  • Ogun stood still for the burial of Gov Abiodun’s father

    The father of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Pa Emmanuel Abiodun, has been buried at the cemetery of the St James Anglican Church, Sewolu Street, Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area of the state.

    Pa Abiodun, a renowned teacher and community leader, died on Monday, August 2, 2021, at the age of 89.

    The burial rites commenced on Tuesday with a service of songs organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Remo Area/Ogun State, and the Women Organisation, Iperu Anglican Churches, in Iperu-Remo.

    The funeral coach, to say the least, was in a class by itself. The carriage was hinged to a white horse and transparent glass. The casket enjoyed some paparazzi before the final interment in a grave house within the cathedral.

    The ancient town of Iperu and its environs supported the governor hugely as he played host to top dignitaries.  Pastor Enoch and Foluke Adeboye, Gov Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Justice George Oguntade, Prince Ademola Aderemi were among the top personalities that attended the burial ceremony.

  • Chemstar boss Awode turns 58

    Birthday celebrations bring joy; and that was the same feeling the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Chemstar Group of companies, the makers of Finecoat paints, Apostle Dr. Aderemi Emmanuel Awode, had on Tuesday, September 7.

    Awode celebrated his 58th birthday inside the Chemstar Industries facility with family, friends, and associates.

    The event, which started with a prayer session, was put together by Awode’s staff members. The prayer session was anchored by one of the company’s Executive Directors, Dr. Tunde Olaniya.

    While thanking God for his new age, Awode said the company now has over 1000 direct staff members and they are still ready to accommodate more indirect staff.

    All the guests had fun as there was plenty of food and drinks. The Chemstar Group’s choir also did renditions to thank God for Awode’s life.

    Asides from being a businessman, Awode is an Apostle at the Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church, Divine Blessing Cathedral, Lagos. He does not joke with anything that concerns God and the people close to him.

    Adeboye on Iya Adura’s new cathedral

    After weeks of anticipation, the founder of Love of Christ Generation Church C&S (Worldwide), Rev. Esther Abimbola Ajayi, better known as Iya Adura, recently opened a new cathedral in Lekki, Lagos, in a colourful event.

    The event attracted top dignitaries, including the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye. Adeboye gave the first sermon in the church and officially opened the edifice for service.

    Adeboye, in his message, explained how God instructed him to open Rev Ajayi’s new church. He stated: “Somebody asked me yesterday and said we found out in the media that you are going to preach at such and such a place.  I said yes. He said we didn’t believe it. And I said you better believe. Then he asked why. And I said God asked me to go. And when God asked me to go like that, it could be because of just one fellow who is being given a last chance to surrender his or her life to Him.”

  • Ikuesewo shares plans for entertainment

    The Chief Executive Officer of 1040 Entertainment, Oluwasegun Ikuesewo, has a big plan for the Nigerian music industry.

    Based in Turkey, Ikuesewo has been in the entertainment industry since 2014 but officially registered his company in 2017.

    He stated: “1040Ent was established in June 2017 and it’s all about music and organizing entertainment shows. I’ve been in the entertainment business since 2014 and I’m passionate about entertainment.”

    According to him, Olumide Adebisi, aka Code, is the only artiste signed to the entertainment company at the moment.

    He added: “I believe that what is worth doing is worth doing well. We have just an artiste now but we will sign more artistes soon. Code is a talented artiste; I’ve known his music since he did a collaboration with the late Dagrin.

    “We are trying to put many things in place because you need to plan well in the music business. I plan to take Nigerian music to another level through creativity and robust marketing strategies,” Ikuesewo.

  • How Ololade caught Oyetola’s attention

    Though a graduate of Mathematics Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Oyedeji Monsurat Ololade has found another purpose in life as an entrepreneur.

    Ololade grew to develop interests in skill acquisition. She is now the creative director of LadeNigeria, a shoemaking brand situated in Osogbo, Osun State, and this caught the attention of Governor Gboyega Oyetola recently.

    During this year’s International Youth Day last month, Governor Oyetola of Osun State, while addressing youths, lauded LadeNigeria’s contribution and efforts in the state. The governor also vowed to support her and other youths in Osun.

    Ololade, who also has a post-graduate degree In Early childhood Education from UI, is an entrepreneur, a girl-child advocator, and an educator. She speaks at various entrepreneurship and mentorship programmes.

  • Most Beautiful Face winner prepares for China

    This is a good time for Eweka Florret, the winner of the 8th Most Beautiful Face in Nigeria pageant competition, as she will be representing Nigeria at the Miss Tourism World pageant competition in China.

    The Most Beautiful Face in Nigeria pageant was organised by Zanzy Entertainment, producers of Mr. Tourism Nigeria pageant, Most Beautiful Face in Nigeria pageant, One House Reality TV show, and a host of others.

    As the winner of the pageant, the queen went home with a brand new car, brand ambassadorship, and a host of other exciting prizes.

    Eweka, on winning, said she had always wanted to be a beauty queen, adding that she would do more pet projects in the education and medical sectors to impact the lives of the less-privileged.

    Sharing her 10-day camping experience with twelve other contestants, Eweka said, “Every girl has different attitudes and characters. I feel it was the effort I put in that gave me the crown. I was also confident in myself.”

    The Chief Executive Officer, Zanzy Entertainment, Chuks Anusionwu, said camping for the girls was a tough one due to the rigorous training, skill acquisition classes, symposiums, catwalk classes, and dance classes.

    “This year’s event,” he said, “was important and private because they had to observe all COVID-19 rules and restrictions, which limited the number of attendees.” He said it would be a busy year for the new queen, as she prepares for the international pageant alongside her schooling and personal life.
