Building the future: How Oluwadare Oluwaseyi’s code is shaping the web

In the heart of Africa’s bustling tech scene, a young Nigerian talent named Oluwadare Oluwaseyi is quietly making waves.

A graduate with first-class honours in Accounting and Finance from Lead City University, Oluwadare has defied expectations, carving his path from academic excellence to becoming a sought-after software engineer.

Oluwadare is well known for crafting world-class user experiences that are intuitive, accessible and inclusive.

Oluwadare’s journey began a world away, in the vibrant city of Lagos, Nigeria. Driven by a natural curiosity and a passion for problem-solving, he devoured technology from a young age.

This innate aptitude and an unwavering dedication to his studies propelled him to the top of his class, earning him the prestigious first-class honours distinction.

However, Oluwadare’s ambitions extended beyond academic achievement. He saw technology not just as a field of study but as a powerful tool for positive change.

He dreamt of creating software that would not only be technically sound but also user-friendly and accessible, empowering individuals and communities.

With this vision in mind, Oluwadare set his sights on putting the African tech hub on the world map. Undeterred by the challenges of navigating a new environment and culture, he immersed himself in the city’s dynamic tech scene.

His exceptional skills and unwavering determination soon caught the eye of leading tech companies, and he landed a coveted role as a software engineer.

Oluwadare’s approach to software development is characterised by a deep understanding of human behaviour and meticulous attention to detail.

He believes the best user experiences are invisible, seamlessly integrating into the user’s flow without creating friction or frustration.

“I’m obsessed with understanding how people interact with technology,” he explains, his voice alive with passion. “It’s not just about coding; it’s about creating experiences that feel natural, intuitive, and almost invisible. The user shouldn’t have to think about how the technology works. They should just be able to use it effortlessly.”

This philosophy is evident in the projects Oluwadare has undertaken. He has played a key role in developing user-friendly interfaces for complex software applications, making them accessible to a broader range of users at some of Africa’s most prestigious, VC-backed startups like Paystack and Printivo. He has also been instrumental in developing intuitive web apps with which millions of users interact.

Oluwadare’s dedication to his craft has not gone unnoticed. He has garnered recognition within the tech industry, featuring his work in leading publications and conferences. However, his greatest satisfaction comes from his work’s positive impact on users.

“The most rewarding part is seeing how my work makes a difference in people’s lives,” he says, a genuine smile lighting up his face. “Whether it’s helping someone connect with loved ones more easily or making a complex task more efficient, knowing that my work has a positive impact is what truly motivates me.”

As Oluwadare continues his journey in the ever-evolving world of technology, one thing is certain: his unwavering commitment to excellence, his user-centric approach, and his passion for creating positive change will continue to propel him forward, making him a name to watch in the years to come.

Expert explains why Nigeria must expand satellite communications

Securenet Satcoms Systems Limited (SSSL) co-founder Jeremiah Akpabio has said that expanding satellite communications is crucial for Nigeria’s security and economic growth. With a wealth of experience in satellite networks, Akpabio highlights the potential of satellite technology to address critical national challenges, including border security, economic development, and infrastructure modernization.

Akpabio said Nigeria’s borders face significant security threats, such as unauthorized crossings, smuggling, and trafficking. He explained how satellite communications offer a robust solution to these challenges by providing real-time imagery and data analytics, enabling authorities to monitor and respond effectively to illegal activities. The Adaptive Sensor Analytics Project (ASAP), which uses automated data analytics to process satellite imagery, is one example of how this technology can enhance surveillance and security. Akpabio’s experience in maritime satellite systems underscores the critical role of such technology in national security. His work on a Geographic Information System for the Nigerian Navy significantly improved the surveillance of Nigeria’s waterways, demonstrating the transformative potential of satellite communications in border security.

Beyond security, expanding satellite communications infrastructure offers significant economic opportunities. The satellite communications sector can drive economic growth, create high-skilled jobs, and stimulate activity across various regions. Akpabio emphasizes the importance of investing in training for young Nigerians, who could become key players in this sector, driving innovation and economic development. He also highlights how satellite technology can support various industries, from agriculture to healthcare, by providing tailored solutions that improve service delivery and quality of life.

Akpabio concludes that Nigeria has the potential to build a world-class satellite communications network that serves both national security and economic interests. However, to fully realize these benefits, the country must address challenges related to privatization, investment, and technological advancement. Akpabio calls for collaboration between government officials, industry leaders, and citizens to harness the full potential of satellite communications and shape a secure, connected, and prosperous Nigeria.

Expanding satellite communications is not just a technological upgrade for Nigeria—it is a strategic imperative that will have a profound impact on the nation’s future. By investing in this critical infrastructure, Nigeria can enhance its security, stimulate economic growth, and improve national infrastructure, paving the way for a more secure and prosperous future.

Strong blockchain frameworks critical to sustaining fintech growth – Expert

Blockchain expert Ini-Mfon Udofia has emphasised that the long-term success of fintech companies depends less on rapid product rollouts and more on the strength, transparency, and scalability of the systems that support digital finance operations.

“In fintech, growth without solid underlying frameworks is unsustainable. Platforms must be deliberately designed to handle value exchange, compliance, and trust at scale,” she said.

Udofia made the remarks while discussing her work across blockchain-enabled payments, digital assets infrastructure, and decentralized finance, where distributed ledger technologies are increasingly shaping how fintech firms manage transactions, identity, and cross-border value flows.

She noted that many fintech setbacks are not driven by lack of innovation or customer demand, but by weak architectural foundations, fragmented data strategies, and systems that struggle under regulatory or transaction pressure.

“Blockchain is not about hype; it is about reliability. When properly implemented, it provides a verifiable source of truth that improves settlement speed, auditability, and confidence for users, partners, and regulators alike,” Udofia explained.

