In order to discourage the continued practice of open defecation in communities of Plateau State, Senator representing Plateau South, Professor Nora Ladi Dadu’ut has provided sanitary facilities like boreholes and toilets in some schools in her constituency.

“From there, I went to commission a motorised hand borehole because water is life and the provision of water will impact many lives positively. We also commissioned toilets facilities to keep our environment clean within the schools and within the communities.

According to her, “Over 5,000 youths and women were empowered in my senatorial district on various productive skills, while 1000 people had also benefitted from such gesture during the COVID-19 hardship period, where N60,000 was given to each to cushion the effect.

She also explained that over 20 youths in Plateau South Senatorial District have been trained and empowered in Information and Computer Technology (ICT) to make them self-sufficient and expose their abilities to the outside world.

Zamfara APC crisis: Court dismisses Yari faction’s suit against Buni

A Federal High Court in Gusau on Friday dismissed the suit challenging the dissolution of the State Working Committee (SWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Chairman of the party’s Caretaker/Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) last June.

The Lawal Mohammed Liman led SWC which belongs to former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari faction, had approached the court to nullify the dissolution of the committee following the defection of the state governor, Bello Matawalle from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC.

But Justice Aminu Bappa Aliyu of Federal High Court, Gusau, dismissed the case for lack of jurisdiction to look into the internal affairs of the ruling party.

Reacting to the verdict in a telephone interview shortly after the judgement, the factional caretaker committee chairman of the party in the State, Alhaji Lawal M. Liman, said the party was not surprised by the outcome of the case.

“We are appealing the judgement. We are not surprised by the outcome because Senator Yarima has told us the outcome of the judgement as contained in the viral video. We are not surprised.

“Sen. Yarima has already pronounced what the outcome of the judgement would look like, so the verdict has not come to us as a surprising one”.

Expressing confidence in the judiciary, the factional leader, while calling on their supporters to remain calm as they have concluded plan to appeal the judgment as quickly as possible, assured them that justice would prevail.

“We are appealing to our teeming supporters to remain calm and be guided by the political preaching of our mentor former Governor Abdul’aziz Yari by being law-abiding as an appeal will soon be filed against the Gusau judgement.”

The Yari faction on Wednesday condemned Senator Ahmed Sani Yarima over his statement that the litigation challenging the dissolution of the party executive will soon be dispensed off.

They alleged that his utterance was nothing but an attempt to unduly influence the decision of the court, a move the group vowed to resist.

The group had boycotted the various congresses conducted by the party last month in line with the court order that the leadership status quo should be sustained until the case is determined.
