    Aisha Babangida recently opened up on the influence of her late mum, Maryam Babangida, on her personality and her view of life and humanity.

    Recently, she told close friends and associates, who had queried about her uncommon personality about how her mum influenced her. She said at a very young age, she watched her father, Retd. General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, supported her mother in all her endeavours, one of which was her poultry business, and she thought it had to be the most wonderful thing to support someone in her pursuit of self-empowerment.

    Aisha Babangida went further to say this event influenced and inspired the founding of her Wena Initiative, which has great emphasis on what Nigeria currently needs – agriculture and technology.

    It was gathered that Aisha and her team designed a farming training and workshop for farmers tagged: ‘WenaPreneurers’ under the Wena Innovative. The workshop trained 1000 entrepreneurs serving the agricultural sector. 50 entrepreneurs were trained in October 2022, in Nursery Farming, GreenHouse Farming, hydroponics, and Irrigation Farming for two weeks. The graduated participants were supported with seed funding while training continued with new intakes.

    Fatima explained that Dangote Women’s Network through this year’s theme has provided a unique opportunity to holistically examine the theme of innovation and technology from a gender perspective.

    The Chairman and Founder of The Address Homes, Dr. Stephen Olabisi Onasanya has been conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) in Finance. Onasanya was decorated during the 7th convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Saturday, February 11.

    The conferment was approved by the University Senate and Governing Council in recognition of Onasanya’s professional excellence, illustrious persona as an excellent banker and brilliant Chartered Accountant, as well as his exemplary leadership in contemporary Nigeria, especially, the real estate industry with positive impacts on the lives of the vast majority of people.

    Onasanya, a former Group Managing Director/CEO of First Bank Plc, was decorated during a well-attended ceremony, by the Vice Chancellor of FUOYE, Professor Abayomi Fasina; Chancellor, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Matthew Opaluwa, the Ata of Igala; and members of the University Senate alongside Segun Odegbami and Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN).

    A quintessential Nigerian banker, chartered, suave gentleman, and intellectually fertile colossus who transited from the pinnacle of the banking industry to redefine excellence in the burgeoning real estate sector, Onasanya is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, and an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Taxation. He also served as a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers’ Sub-Committee on Fiscal & Monetary Policies, and of the Presidential Committee on Reduction of Interest Rates.

    The Oba-elect of Odo Nla Kingdom, Ikorodu, Lagos, Prince Olusoga Elias Adeyemi Olowolekomoh, has lost his mother, Alhaja Falilat Olowolekomoh. The Oba-elect mourns the passing away of his mother at the age of 75.

    According to those in the know, Alhaja Olowolekomoh passed away on February 13 and was buried the following day in accordance with Islamic rites in Lagos.

    The Olowolekomoh family announced that the Fidua prayers was be held for the deceased on February 21 at the Soga Lekomoh International Limited, Plot 314, Lagos Road, Majidun, Ikorodu, Lagos.

    Paying tribute to his late mom, Olowolekomoh, who doubles as a businessman and philanthropist said whilst acknowledging condolences, prayers, and support, he appreciates the affections and sympathies extended to his clan during the mourning period.

    It will be recalled that Olowolekomoh emerged as the Oba elect of Odo-Nla Kingdom in December 2022 among the other five contestants for the ancient throne.

On further inquiry, it was gathered that Peller’s new toy is a Toyota Land Cruiser VXR valued at a whopping N186m.

    The unconfirmed gist about town has it that the luxurious vehicle is bulletproof and was purposely acquired for political purposes. It was further alleged that one of the things that informed the decision by Peller to settle for a bulletproof car is the perceived tension in the senatorial district, where he’s contesting.
