    Ex-Kwara gov returns to social scene

    After a seeming hiatus from social appearance years after leaving office as the Governor of Kwara State, Dr Abdulfatai Ahmed seems to have returned to the social scenes and gathering.

    The soft spoken Abdulfatai was spotted at Ara town during the chieftaincy ceremony of Sodium Group boss, Bisoye Fagade as the Aare Asoju Oba of Ara Kingdom.

    The ex-governor appeared calm as usual as he exchanged greetings with friends, associates, and admirers. He was spotted wearing a white flowing agbada with a cap to match. He took his time and mingled with his associates before taking his leave.

    The chieftaincy ceremony was conducted at the palace of the Alara of Ara Kingdom, Oba Olubayo Adesola Windapo, who presented an instrument of office and certificate to Fagade and his wife.

    According to the monarch, Fagade, who doubles as an experiential marketer, brand specialist and politician was found worthy of the honour because of his invaluable contributions to humanity.

    Also spotted at the event were Kunle Afolayan, Rotimi Ajanaku, Steve Ayorinde, Yomi Fash, Lanre Alfred, and Akinwale Akinwole. In the same vein, Tolu Obey and the Adunni Nefertiti thrilled guests and attendees with their electrifying performances.

    Abayomi Akinruntan, the Ondo State Deputy Speaker is one man, whose life has been filled with gratitude to God almighty.

    His birth quickly put him in a position of responsibility and as the first son of top Ondo monarch, Oba Frederick Akinruntan, the Olugbo of Ugbo Kingdom, Abayomi had executed his duties in line with the responsibilities he had to shoulder.

    Little wonder that when he turned 50 some days ago, the event was filled with family, friends and associates, who were all joyous and thankful for his journey in life so far.

    The former Personnel Director at Obat Oil, who ventured into politics some years ago to represent his constituency in the Ondo State Assembly, had a lot to be thankful for, his life, family, friends, and career.

    The commissioning of the luxurious apartment marked a turning point in the Ondo State hospitality and tourism business.

    The mood in Akure, the Ondo State capital, last Sunday was euphoric as the creme de la creme of the city gathered for the grand opening of the Olart Apartment, a self-service rendevouz, located in the highbrow Ijapo Estate of the capital city.

    The grand opening of the luxury apartments in a state lacking in such luxury provided a rare opportunity for royalty to mix and dine with the top political class.

    Top of the list of the special guests was  Barr. Tokunbo Kayode (SAN), former minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a man with an almost unbeatable record of overseeing four ministries concurrently.

    The royal class was led by the Onirun of Irun Akoko, Oba Samuel Bayode Agboola, Akulojuorun II, and Olukere of Ikere- Ekiti, Oba Ganiyu Ayodele Obasoyin.

    The dedication service was led by Venerable Sunday Awosoga of All Saint Church, Ijapo-Akure, while the Ondo State Government delegation was led by the state Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Juliana Oshadahun.

    In a chat with his friends, Araoyinbo described Tokunbo as his mentor, revealing that he drew inspiration from the former minister to ensure that he strived for the best in all his endeavours.

    Araoyinbo, a former Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, is also the President, Ondo State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines And Agriculture (ONDOCCIMA) is not known to do things in half measures.

    It is further being speculated that his recent move will put him at an edge to oust Governor Soludo from office in the next gubernatorial election and make Anambra an All Progressives Congress State. The move will give Senator Ubah the needed support in order to mobilize votes in the next election and also make him the leader of the party in the state.

    Prior to her appointment at Binance, she worked at Uber Technologies as Head of Public Policy for West Africa where she collaborated with policymakers across Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d’Ivôire and Senegal to move towards smart mobility.

    Unknown to many and quietly making impactful commitment, Odeyemi’s experience also includes working in the public sector. Her public sector career spans Federal and State governments in Nigeria. In Lagos State, she was appointed by the Lagos State Governor as the Ag. Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Environmental Trust Fund, and as the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor for the Public Utilities Monitoring and Assurance Unit (PUMAU). 

    Before this appointment, she served as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Global Outreach and Partnerships at the Office of Overseas Affairs & Investment (Lagos Global), the first sub-regional investment promotion agency in Nigeria.

    At the Federal level, Odeyemi was the project lead for the southwest region of Nigeria in the Shared Services office under the Banking Operations directorate of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
