemorial who believed that the Jews and the State of Israel should be erased from existence may have had a point.

    Let me be clear.

As a strong believer in the resolutions of the Oslo Accords and the “two-state solution” and a believer in justice, equity and the Jewish state’s right to exist, I do NOT share this view and neither do I believe that Israel could ever be wiped out but if truth be told, as a consequence of events in Gaza and particularly the wilful and premeditated slaughter of women and children, many that think like me are beginning to reconsider their views.

Worse still most people, quite erroneously in my view, no longer care to make a distinction between Zionism and Judaism and, as each day passes, they say more and more that the Jews and the Zionists are one and the same and are BOTH the enemies of not just the Arabs but of  the whole of humanity!

That is where “Satanyahu” and his insidious supremacist philosophy, racist disposition and apartheid mindset has taken his country.

He has made more enemies for the Jews than any other leader in their 6000 year history.

Permit me to shed more light on his dark and sinister mindset and that of those that are members of his inner circle by sharing the following.

A few days ago on X @CensoredMen posted the following insightful and revealing contribution titled “Netanyahu’s Superstars”.

    They wrote,

“Benjamin Netanyahu has a wide range of personalities serving inside his government but two names in particular separate themselves from the rest.

These two people are: Itamar Ben-Gvir (National Security Minister of Israel) and Bezalel Yoel Smotich (Finance Minister of Israel)

Before we continue I want you to know that these two men were PERSONALLY appointed by Netanyahu to their positions.

Now let us go through their highlight reels.

    Itamar Ben-Gvir:

⁃ He believes that the Jewish tradition of spitting on Christians, Priests and Churches is perfectly fine and should NOT be punishable by law.

⁃ He is a firm Israeli Supremacist.

He proved this when he said:

‘The right of me, my wife and my children to move around the West Bank is more important than freedom of movement for the Arabs.’

⁃He has pulled a gun on multiple Palestinian parking attendants in Tel Aviv.

⁃He was notorious for having a portrait of Baruch Goldstein on his wall.

For those who do not know, Baruch was an American-Israeli terrorist who massacred 29 Palestinian worshipers in Hebron in 1994.

⁃ In June, he entered Al-Aqsa Mosque and declared Israel “in charge” to deliberately cause tension.

⁃He has been convicted of all the following:

    ▪Incitement to racism.

    ▪Destroying property.

    ▪Possessing a “terror” organization’s propaganda material.

    ▪Supporting a “terror” organization.

Now that you have the rundown of Israel’s National Security Minister, let’s move onto Israel’s Finance Minister.

    Bezalel Smotrich:

    – In 2016 Smotrich made a statement in which he said Jewish mothers should not share maternity wards with Arab mothers.

    – In February 2023 he was in favour of “wiping out” a Palestinian village and called for the Palestinian town of Huwara to be “erased”.

    – In March 2023 he said “there is no such thing as Palestine and there are no such people as Palestinians.”

    – In March 2023, Smotrich visited France and spoke at a podium featuring a map of “Greater Israel”.

    “Greater Israel” includes:

    ▪The entirety of Palestine

    ▪The entirety of Jordan

    ▪Parts of Iraq

    ▪Parts of Lebanon

    ▪Parts of Syria

    ▪Parts of Egypt

    ▪Parts of Turkey

    ▪Parts of Saudi Arabia

I refer to these two as “Netanyahu’s Superstars”.

    Why?

Because no matter what they say or do Netanyahu will always defend them and refuses to remove them from their positions inside the Israeli Government.

I hope this tweet gave you a better understanding of the mentality of Israel’s leadership”.

This is a useful contribution from @CensoredMen and I commend them for their courage.

It is not only disturbing but also revealing and one wonders whether there is any other Government in the world that harbours such deranged,  psychopathic, vicious and Nazi-like thugs at the highest level within its ranks .

Could this have been the mindset that Adolf Hitler, another monster of history and author of the infamous and rabidly racist treatise titled ‘Mein Kampf’ (My Struggle), envisioned many years ago and attempted to warn the world against?

To be sure I deplore Hitler and all that he stood for and I have nothing but contempt for his Nazis and their despicable Aryan dream and vision.

Needless to say I wholeheartedly and categorically condemn EVERYTHING that they said and did to the Jews, the Slavs, the Gypsies, the homosexuals, the disabled, the deformed and indeed the rest of humanity but my question is pertinent and needs to be answered.

