    Cerebral On Air Personality, Keji Sowoolu, has returned to the scene after a brief hiatus. Sources divulged that Keji, one of the sons of the seasoned broadcaster, author, and media consultant, Femi Sowoolu, has just inked a new deal with a top radio and TV station in Lagos.

    After resigning from Vybz FM as Director of programmes/OAP, the bubbly personality had gone under the radar with many of his fans expressing delight at his competence on his social media pages. The brilliant Keji, who is perceived as a loner and recluse by many, has been spotted with some of his close-knit friends in recent times.

    A close source hinted that the younger Sowoolu actually recoiled to his shell to undergo more training and retraining after quitting his last job to prepare himself ready for his next assignment.

    The source further hinted that Sowoolu is taking up a new role as the station manager in his new assignment and has hit it off almost immediately. Unknown to many below the age of 20, Keji used to be a rapper and a member of the rap duo, K-Show and Six O.

    The graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University dumped his rap career to pursue a career in broadcasting even after winning an award for the duo’s monster hit entitled ‘That Y.’ He has since worked with Radio Continental, City FM, and Vybz FM aside consulting for music acts and record labels in and outside the shores of Nigeria.

    Oliver Alawuba, the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has been decorated for his immense contributions to the growth of banking and finance in Nigeria and across Africa.

    The honour for Alawuba came from the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, on Saturday, February 4. Alawuba, who started the month with honours was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate in Banking and Finance during the varsity’s 8th convocation ceremony. The event was witnessed by the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma and other dignitaries including ex-Governor Rochas Okorocha, Sir Ernest Nwapa, Prof U.U. Chukwumaeze, Vice-chancellors from various tertiary institutions in Nigeria, captains of industry and a host of stakeholders.

    Whilst congratulating Alawuba, Chukwumaeze pointed out that the conferment was in recognition of Alawuba’s contribution to redefining public sector banking in Nigeria and across Africa.

    Speaking after receiving the recognition, Alawuba expressed his appreciation to the leadership of the University for the honour extended to him, just as he attributed his success to God and hard work. He took time out to encourage the students to stay focused and diligent whilst congratulating other fellow awardees. Other awardees of the honorary Doctorate Degree include the ex-Governor of Anambra State, Virgy Ngozi Etiaba, Chief Chika Emenike, and Engr Simbi Wabote.

    Alawuba who emerged the best graduating student in Food and Technology from the Abia State University, is the recipient of multiple awards from humanitarian organisations, and is also a member of several organisations and sports clubs.

    Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi is widely known as a media personality, show host, and co-founder of TNC Africa.

    However, the granddaughter of the late Olowo of Owo, Sir Olateru-Olagbegi II (KBE), has taken on a new role as a business executive in a frontline travel company.

    Social Circuit was reliably informed that Olateru-Olagbegi recently switched her portfolio up when she emerged as the new Group Vice President, Marketing of Africa’s leading travel tech company, Wakanow. This is coming two years after the princess quit her radio job at The Beat FM after spending a total of 13 years in December 2021.

    With a broadcast career that spanned two decades, the Owo princess has continued to take up new roles and challenges that have spurred her to do great things.

    Quite excited to have joined the travel tech coy, Olateru-Olagbegi in her role as Group Vice President, Marketing, will supervise and develop marketing strategies for all the brands within her portfolio, including Wakanow, Onburd, and Kalabash.

    Her appointment was announced by Adebayo Adedeji, the Group CEO of Wakanow Group who said Gbemi is exceptional as she understands how to drive conversations around popular culture better than most people considering her rich history in media.

With the Dubai edition of the Global Wealth Festival also announced,  Akintayo, in celebrating his birthday, launched three new books, bringing the number of his published works to 41. The books include ‘Becoming a Billionaire Land Banker,’ ‘Billionaire Habits for Entrepreneurs,’ and ‘Billionaire Habits for Pastors.’
