    Adeleke receives blessings from Ooni

    SENATOR Ademola Adeleke has received blessings from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, during a recent visit to the palace in Ile-Ife, Oyo State.

    Adeleke, who came with a large entourage, was welcomed like a state governor, even though he was not one yet. The streets of the ancient city were also crowded and everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of the politician.

    While the purpose of the visit is not clear, it was gathered that it could be connected to his ambition to rule Osun State. Adeleke lost the last election to his closest rival and the present Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola. There are rumours that Adeleke is already gearing up for the next gubernatorial election.

    APART from being a day reserved for the nation’s Independence Day celebration, October 1 has always been special for Prophetess Mary Olubori, who is founder, Havilah Mountain of Fire.

    Prophetess Olubori was born on October 1, which means she shares the same date with Nigeria.

    While she did not have intention to throw a big party, her husband, Pastor Israel Olubori, made sure her birthday was memorable. The new Providence Hotel By Mantis in G.R.A Ikeja, Lagos, was the venue of this year’s celebration.

    The members of the Ministry also helped her husband in organising the surprise party. It was learnt that the husband returned from London, the United Kingdom, on the same day. That was the biggest surprise of the night for the prophetess.

    Seasoned journalist, mediapreneur and politician Dele Momodu displayed his influence last weekend when exotic automobiles moved from Ibadan to the ancient Iwo town for his installation as the Aare of Iwo. Momodu was honoured alongside his wife, Mobolaji, who was also installed the Yeye Aare of Iwo Kingdom. The Ovation Publisher has definitely bagged a lot of traditional titles but he seems to have held this in high esteem as the Oluwo of Iwo Oba Adbulrasheed Adewale Akanbi made himself a good host to top dignitaries that attended the event.  Regarded as one of the most detribalized Nigerian with his ability to mix freely with all sundry regardless of their religious or cultural background, Bob Dee as Momodu is fondly called took turns in thanking guests that thronged the ceremony in Iwo kingdom.

    The highlight of the event was the reception that was held at the Royal Palace resort venue. Top dignitaries that include Prince Damola Aderemi, Dr Reuben Abati, and Prince Bisi Olatilo extolled Aare Dele Momodu’s virtues at the classy soiree. Laolu Gbenjo, Sir Shina Peters and Lanre Teriba thrilled invited guests with musical renditions while Gbenga Adeyinka held sway as the master compere. Others spotted at the event were Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, Sat Guru Maharaji, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, Oba Folarin Ogunsanwo, Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, Oba Joseph Moronfoye Okunlola Iyalaje Toyin Kolade, AIG Tunji Alapini ( Rtd), Sen Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Sen. Jide Omoworare, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, Femi Osibona, Gbenga Olunloyo, Foluso Adeagbo, Idris Aregbe, Ope Oretuyi, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Waheed Alubankudi, Wale Tomtom and a host of others.

    These three friends have been united in the cause of improving the lives of humanity over the years. Their case can be likened to what God and the party system in Nigeria have joined together, let no man put asunder!

    With these 3 friends, Governor Abdulahi Sule of Nasarawa State, former Governor  Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, and Senator Adesoji Akanbi, post-President Muhammadu Buhari’s era, already taking shape and looking good. Recently, the three were inaugurated into the Mass Movement Support Sub Committee for the party APC, ahead of the 2023 elections, and already we hear the party is receiving mammoth commendations for the action.

    The committee members also include Hon Abba Jatua, and Hon. Usani Uguru Usani, Hon. Makinde Peter Abiola, Chief. (Mrs). IfyUgo-Okoye, Benedict Godson, and Ideato C Ideato.

    The committee is to work at the national level to solicit the goodwill of major religious groups such as CAN, Catholic Bishops Conference, ULAMA, Students Union Leadership, and other such organisations.

    Mayegun Wasiu Ayinde, better known as  K1, is in the news again. He has been romantically linked to a society woman, Emmanuella Ropo, and there are even reports that they will be getting married pretty soon.

    Emmanuella, who is a businesswoman, is the Otun Iyalode of Igbein Egbaland. It has been gathered that Emmanuella has been a friend to K1 since 2009.

    Emmanuella’s father died early this year, precisely May 4, and he was buried in June.  The Fuji maestro performed at the burial reception on Friday, June 11.

    Before recently, K1 was said to be head over heels in love with his wife, Titi. He always praised her during performances and interviews. While there are rumours of cracks in their union, both parties have maintained silence.

    IN a colorful ceremony, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), has been installed as the Ada Idaha Ke Efik Eburutu by the Obong of Calabar and Grand Patriarch of Efik Eburutu kingdom, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V.

    Ozekhome’s new chieftaincy title means pillar of strength of Efik Kingdom. Already, he is known for speaking out against injustice and abuse of office by both political and circular officeholders. So the title appears befitting for what he stands for as a human rights and constitutional lawyer.

    Although the ceremony took place on September 25 at Obong’s palace, the notice of conferment, which was contained in a letter signed by the Chairman, Etubom Traditional Council, HRH Etubom Basset Oko Bassey, on behalf of the palace of the Obong of Calabar, had been made available to the public since last month.

    The Federation of Tourism Association of Nigeria (FTAN) recently shown that they appreciate all that Otunba Olusegun Runsewe has done for tourism, arts, and culture.

    FTAN celebrated the Director General of the Nigeria Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) in a big at the Orchid Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.

    FTAN President, Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, said the award night would be held yearly but Otunba Runsewe was among the first people because of his contributions to the association and tourism. Admitting that he has not felt so much loved and celebrated all his life the way, Runsewe became emotional.

    Runsewe also said he would be launching a new brand – Youth Enrollment For Peace – in 2022 at the Lagos National Festival.  According to him, if the youth are involved in peacemaking, insecurity will reduce.

    “With this project, the youths will be involved in peacemaking processes and be trained on how to live peacefully with others,” he added.

    A plaque crafted in the image of Runsewe was unveiled and handed over to him. Personalities like Prince Bisi Olatilo, Nike Okundaiye Davies, and Rafiu Ladipo were spotted at the ceremony.

    Twenty Nigerian fashion designers who recently participated in the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), a flagship U.S. government exchange programme, may never forget the experience as well as the party held to honour them.

    The U.S. Consulate General had a reception a few days ago for the fashion designers and invited the likes of a pioneer fashion designer, Shade Thomas-Fahm; Senator Florence Ita-Giwa; Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija; and a former Chairman of Access Bank, Mr. Gbenga Oyebode to inspire them.

    Through the virtual IVLP project titled, “Promoting Economic Growth and Trade in the Fashion Industry,” the 20 participants had the unique opportunity to connect with their U.S. counterparts and enriched their knowledge of entrepreneurship, business development, and innovation in the U.S. fashion industry.

    In her address, the U.S. Consul General, Claire Pierangelo, explained that the U.S. Mission created IVLP to strengthen economic and commercial ties between the United States and Nigeria through sustained engagement with creative industries that are centered in Lagos.

    “In the last few years, Nigeria and the United States have witnessed growing cultural ties.

    “This fashion IVLP project is a fantastic example of our strategic economic outreach to Nigeria’s creative industries to further strengthen economic ties through culture and fashion.”

    The 20 participants exhibited their designs and fashion accessories. Pierangelo toured each of their exhibits and learned about their experiences during the IVLP project.