That question is whether it is possible that Hitler prophetically foresaw and envisioned a mirror of his evil self in the Satanyahu’s of this world and decided to rid us of the insidious Zionist plot and barbarous plague that lay many years ahead?

Much like the murderous, homicidal, conniving, treacherous, cruel, insidious and dark soul depicted in the Holy Bible by the name of Haman, Hitler wanted to kill all the Jews, wipe out their faith and take their land, worldly possessions and money whilst todays Jewish Zionists want to kill all the Arabs, wipe out their faith and take away all that they have.

Is it not an irony of fate that yesterday’s victims of terror, racism and genocide are today the greatest oppressors, terrorists and perpetrators of ethnic and religious cleansing?

Are the Zionists, led by Bibi and the lunatics in his cabinet, any different from Hitler, Goebbels, Himmler, Goring, Hess and all the other German Nazis?

The latter caused the death of no less than 50 million people in WW11 and the former may well cause the death of billions in what may end up being Ww111.

Are the two not one and the same?

We can debate this from morning till night but the little Palestinian girl who has lost her entire family, including her parents, grandparents and siblings and that was beaten to a pulp, raped, sodomised, mutilated and burnt alive by the heartless butchers of the Israeli Defence Force will certainly tell you that there is no difference at all.

She will confirm to anyone that cares to listen that both the German Nazis and the Jewish Zionists are two sides of the same coin and that the only difference is that the latter literally own and control the United States of America and indeed the Western world.

Is it any wonder that South Africa has asked the International Court of Justice to probe the State of Israel for genocide in Gaza?

Just last week in an open letter that yours truly wrote to Satanyahu titled, “An Open Letter To Bibi” I submitted that he was mentally ill and that he needed psychiatric evaluation and treatment.

My assessment was borne out of an honestly held opinion and strong conviction and not malice and my observation and counsel was later confirmed by no less a person than the famous Hollywood blockbuster film producer Roger Stone who said, in a widely publicised television interview a few days ago, that he had met Satanyahu and that based on what he had told him and the way he behaved at that meeting he had no doubt that the man was  “raving mad”.

Stone’s assertion and assessment of the Israeli Prime Minister’s failing mental health coupled with the revelations by @Censoredmen exposing the reckless sociopaths and psychopaths that he insists on keeping in his cabinet has confirmed my views about Satanyahu.

He is totally and completely unhinged and the fact that his nation has a nuclear bomb which he has the power to set off at any time is indeed a sobering and frightful thought.

Something needs to be done before it is too late and the sooner the people of Israel insist on a ceasefire in Gaza, bring an end to the war, remove Satanyahu from power and either jail him or hand him over to the International Criminal Court where he will undoubtedly be successfully prosecuted and handed a life sentence for genocide, ethnic cleansing, mass murder, war crimes, crimes against humanity and infanticide, the better.

Yesterday the world rose up and came to the aid of the Jews when Hitler sought to eliminate them.

Today the world WILL rise up and come to the aid of the Palestinians.

It is just a matter of time.

O Israel, once loved and cherished by virtually all, you have now become a stench to everyone’s nose.

    What a tragedy!

  • Dafinone congratulates Ajagba for defeating Australia’s Joe Goodall In Nevada

Dafinone congratulates Ajagba for defeating Australia’s Joe Goodall In Nevada

Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta North) has felicitated Nigerian boxing heavyweight, Efe Ajagba, for defending his World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight title after defeating Australia’s Joe Goodall on Sunday.

Dafinone also congratulated Nigerian musician and former winner of BBNaija, Michael Efe Ejeba, famously called Efe, for his remarkable performance to welcome Ajagba into the fighting arena.

Ajagba defeated Goodall in the fourth round through a knocks-out after the Aussie failed to recover from uppercut punches from the Nigerian hard-hitting puncher.

The fight was held at the Reno Tahoe Event Center in Nevada, United States, on Sunday morning (Nigerian time).

Ajagba hails from Ughelli Kingdom while Efe hails from Okpe Kingdom both in Delta State.

In a statement on Sunday, Dafinone said he received the victory of Ajagba and the successful defence of his WBC heavyweight title with joy and fulfilment.

Dafinone said he was particularly elated watching two Urhobos collaborating to make Urhobo and Nigeria proud on the global stage.

He noted that Nigeria is richly endowed with talents in sports, music, education and entertainment, but only waiting to be properly harnessed for the country’s benefit.

The Delta Central lawmaker, however, called on Delta and Federal Governments to harness the abundant talents inherent among the youths for the betterment and development of the state and country.

