    A few days ago, a fresh pain visited Adeleke after he lost his best friend and a close associate, Sir Adewale Adeeyo.

    It was gathered the journalist and a social critic had been battling with an undisclosed illness for a while.

    The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators is a professional organisation representing the interests of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practitioners. Founded on 1 March 1915, it was granted a royal charter by Queen Elizabeth II.

    A Fellow is a privileged,  prestigious, and high-ranking member representing CIArb by advising on and participating in dispute resolution processes in a professional and competent manner. To become a Fellow, the requirements include ten years of experience in arbitration, construction adjudication, or mediation in a lead/sole capacity.

    Ajulo, who holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the University of Oxford, faced a peer review interview where he was recommended for the prestigious elevation.

    Rocking his ‘aso ebi,’ the political economist on Instagram also shared a photo he took with Mutiu and a former Deputy Governor Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Ernest Ebi, at the event.

    Moghalu served as a Deputy Governor of the CBN from 2009 to 2014. He is the founder of Sogato Strategies LLC, a global investment advisory firm, and the president of the Institute for Governance and Economic Transformation (IGET), a public policy think tank.

    Before his death, it was learnt that Late Primate Omolaja Olorunwo appointed his son, Venerable Layo Olorunwo, as leader of the Olorunwo Cathedral Church of Cherubim and Seraphim (Inc).

    Olorunwo, who is a lawyer & the provost of the church, has now taken up the mantle of leadership. He returned from abroad with his wife & family to witness baba’s low-key 85th birthday celebration some months ago.

    It was gathered that his decision to return home for his father’s birthday was a blessing because he shared some intimate times with him before he passed after his birthday celebration.

    A source stated: “Those days were days when Papa and Layo spoke well. He gave Layo instructions on what he specifically wanted Layo to do for him. The situation could be likened to a father who wanted to go on a trip and left instructions on what he wants to be done when he is away.”

    Captain Hosa Wells Okunbo’s death still remains fresh in the minds of family, friends, and associates. The billionaire was buried in Benin on October 9 after losing the battle to pancreatic cancer on August 8, 2021.

    As a sign of respect, the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, has directed that all the events lined up to mark the fifth coronation anniversary celebration on October 20 should be postponed.

    The development was announced by the Benin Traditional Council on behalf of His Royal Majesty.

    Aside from being an indigene of Edo State, Okunbo was a popular and influential figure before death in the state. He served as either chairman or director on many company boards in industries such as agro-allied, petroleum, telecommunications, power, real estate, and banking.

    Popularly known as Dudu Heritage in the Yoruba movie industry, Ola Ibironke died on Sunday, September 12, after a training session at the Ibadan Golf Club. His death was one of the shocking tales in 2021 as he even partied with friends a few days before the ugly news.

    One of the last persons who saw him is Shina Peters. They enjoyed each other’s company in a party at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, on Friday, two days to his death.

    Shina Peters created a special song for him. In Yoruba dialect, the legendary singer praised him, wished him well, mourned him, and promised he would never forget him. He composed phrases like, “You did not inform me you would die,” “this was not how we said it,” and “we were together, we ate together, we drank together and we left Radisson Blu together for Ikeja Golf Club.”

    Married to actress Bimbo Oshin, Dudu Heritage was buried yesterday in Ibadan, Oyo State. The burial service was held at All Souls Church Jericho, Ibadan, while the body was laid to rest at the Eternal Home Cemetery, Ojoo Area, Ibadan. The service of songs/Christian Wake with a Night of Tribute, took place on Thursday at the World Lilies Event Centre, Apata, Ibadan.

    THE Lagos State government has honoured one of her own, late Military Governor of the state, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, in an event that took place at the Chapel of Christ the Light Interdenominational Church at Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

    Kanu, who was also a one-time military administrator of Imo State, died in Lagos on January 13, 2021, at the age of 77.

    Top personalities spotted at the event included Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu; Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, and his wife, Mrs Oluremi Hamzat; Chief of Staff, Mr Tayo Ayinde; Head of Service, Mr Muri Okunola; Senator Oluremi Tinubu; wife of the late governor of Lagos, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, Mrs Abimbola Jakande; former Lagos Governor, Brigadier General Raji Rasaki and members of NADECO led by Chief Ayo Opadokun.

    Prayers were offered to the family members of the late Rear Admiral. Kanu’s widow, Mrs Gladys Ndubuisi Kanu, was grateful to the Lagos State government for the show of love and support.

    Kanu served as Chief of Personnel, Naval Headquarters; Flag Officer, Eastern Fleet; Flag Officer, Naval Training Command; Chief of Naval Operations, Naval Headquarters and Director of Logistics, Joint Operations.

    WHILE the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, was absent at the 61st Independence Anniversary ceremony held at the Eagle Square, Abuja, it seemed he did not forget Nigeria.

    Marking the country’s 61st anniversary with a prayer session at the Obasanjo Presidential Library Complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State, he was joined by other top Nigerians and clerics, including the Group Managing Director, Adron Homes and Properties, Aare Adetola Emmanuel King.

    Obasanjo spoke on the need to call on God for divine manifestation of His presence in the situation of the country.

    It was largely reported that Obasanjo deliberately shunned the anniversary ceremony led by President Muhammadu Buhari, which was attended by other former presidents as well as military leaders. This also generated a conversation that there may be an unresolved issue between the duo. At different times, Obasanjo has criticised Buhari’s style of administration, especially in the area of security.
