    Akosile made this known at a recent fora which had the gathering of several filmmakers from Nigeria and Ghana.

    The former Chief Press Secretary to the governor, who was a broadcast journalist, hinted that he would be doing more in the creative sector after leaving office.

    Akosile noted that he had been involved in the film industry before he got his political appointment and intends to return to the industry considering how viable it has become in past years.

Through the Roli Mabo Foundation, he has spearheaded numerous initiatives focused on education, healthcare, community development, and economic empowerment, with a particular emphasis on underprivileged women, elderly, widows and children.

    Upwardly mobile Nigerian businessman, Kolawole Dada, is grateful and is not shying away from singing songs of praises to thank God for his immense blessings over the years.

    Fondly referred to as KDD by friends, Dada’s close relationship with the South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa is no longer news.

    However, KDD is bereaved. He lost his mother to the cold hands of death at the age of 85 in Lagos, Nigeria.

    Though still not cut out for public attention, Kola Dada’s family, friends and associates have been preparing for the burial of the Dada matriarch, who passed away in June 2024.

    According to those in the know, many of KDD’s friends from South Africa, the U.S, and the UK have promised to be with him and support him through the burial rites which kick off on Wednesday, September 18 with a service of songs at the RCCG Strong Towers Sanctuary.

    The burial train moves to the same venue for the funeral service after which the remains of the late Joanah Olabimpe Taiwo Dada would be interred.

    So when a man known for his reserved nature added another year on Sunday, August 18, 2024, despite his preference for a low-key celebration and no-party affair, his 63rd birthday turned into a lively affair as family, friends, and associates gathered at his Ikoyi residence to honour the quintessential gentleman and mentor to many.

    Reputed for his humility and quietude, Onasanya had hoped to mark the occasion without much fanfare.

    However, as a figure with a towering presence in the finance, banking, and real estate sectors, it was inevitable that those whose lives he had touched would seize the opportunity to celebrate him.

    The gathering, though informal, was a testament to the deep respect and admiration he commands.

    The dignitaries that attended the event include Akin Fanimokan, Otunba Yemi Lawal, Kemi Adeosun and Niyi Adeosun, Dayo Adeola, Mrs Oladunjoye, Steve Ayorinde, and Mike Dada.

    Funke Onasanya, his wife of close to four decades, children and grandchildren, were on the ground to take care of everyone.

    Member of the House of Representatives, Hon Oluwatoyin Moses Fayinka has backed an initiative by one of the young constituents he represents at the hallowed chamber.

    The lawmaker, sources disclosed, gave his financial backing to ensure that a free summer coding class for all public students in Mushin Local Government Constituency II was achieved after the idea was created by Johnson Oluwaseun Michael’s Innovate Mushin.

    According to Johnson Michael, the idea is to bridge the gap of the ICT and bring it closer to the Mushin community and to give an eye opening experience to students in the community.

    The programme, which was held for four weeks, had over 150 students getting trained on the basis and introduction to computers.

    The seven-day-long activities began on Monday, August 19 with a praise and worship session in the palace. It continued on day two and day three with an homage/anniversary lecture that took place in the palace auditorium.

    Day Four of the lined-up activities had the take-off to the Warri Boat Yard, homage playing, and a play presentation. On Day Five, a novelty match was organised by the Olori Ladies as homage paying continued in Ode-Itsekiri.

    Today, which is Day Six, will have an award presentation to the distinguished Itsekiris at the palace auditorium and a presentation of poetry and music concert for His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III by the royal Ikwerre choir in the palace.

    The seven-day-long activities will come to an end at the palace with a thanksgiving service to be held at the palace.