Senator Dafinone added that he enjoyed Efe’s performance which had a fusion of Urhobo and English. He enjoined Nigerian musicians of Urhobo extraction to use their craft to protect and sustain the Urhobo language just as their counterparts from Yoruba and other tribes are currently doing.

“I congratulate Efe Ajagba on his victory against Australia’s Joe Goodall early this morning. I watched the duo of Ajagba and Efe doing Urhobo and Nigeria proud on the global stage. It was fascinating watching a fellow Urhobo singing for another to defend his title.

“Urhobo from time immemorial has been the centrepiece for producing legendary sportsmen and women, accountants, musicians, comedians, and entertainers. Urhobo’s contribution to Nigeria’s good name on the global stage was reechoed today through Ajagba’s victory.

“I congratulate Efe Ajagba for defending his title. Knocking out his Aussie opponent in the 4th round, clearly shows, he is ready to be a World champion in the boxing arena and I can’t wait to watch this happen.

“Also, I commend Efe for his performance while opening the fight for Ajagba. Such collaboration and brotherliness is what the Urhobo youth need to emulate and win together.

“All Urhobos including our musicians have a task of protecting the Urhobo language through their songs and communication from going into extinction,” the statement added.

  • What I’d do if elected Edo Governor – Ohiowele

What I’d do if elected Edo Governor – Ohiowele

Dr. Ehizojie Imafidon Ohiowele, one of the leading governorship aspirants on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) shared his journey so far and why he seeks the party’s ticket to serve Edo people:

What inspired your pursuit of advanced education in renowned universities, and could you share the institutions you attended?

My personal aspiration has always been to contribute to nation-building. Therefore, I felt that I had to get a global perspective from top universities in the world to equip myself with the knowledge, skills, and networks needed to be an effective leader and advocate for my constituents. After I bagged my first degree at the University of Benin, I attended foreign renowned universities in my quest for more knowledge such as Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. (Alumnus); Said Business School, University of Oxford, UK (Alumnus); International Institute for Management Development (IMD) Lausanne, Switzerland (Alumnus); INSEAD University, France. Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA; Cardiff University, Wales, UK (Alumnus); University of Azteca, Mexico (Alumnus); International School of Management, Paris, France. (Alumnus)

Do you hold a PhD and if so, is it an honorary degree or one earned through study?

I hold a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Azteca, Mexico and I was also bestowed with an Honorary Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) specializing in Banking & Finance from the London Graduate School in England, UK.

We’ve heard Peter Obi was your classmate at Harvard. Does this imply his support or have you received an endorsement from him? We observed your conspicuous presence among the dignitaries who welcomed Peter Obi during his recent visit to Benin at the airport.

I was privileged to meet and spend some time with H.E. Mr. Peter Obi at the University of Oxford. As you very well know, he is a core proponent of the rule of law and the will of the people. He will never endorse a candidate prior to the primaries. However, he will work closely with anyone who emerges as the party’s flagbearer. I was present at the airport to welcome him to our great state as a governorship aspirant.

You’ve excelled in banking and recently co-founded a fintech company. Considering your success, what drives your decision to seek the role of governor in Edo State?

Indeed, you are correct. Further to my personal mission to drive change in our nation, I recently co-founded a fintech company duly licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria that makes financial services more accessible, affordable and fulfilling for the unbanked, under banked & banked in the communities we serve by giving them a better alternative to traditional finance as we leverage technology and data.

My decision to aspire to the role of governor is twofold. Firstly, it is in response to various calls by my constituents to serve the state and I decided to accede based on my high sense of duty. Secondly, my decision is also motivated by a passion to drive change and a genuine desire to serve the Edo people. I have the leadership qualities, skills, and vision needed to lead our dear state and make a positive impact in the lives of the Edo people. I have a track record of successful leadership in other roles and will apply my expertise to the governance of the state. I will leverage my background in business to promote economic growth and job creation in the state amongst other development initiatives.

Why are you seeking the governorship of Edo State?

My passion for service and desire to bring about substantive improvements within the state drive me to seek this position. Edo State has unique opportunities and challenges that require strong and focused leadership. With no prior baggage of political office, I bring a fresh, untainted perspective to governance. I am not encumbered by traditional constraints and can introduce innovative solutions that will make real and lasting difference. It is important to reiterate that the governor’s office holds the capacity to effect significant change which is my goal.

Outside of politics, I have held leadership roles that equipped me with the requisite tactical and strategic capabilities necessary for high-office governance. These real-life experiences, coupled with my awareness of the state’s issues, position me favorably for the Governorship. Engaging with the citizens of Edo has revealed a common desire for fresh faces in our leadership, with new ideas unblemished by the usual political maneuverings.

