  • Ife Princesses Adesola and Adebimpe light up social circuit

Ife Princesses Adesola and Adebimpe light up social circuit

THE Lagos and Osun social circuit is incomplete without the presence of two of Ife princesses, Adesola Ogunwusi – Shoremekun and Adebimpe Ogunwusi-Daudu.

The sisters share quite some traits that include but not limited to gaiety and happy demeanours.

The sisters to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, have been regarded as two of the few who continue to light up the social scene with their presence.

Interestingly, both Princess Adesola and Princess Adebimpe had been a recurring decimal on the social scene even before the emergence of their brother as the paramount ruler of the Ife kingdom.

Another trait which the sisters have become synonymous with is their philanthropy.

The twosome are known to have consistently wiped away tears away from the faces of friends and associates in times of need.

Another interesting fact about the sisters is their bond.

They are mostly seen together and don’t shy away from showering praises on each other – especially on their birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

Tokunbo Wahab’s love for low profile

GOVERNOR Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Education, Tokunbo Phillip Wahab, is one man who shies away from public attention despite his political inclination.

Wahab, who also holds the position of a Managing Partner at Wall and Ace legal firm, will readily avoid any reason to be in the spotlight except on occasions when he can’t avoid it.

Aside from the obvious that he’s not new to politics – his mother was a strong politician who held sway as women leader for late Chief M. K. O. Abiola’s presidential campaign.

He has made a remarkable impact at his duty post, where many had thought he would not be really at home, given his background.

Among others he’s instrumental to the online teaching aids for out-of-school students in Lagos State.

A brilliant mind and fine gentleman, Wahab can only be spotted in the company of his close allies or his home nestled somewhere on Lagos Island.

    What next for Segun Agbaje?

    Olushola Victor

WITH the success recorded by Guaranty Trust Bank under his watch, Segun Agbaje can proudly say he is fulfilled as a professional and take a rest. But he is still young and vibrant. It will be a great shock if he decides to take a rest after his tenure as Managing Director of the bank ends next year.

PepsiCo has appointed him as a Board Member.

Agbaje 56, will join the Board and Audit Committee effective July 15.

No doubt, he has given a lot to GTBank in nine years as Managing Director. At present, the bank boasts of an annual profit of N196.85 billion, staff strength of more than 12,000 and 231 branches.

But due to the bank’s and CBN’s policy, he is expected to exit the position in 2021. Agbaje was appointed Acting Managing Director in April 2011, and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer on June 22, 2011.

With over 19 years in investment and international banking, the alumnus of Harvard Business School has enough in his locker to set up new initiatives. He has also built enough credibility and contacts if he decides to venture into politics.
