    Toriola, Olugbodi, others celebrate Adeniyi

    One man, who has several good and highly placed individuals in the right places is Adewale Bashir Adeniyi.

    Following his appointment as Acting Comptroller of Customs, Adeniyi has begun putting the Nigeria Customs Service on its path to further glory.

    Hence, it was no surprise when the Chief Executive Officer MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola, and Dr. Tunji Olugbodi led a long list of dignitaries, friends, and associates got together to celebrate Adeniyi.

    Friends and associates took turns in eulogising Adeniyi’s leadership and ingenuity as a Customs official with years of experience.

    The close-knit event, which was held at the Radisson Blu also had in attendance HRM Oba Oluwadamilare Ojo, Olomu of Ilomu, Ekiti State; Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaiye, Oluyin of Iyin, Ekiti State; Wale Akanmu, Paul Arinze, Femi Adesina, Kenny Adeyemo, Chief Isawunmi, Edi Lawani, Dare Babarinsa, Eniola Bello, Yomi Badejo Okusanya, Dr. Bolaji Akinola, Dele Momodu, Reuben Abati, Generational and definitive highflyer Adewale Adeniyi, Chris Adetayo, Gbenga Arujo, Charles Ikeje, Chief Ade Adeniyi, and Chief Adedayo Ojo.

    The dinner in honour of the CGC, Wale Adeniyi, was organised by Chief Adedayo Ojo, Founder and CEO, Caritas Communications Limited.

    Unknown to many, some of the sterling qualities of Funke Kuti is her go-getting traits and dedication and achieving success in any project she lays her hand on. These were some of the traits that saw her excel until she decided to quit the National Sport Lottery in the last week of May 2011.

    Many only see FK’s strides on the entertainment scene, especially with her success in artist management and show promotion and productions, but only few know about her humanitarian, and industrious sides.

    Without courting the public and media attention to herself, FK has consistently been a pillar of support to several entertainers and celebrities by providing solutions to their businesses and careers when needed.

    Hence, it was no surprise when on her 52nd birthday, several Nigerian entertainers, celebrities, and society bigwigs took turns celebrating the beautiful FK on social media and in her home.

    She’s not one that courts publicity, however, her son, Omorinmade Kuti, and dedication to her passion have continually put her in the spotlight.

    Despite her involvement with Felabration, FK still found time to thank the good Lord for the grace and blessings she has enjoyed over the years.

    Her son, Made Kuti took time to pay an emotional tribute to the woman, who has been a strong pillar behind his fast-rising music career.

    Lanre Vigo of Plug Sports has felicitated with Oshoala saying her outstanding achievements have been an incredible journey that has seen her grow and excel in the world of football. Vigo further noted that Plug Sports couldn’t be prouder of Oshoala’s remarkable talent and dedication as she remains a true inspiration with success well deserved.

    Earlier in the year, Oshoala was announced as one of the five nominees for the prestigious Socrates Award. This accolade was introduced in 2022 to recognise players for their outstanding charity work beyond the realm of football. Oshoala was nominated for her commendable efforts through the football academy she established in Nigeria, named after her.

    Earlier in the week, Google announced that Alex Okosi will take on the role of Managing Director for Google in Africa. In his new role, Okosi will be responsible for Google’s operations in Africa including programs to help businesses and economies on the continent to grow, as well as expanding access and providing tools to help the next billion users get more from the web.

    A firm believer in the potential for technology and, in particular, the internet to improve people’s lives and to help individuals and businesses in Africa to thrive, the new role has seen Okosi rolling his sleeves up further for the daunting task ahead.

    Paddy is said to have concluded the screenplay for the film, which is entitled ‘Once Upon a Reem.’ The film, Paddy told close associates, will be a sequel to his famous article, “A Lion in the North Sea: The Battle for Chevron Netherlands,” where he narrated how he almost bought over Chevron Netherlands.

    Not only has Paddy concluded to give it his all, he would also be sitting as the film’s director and will be putting it on a streaming platform for the world to see and experience Reem and their love affair.