This contest is not about personal ambition. I am responding to the overwhelming public call for change. It stems from a belief that the citizens of Edo deserve better, and I am prepared to offer them better, right from the top.

What are you going to do differently as Governor?

I will provide leadership that is inspiring, progressive, and inclusive. A leadership that creates opportunities for all, regardless of tribe, religion, or political affiliation. A leadership that prioritizes education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the economy, ensuring the continued growth and development of our beloved state. I will do this by engaging in community outreach to understand the concerns and aspirations of the people; developing a comprehensive plan to address key issues such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and job creation; promoting transparency and accountability in governance to foster public trust; encouraging public-private partnerships to attract investment and spur economic growth; prioritising youth empowerment and skills development through education and vocational training; promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation.
Establishing effective communication channels to keep citizens informed and engaged.

What are your expectations from the Edo people?

I expect the Edo people to be supportive and cooperative, demand accountability and transparency, be involved in governance and continue to keep the flame of hope for a better Edo state burning.

What is your take on the State Government embarking on repairs of federal roads within Edo jurisdiction?

It is a welcome and necessary development. No responsible State Government watches how the deplorable condition of our roads affects their people without intervening. I would like to see the state government undertake some of the repairs and reconstruction works, after which they can seek for a refund from the federal government. In addition, they should begin conversations with the private sector and the federal government with a view to forming a Public Private Partnership that will put paid to this constant debacle.

Edo State has one of the highest diasporans remitting hundreds of millions of dollars if not billions of dollars on a yearly basis- how are you going to harness this advantage to the economy of Edo state?

As of the last estimate, Edo State receives close to $6 billion annually from diasporans which truly positions our state as a major contributor to Diaspora remittance pot in Nigeria. The key to harnessing the advantage we have as a state in this area is centered around building trust, ensuring transparency, and maintaining consistent communication with our citizens all over the world.

As the Governor of Edo State, I will engage with the diaspora in several productive ways to boost remittance. My administration will organize diaspora events like conferences, workshops, or cultural celebrations to engage with Edo citizens abroad. During these events, we will highlight the potential opportunities and benefits of investing in Edo state. We will promote local businesses and projects that diaspora members can invest in. This will include sectors such as real estate, agriculture, technology, and manufacturing.

We will also improve basic amenities and infrastructure that will entice more remittances that show the diaspora that their funds are making a meaningful difference. We will offer incentives like tax breaks and ensure the process is efficient and transparent. Lastly, we will establish an office devoted to diaspora affairs. They will help in directing the scattered resources of Edo natives abroad toward the development of our homeland.

What are your plans for security for Edo State?

Since I understand the importance of security to the economy and well being of the Edo people, I will implement a wide range of initiatives to improve security as the Governor. These measures represent a holistic approach to improving security, recognizing that law enforcement, community cooperation, and societal improvement are all essential components in securing our state. My plan include: Community Policing: I will expand community policing efforts to build stronger relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve; Technology Utilisation: My administration will use modern technology for surveillance and crime-solving, like drones and CCTV in strategic locations; Training: We will provide more intensive and effective training for law enforcement officers, emphasizing conflict resolution, de-escalation techniques, and human rights. Youth Empowerment: We will continue to invest in youth programs aimed at preventing crime and providing alternatives to illegal activities.

This will include education, job skill training, and employment opportunities. Improved Crime Reporting: We will enhance the crime reporting system to make it more accessible, user-friendly, and efficient. Multi-stakeholder Partnership: My administration will foster a more effective partnership involving the government, private sector, NGOs, and communities to create a comprehensive approach to security. This will nurture a collective responsibility in ensuring a safer Edo State; Legislation: Enforce strict laws against corruption within the security forces and for any form of misconduct, thereby improving trust in the system; Judicial strengthening: We will work to ensure swift and fair prosecution of criminal cases by cooperating with judicial authorities to strengthen the effectiveness of the judiciary.

Akwa Ibom exco ends retreat, reaffirms commitment to service delivery

The Akwa Ibom State Executive Council has concluded a four-day retreat at the Eko Hotel, Lagos, reaffirming its commitment to enhancing public service delivery across the state.

Led by Governor Umo Eno, the retreat, which featured the immediate past Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel; the CEO of Financial Derivatives, Mr. Bismarck Rewane and other distinguished resource persons, had as its theme: ‘ARISE agenda: Mapping the future,’ the retreat fostered strategic discussions on economic growth, infrastructure funding, and effective governance.