Udofia currently serves as a Blockchain Consultant at Digital Focus, a blockchain consulting and development company where she advises startups and established firms on blockchain strategy, tokenization, smart-contract deployment, and digital-asset compliance. Her work at Digital Focus spans fintech use cases such as digital payments, stablecoin advisory, and decentralized platforms, with outcomes including improved transaction traceability, reduced reconciliation errors, and more resilient financial workflows .

In addition to her consulting role, Udofia has played a significant leadership role at Alpha Training Lab (ATL), a blockchain edtech community, where she led blockchain training programmes and mentorship initiatives. Through curriculum design, workshops, and hands-on guidance, she helped equip over 1,800 community members with practical blockchain and fintech skills, contributing to the development of a new generation of blockchain-literate professionals capable of building and operating fintech solutions responsibly .

With over five years of experience spanning blockchain strategy, digital assets, decentralized applications, and enterprise systems, Udofia combines technical depth with business insight. Her work reflects a practical understanding of how traditional financial infrastructures can be modernized using blockchain technologies without compromising regulatory alignment or operational stability.

Beyond her professional engagements, she remains active in mentoring, education, and industry knowledge-sharing, particularly on the role of blockchain in building trustworthy and scalable fintech ecosystems.

As fintech platforms continue to redefine global commerce, Udofia stressed that true progress should be measured by whether systems can scale securely, operate transparently, and maintain trust during periods of rapid growth and high transaction volumes.

“In fintech, trust is the real currency. When blockchain frameworks are designed with clarity and resilience, innovation can grow without undermining stability,” she concluded.

  • Inuwa declares Nigeria global IT talent factory

Inuwa declares Nigeria global IT talent factory

Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Kashifu Inuwa has declared Nigeria as the most viable Information Technology (IT) investment destination in the world.

Addressing an international audience of tech giants, he said the country ticks all the boxes in terms of size, population, youth demography, government support, legal and regulatory framework.

At the 2023 Digital Life Design (DLD) conference in Munich, Germany, Kashifu predicted that by 2030, there would be a global shortage of 85 million IT professionals, advising the world not to overlook Nigeria.

“The average age in Nigeria is 19; we have a demographic advantage. We will become the global IT talent factory.

“You can live in Nigeria but work for Western companies, the start-ups offering this are already there. India has been leading and we need to do something about that,” the NITDA stated.

Kashifu expressed concerns that Africa is almost ignored because “some people think nothing happens there economically anyway”.

He gave an example of Mo Ibrahim who founded a mobile phone company in Sudan but was advised against it since the people were poor.

The IT expert recalled that after a few years, the British-Sudanese entrepreneur sold Celtel, now active in 13 countries, for 3.4 billion dollars.

“Nigeria has 15 percent of the continent’s 1.4 billion population and a significant percentage of its GDP. Of the seven African unicorns (start-ups) worth more than a billion dollars, five are from Nigeria”, Kashifu said.

  • Satori-Me CEO Maria Ivina organises first Metaverse eco-forum

Satori-Me CEO Maria Ivina organises first Metaverse eco-forum

On November 11, 2022 the Satori-Me company held an eco and sustainability forum in the metaverse. It is the first large-scale eco event organised in a high-technological format. The event’s main goal was to solve various environmental problems and stop the global planetary crisis.

At the forum, speakers and participants analysed the issue of the combination “Human and nature” as a prime mover, commented on WEB 3.0 as a technology to connect people and lead them to the green stage of development.

He discussed green technologies which help us meet the upcoming challenges. One of the crucial ideas at the forum was shaking up society with\ ecological thinking, consumption, sustainable approaches, and so on.

The Forum started with the opening speech by Maria Ivina, founder of the Satori-Me company. Then the Eco Forum speakers took the floor. All the speakers are closely related to technologies, art, sustainability and eco-activities. Among them were Olska Green (Founder of sustainable fashion brand Ecoolska), Aleksandra Marić (Founder at Amaze&Co, Sustainability Activist & Metaverse Strategist), Mikhail Tkachev (Founder of the #ECOMISSION project) and others.

According to Ivina, Satori-Me decided to hold Eco Forum in Metaverse not by chance: the growing interest in new WEB3.0 technologies can help draw people’s attention to eco problems. For instance, the metaverse technologies will assist in creating platforms and communities of eco-activists and people who want to become more conscious. Besides, people can organize exhibitions, conferences and meetings in the metaverse using digital art to highlight environmental issues.

“Meta Eco Forum is a platform to match those who generate great ideas and those who are ready to provide them with financial support. We have seen numerous ready-made solutions aiming to decrease human impact on the environment and preserve our planet. Each participant made a significant effort to prepare working business plans and create eco projects.

“I’m proud of everyone who was with us and helped us realise such a fantastic event. I hope it will be only the beginning of our close cooperation and improving the world. So, no goodbyes — soon we will present a new incredible art project, and I promise it will be totally mind-blowing,” said Maria Ivina, Founder of Satori-Me.

The concept of Satori-Me means an intuitive insight into the nature of things. It opposes the logic and analytics of the mind. Yoga practice, life experience and love for art and our planet became the pillars of such a unique project. Due to Satori’s practice, it is not necessary to meditate in a monastery for ten years — it’s enough to start with yourself and your day-to-day life.

The Satori-Me is a synergy of ecology, art, new technologies, experience and worldview. Only an integrated approach to environmental agendas and tasks can have the potential to be as effective as possible. The primary mission is to share knowledge, and experience and, of course, encouragea wareness and responsibility of our human footprint on planet Earth.

The Satori-Me approach shows that life is multifaceted. Therefore, all changes must start with a particular person.

People can achieve good results only with a multidimensional approach to thinking and living.