The resource persons facilitated knowledge-sharing sessions where the economic outlook of the nation and state were analyzed and targets set for the state government generally, and specific MDAs, with a view to bolstering the economy of Akwa Ibom State.

Emphasizing strict adherence to project timelines and quality standards, he underscored the pivotal roles of the EXCO members and other appointees in the state’s transformation, mentioning that they would be assessed by those indices.

  • Amended traditional rulers council law: The dignity of the traditional institution and needless rancour

Amended traditional rulers council law: The dignity of the traditional institution and needless rancour

    • By Revd. Richard Peters.

There appears to be a deliberate misrepresentation of the amended Traditional Rulers Council, TRC law by the 8th Assembly.
The dangerous development, if not condemned is susceptible to degenerating into distrust and stoking ethnic fire among the peaceful brothers and sisters in Akwa Ibom State.
To avert such unnecessary conflict, it is pertinent that the facts be laid bare before the public. We feel obligated to join in such responsibility of enlightening the people based on the facts emanating from the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
A bill seeking to amend the Traditional Rulers law CAP 155 Laws of Akwa Ibom State, 2022 (as amended) was presented, deliberated and subsequently referred to the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for scrutiny and revert to the House.
Our findings also reveal that every aspect of the bill was considered and a public hearing was held were all relevant stakeholders from across the 31 local government areas including representatives of the paramount rulers, Oku Ibom Ibibio, Atha Oro, Itai Afe Annang, sociopolitical groups, trade unions, civil society groups among others.
Contributions and inputs from all the stakeholders were solicited and obtained through memoranda to the committee which added to the final position of the proposed amendment.
The amendment was primarily targeted at making traditional rulers in Akwa Ibom State to attain such credibility and integrity of other dignified traditional rulers in other parts of the country. In the end, after the different stakeholders made their position known, everyone accepted to the eventual amendment.
We, the ARISE Ambassadors are wholly in support of the amended TRC law because we know that is a good way to take the traditional rulers in Akwa Ibom State to play in the “big league” of traditional institution in Nigeria.

We are aware that the role of the traditional institution in Nigeria is crucial to the development and progress of the diverse ethnic nationalities in the country, as well as their strong influence in some political issues in the land even in their advisory capacity.
The traditional institution is highly revered, confers prominence on the various ethnic groups and goes a long way in influencing government policies in their areas of jurisdiction. Indeed, the traditional institution grades ethnic groups.
This accounts for why the words of the Ooni of Ife, Oba of Lagos, Oba of Benin, Olu of Warri and others are laws. The ethnic groups that own these first class traditional rulers are able to achieve this status for their kings because of the modus operandis of the tribes including ascension to the throne and duration of their reigns. A common denominator among them is that the kings reign for life, part of which the amended TRC law has taken care of.
That is why we strongly pitch our tent on the collective decision by the 31 paramount rulers in Akwa Ibom State, apart from those who sick, and other stakeholders that in order for Akwa Ibom State to play a role in the national traditional rulers council, there was a need to elevate the traditional rulers council in the State to be known as Supreme Traditional Rulers Council headed by the President-General. This is highly commendable. It shows a traditional institution that is concerned about projecting the image of Akwa Ibom State in the comity of traditional rulers in Nigeria with attendant benefits.
By sharing the offices of the President-General, Vice President-General I and Vice President-General II among the Oku Ibom Ibibio, Nkuku Annang and the Ahta Oro shows that our traditional fathers are sensitive to the components of the State, and want to continue to live in love and unity.
Good enough, the well-thought out proposal by the traditional fathers has been backed by the law through the bill that was sent to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly of which a public hearing on the bill was held, culminating to the signing of the bill into law by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno.
Thus, it becomes curious to witness sponsored protests in a section of the media and even physically. This is embarrassing show of shame and pettiness by the faceless sponsors of the unsuccessful protest.
ARISE Ambassadors wish to remind everyone that Akwa Ibom State belongs to all the tribes of the State. There is no need to snuggle ethnic undertone to an ordinary good-intentioned action of the legislature. The perpetrators should know that the bond of brotherhood in the State is so strong to be broken by the selfish plots of people who were thoroughly rejected by Akwa Ibom people at the polls, whipping misplaced ethnic sentiments and non-existent division among brothers with the unrealistic aim of embarrassing the State Government. Good enough, Akwa Ibom people know that leopards do not change their spots.
Their actions also give them out as clannish Mayors. At a time that everyone is speaking Akwa Ibom, the tribalists are expecting members of the State House of Assembly to put tribal interests above the interest and good of the State, not knowing that whenever people take oath of office, their allegiance is the State and not to any other sub-unit. This also shows how low they are, and how banal they can go.
We are highly impressed by the exemplary disposition and mentality of the President-General of the Supreme Traditional Rulers Council and Oku Ibom Ibibio, Ntenyin Solomon Etuk for his contra-myopic leadership style and patriotic actions in all his stations of life. We are confident that the new office will not be an exception.
The first class monarch sees himself first and foremost as an Akwa Ibomite and not an Ibibio, Oro or Annang. That is what patriotic leadership entails and Ntenyin is not found wanting.
We condemn in totality, the sponsored protests by those who are out of circulation like unrecommended school books, and advise them not to take the peace and unity enjoyed in Akwa Ibom State for granted.
ARISE Ambassadors are pro-Akwa Ibom, and want the people magnify the State and not the ethnic divides.
We urge all to see the idea of having a President-General for the Supreme Traditional Rulers Council as a bold attempt to compete favourably with other ethnic groups in Nigeria in the traditional institution.
Akwa Ibom State has excelled in different fields under different administration. We thank Governor Umo Eno for bringing reputation to our traditional rulers through this new law, and urge all not to jeopardize the good intentions of the Governor just for their selfish and clannish interests.
This is not a time to distract Governor Umo Eno through whatever masked guise. Akwa Ibom State belongs to everyone but not everyone can be governor at the same time.
Let us not derail from that path of love, unity and oneness chatted for us by the founding fathers. We are one!
Let us support the new Traditional Rulers law of Akwa Ibom State and stop the blackmail and campaign of calumny. Not even during this season of our 36th State creation anniversary!
    Let love lead!.

NIPR presidency: Between Nkechi Ali-Balogun and Ike Neliaku

    By Yushau A. Shuaib

The 2023 Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has cleared 29 candidates vying for the seats of 18 Governing Council members of the institution. The election will be held at NIPR’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference, with the theme, “Leadership, Public Relations and Value Creation,” in Abuja, today August 24, 2023.

The Chairman and Secretary of the electoral committee, Chief Casca Ogosu and Mr. Uzoma Onyegbadue told the Spokesperson’s Digest, a sister publication of PRNigeria that among the 29-list candidates, 18 of them have achieved the esteemed status of being Fellows of the Institute, with an additional nine candidates entering the fray as Members, while one person is an Associate Member.

According to the NIPR Act, after voting, the elected Governing Council members will form an Electoral College to further elect the President and Vice President of the association, who would double as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Governing Council of NIPR for a tenure of two years each.

The major contenders for the presidency of the institute are two Fellows, Mrs. Nkechi Ali-Balogun, of the Lagos Chapter, and Dr. Ike Neliaku of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter.

While I am reluctant to get involved in the typical politicking around the candidates, I must say that the two major gladiators are exceptional PR professionals whose professionalism, competence, capability, and performance on the job I can vouch for.

I have known Dr. Ike Neliaku since 1994 when I was deployed to the Federal Ministry of Information as a staff, after winning the 1993 Presidential National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) award, which came with automatic employment in the Federal Civil Service.

Neliaku, who had previously won the same award in 1991, was then the Personal Assistant to the Minister of Information, who not only guided me through the rudiments of work in the civil service but equally gave me unforgettable moral and kind support to ease into the new work environment.

I recall vividly how he had strongly urged me to sustain my regular article writings, which were being recognised for awards and honours at that time. In fact, he was delighted with some of the books I wrote subsequently whose endorsements he facilitated with the Minister, while also helping secure written forewords by Ministers.

Neliaku has also been a guest at our events, including the Annual Spokespersons Communication Awards (SCA) and book presentations. The more recent instance was during the book I unveiled in honour of the most charismatic minister in the immediate past administration, Professor Ali Isa Pantami.

On the other hand, while I know Mrs Nkechi Ali Balogun as the quintessential Woman in PR, going by her activities and accomplishments as Chairperson of the Lagos chapter of NIPR in the past, our paths have equally crossed on several occasions at national and international PR events. She always has kind words of appreciation for encouraging efforts, presentations and performances at such occasions.

I can attest to the fact that both Neliaku and Ali-Balogun are highly creative, result-oriented, widely networked and well-grounded, yet they are distinct personalities with peculiar strengths and senses of purpose.

A Fellow of NIPR, and a Senior Member of the African Public Relations Association (APPRA), Mrs Nkechi Ali-Balogun is the Principal Consultant/CEO of NECCI Limited, a PR firm based in Lagos. She had previously worked as Head of Corporate Affairs at prominent banks, NEXIM and Equitorial Trust Bank.

She holds a first degree in English/Education and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos. She also obtained an MBA in Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Neliaku attended the University of Jos, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts in 1989, and thereafter a Master’s degree in Political Economy, and a PhD in Development Studies, both from the University of Abuja. Having served as Special Assistant to the Ministers of Information, of Cooperation and Africa Integration, he was later appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the President between 2010 and 2015. He is currently the Executive Vice Chairman of Rightangle PR and Executive Secretary/Member of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Prize for Leadership.

While NIPR members, mostly from the Lagos axis, testify to the fact that Nkechi’s track record is steeped in competence, unwavering ethical values, and proven leadership ability, the PR professionals in the Abuja axis have described Neliaku as emotionally intelligent, relationship-driven, skilful in managing different interests and tested in managing power and public assets.

The two candidates have both unveiled their different agendas ahead of the election. While Nkechi unveiled a 7-point Agenda, Neliaku’s promises for taking the NIPR to great heights are anchored on a 9-point Agenda.

In a statement titled, “Let’s Make History Together”, Nkechi outlines her vision for the institute, as she listed her agenda to include: “’ Caderisation’ by strengthening professional cadres to ensure excellence at all levels; organisational renewal, by breathing new life into our institute; a befitting secretariat by providing NIPR with the infrastructure it deserves and increased revenue generation by sustaining and expanding initiatives.”

Other pledges she is making to members comprise: “Digitization by embracing technology for efficiency and reach; Improving Chapter Capacity and Collaboration and Global Recognition and Affiliations”.

Similarly, in his agenda, Neliaku promises to work towards the establishment of the first African Public Relations University in Nigeria, having conducted project feasibility and viability studies for the NIPR-owned PR university with the support of the Education Advisory Board, as a finishing school for PR practitioners.

He listed his agenda as follows: “Reposition the National Secretariat for effective administration; enhance membership value and professional development, Ensure digitalisation of the institute’s operations and elevate the institute’s national recognition; empower state chapters for greater viability and sustainability.”

More so Neliaku seeks to: “ensure regulatory compliances and strengthen the rank and status of NIPR Fellows; special projects for sustainable revenue generation; initiate the development of Nigerian Reputation House in Abuja and facilitate the establishment of Africa’s First Public Relations University in Nigeria.”

Both candidates have been assuring their colleagues that they have the reputation to deliver on their campaign promises of making NIPR a beacon of professionalism and excellence.

While I wish my sister, Nkechi Ali-Balogun, and my brother, Ike Neliaku, the very best in today’s AGM and election, I urge them to see the election as a contest among siblings and not war, as this will sustain and improve the relationship not only among them but also among all the members of the perception and reputation management profession.

  • Stella The Stellar: The Rise of the Delta Star

Stella The Stellar: The Rise of the Delta Star

    By Peter Adeshina

Thirty nine years ago, in a little town in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government, a star was born. She was destined to shine the brightest although her lumination, certain as it was, had to undergo the burnishing evolution of experience. And so Stella Okotete set out on the long journey to impactful stardom.

To review that journey now seems overwhelming for the reasons of Stella’s incredible credentials and fascinating achievements. For how does one proceed gently into the mindblowing life of consistent accomplishments, year on year, sector after sector?

Everyone who wants to talk or think about Stella often begin with her landmark stint as the Executive Director, Business Development, at the Nigeria Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank. But that is not the right approach. We cannot understand the glory of the Iroko by first looking at the beautiful green branches towering into the sky. We must start from the root, through the stem, and then to the heights of greatness.

As far back as 2008, Stella Okotete became a member of the Ughelli North Legislative Arm from where, up until 2011, she served as Chairman, House Committee on Education. In this role Stella ‘directed all functions and activities associated with the state government’s Free Education Programme in Agbarho, Ughelli, Orogun, Ogor, Agbarha, Evwreni, Uwheru all in the council area.’ And it should not be lost on us that this was quite early in her life. The leadership qualities and the eagerness to take responsibilities and deliver within stated timeline began long ago, aged 24.

Understanding the important need for education, Stella has invested a lot of her time and resources in education. Joined with her experience as a woman which affords her the detailed knowledge of the peculiar vagaries the girl child witnesses through life, Stella endeavoured to leverage her role at the legislative arm thereby organizing and managing programmes for youth and girl child education in the local government. She sponsored the by-law on ‘War against Loitering and Hawking during School Hours,’ and as well led the advocacy team on Adult Education, thereby emphasizing her understanding that an unenlightened household poses a danger unto itself and the society which informs her passionate investment in holistic education.

But Stella Okotete is a woman of diverse capabilities. Propelled by the evidence of her glowing work, her competence was soon employed in the health sector of Delta state whereby she served as Chairman, House Committee on Health. Not the one to enter obligation without legacy impact, co-sponsored the by-law to abolish and declare illegal female circumcision in Ughelli North. At this point, her precedent as a trustworthy voice and advocate for women was beginning to come clear.

Because never, ever does a golden star on a vehement rise escape notice, Stella Okotete inevitably got recognized, through her works, by the then governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan. He appointed Stella as the Special Assistant /Adviser, Directorate of Millennium Development Goals, a position she held from November 2011 to May 2015. It is in this role that Stella demonstrated, to the glaring notice of everyone, her ability to deliver measurable progress, a quality that would come handy when she arrived at the leadership role in NEXIM—and that would now equally play great impact as she becomes a minister of the federal government.

Stella worked with various agencies and groups to achieve the MDGs through various programmes and activities. Some of those were public awareness/advocacy programmes on MDGs in Delta State which leveraged stakeholders’ influence and networks to advocate for policies related to MDG/NAPEP and improved services for IDPs. Also was the supervision of the Implementation of State and Local Government CCT programmes and the “Back to School” project aimed at scoring the MDGs. In the same capacity, Stella She developed community investment, sponsorship and operation guidelines on SDGs and managed social performance and annual reports on achievements, problems and targets.

Away from her official obligations, Stella Okotete has proven that beyond duty, she is a woman of golden empathy. This informed her works in humanitarian services. She has dedicated her time, in line of this, also working with internally displaced people at IDP Camps in Ughelli, Maiduguri, and Abuja.

Stella has been able to achieve what may seem to many as a lot through her understanding of technology and leveraging digital tools to maximize her impact in governance and the empowerment of her constituencies (women, youth, and the general public).

Some of the exhibition of her digital brilliance is her exemplary development of the Presidential Inauguration Website and Mobile Apps, which redefined communication during significant national events, ensuring that information reached citizens quickly and efficiently. This predisposition to utilize technology for the maximization of responsibilities equally materialized at the crescendo of her career at the NEXIM bank.

In what is deemed as one of her groundbreaking projects, Stella presided over the development of the Nigerian Export Academy (NEXA) Mobile App. More than ‘showcasing Stella’s dedication to fostering economic growth and empowerment, as Africa’s first platform aimed at training 5 million exporters within 5 years, NEXA represents a significant step towards building a robust export sector’. This visionary step had alone ensured that knowledge and resources are accessible to millions of aspiring exporters, therefore promoting economic diversification and driving progress in the country.

Stella Okotete, now at the very top of her career, has her elite accomplishments, particularly at NEXIM, well published. As reported incessantly by multiple sources, Stella Okotete’s terms at the enterprise bank has led to significant changes and favorably increased its reputation. It was under Stella’s leadership that ‘the operating profit, previously in the negative (N8.030billion) at the inception of [Stella’s] management, has increased to N3.825 billion in 2021, and there is an improvement in returns on capital earnings from -15.31 in 2016 to 2.72 in 2021’.

Furthermore, ‘during her first term as executive director, the bank recorded huge reduction in non-performing loans from 94% in 2017 to 29% as at December 2021, and there is an increase in the total assets of the bank by approximately N136.132 billion or about 222% from inception of the current management in 2017 to 31st, 2021. The bank also attracted additional funding totaling N103.755 billion.

‘The NEXIM has also made high growth in recoveries from N40.780 million in 2016, preceding the current management to an annual average recovery of N1.243billion between 2017 and 2020 and a total collection of N11.903 billion for the five-year period. The bank has made the disbursement of a total sum of N144 billion in loans to export-oriented entities in the non-oil sector while accounting for approximately US$375 million as export proceeds within the period under review.’

If we continue on this excavation of Stella Okotete’s unremitting achievements across board, we would need a whole printing press to publish her works. But by and large, the conclusive verdict, as heralded by the intelligent brains that researched and nominated her for a ministerial position, is that time has come for this Delta Star to shine more nationally, and the lights of her progressive works reaching the cardinal zones of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
